Looks like he hit his head pretty good when he fell crossing the street when he left the bar. This is why friends have to agree to watch over each other and NEVER leave a friend behind when traveling or going out drinking, 1 friend should stay sober. My prayers are with Riley and his family and friends.

They're doing that because it's a big tourist town now. Can't scare the tourists and have them thinking there's crime going on, bad for business. They won't admit to it being "foul play" until they have to, or until they can put a suspect with it to say see, it's all safe now, just a one time thing. That's the problem with tourist towns, whole lotta shady all around.

Several people passed the object and looked right at it before one person saw it. There's absolutely nothing suspicious about people passing over the bank card without having noticed it. That's typical for looking for things, particularly looking for something outside in an area full of trash.

The layout of the bar makes it very easy for anyone to have access to your drink if you set it on the table because the table is behind you if you face the stage. Thank God he had buddies with him to get him back to hotel safely. @madeinart13 Exactly. You don't go from falling down drunk, slurring, stumbling to walking and talking just fine in 20 mins. A body does not process alcohol that quickly, and in regards to another comment above, I highly doubt at 22 he was a professional drunk able to pull that off. I'd seen one comment mention a mental health episode, which is possible. But that makes me think more of some kind of drug was used, a short acting one or something like LSD where you could be hallucinating one minute and calmed down the next. I'm not too familiar with the types of drugs used to put in people's drinks, but it seems those generally cause people to pass out. The whole story is rather bizarre and made out to be more so with bits of information given out(understandably) and so many questions. Did he carry a wallet? If so, why was the card not in the wallet when it was found? That would likely point to a robbery scenario, or pick pocket. Were the guys bar hopping? If not, why was this kid that falling down drunk after 1 drink-yeah possible but to that extent, don't think so. Were they doing drugs before/during their night out?

I believe this happens so much that the police don’t want to get involved. They would not make him a missing person because on the videos there was no foul play. Let’s look at the videos inside the bar. The public that feels so bad for this boy and his family have done way more than the police. There is something wrong with that.

You really think a bar "should" do this for every inebriated person? And then what? The drunk becomes the problem of some poor driver? Why is the knee jerk reaction of so many people lately to shunt the responsibility to someone else?

What about his"so-called" buddies, instead of making sure he was ok, they were too interested in going back and having a "good"time to be bothered with following up on their friend. They didn't even check on him or notice him missing til the next afternoon, probably when they were getting ready to check out of the hotel (just my guess). So they carry a lot of responsibility for what has happened as far as I am concerned.

I'm from Nashville. I know the area. There are steep embankments alongside the river on that side of Gay Street. I suspect Riley thought he could take a shortcut and rolled down the embankment in the dark, losing his bankcard along the way that was likely in his back pocket. Then the currents swept him away. Very sad.

Is it weird to anyone else that the cops werent able to find any clues in the area they were searching and the debit card was found at. THEN a cop was basically next to this kid when SOMETHING happened to him. It makes you think the police know more about something but are withholding for some reason. That’s probably not the case but that’s crossed my mind.
