Seeing that interaction between Mat and Gordon is just absolutely priceless. The fact they were both having a laugh while taking the vehicle serious is what an awesome CEO should be. Wow, I never would've though the Murray himself would own an All-new Suzuki Jimny in his car collection. Could we also get a review on that T:50 carwow please? We need to see Gordon drive down to do a drag race with you Mat. That would be so god damn good to watch.

@@superleggera1900 well, its a hell of easier if you only produce limited car with no price issue. meanwhile bmw need thing about: price, competitor price, production cost, serviceablity, supplier/vendor, nowadays emmision regulation that complicate the cars, different regulation in every place they want to sell, etc etc.

I don't know why, but I really wanna see Jeremy Clarkson talking about cars with Gordon Murray for like even 2 hours. I'd watch it all over and over again.

Gordon’s demeanor is very calm. Not serious but, intentional. I’m a big fan. Also, I love how this video shows that Mat can make anybody laugh.

Love how Matt has dressed smart and mature, because he’s in the great man’s presence. So much respect for Gordon

Loved how Mat interacted with Mr. Murray as a friend rather than some VIP on a pedestal like some do. Made watching this all the more enjoyable.

I love how calm and measured he is. It really sets the tone of the conversation as like a calm, comfortable talk.

I love Gordon, he is the most down to earth supercar designer. He is like an everyday car guy building dream cars. Driving experience is the main focus. Who cares about 0-60 times. Make it simple, responsive, functional, and make it light.

Same bro!!!! It isn't always about numbers and stats but rather the connectivity between a man and the machine and the amount of joy that he gets from the vehicle!!! I know this is pretty far off topic and there's no comparison but Gordon's philosophy about cars really quite reminds me of Spoon Sports Honda Civic Type R (Specifically the EK9). They aren't actually Al about power and stuffs (sure there's a marginal increase of power output but that's not the whole thing), but rather driving experience and refined performance!!! Sure it might be slow overall but I'm sure you'd enjoy yourself once you get your hands on it!! Again, I'm not comparing that Civic against this one by all means but yeah, atleast they do share the same philosophy and approach and that is the experience you get from the car!!!

i know it doesnt really compare, but the throttle response on my s2000 is one big reason why i love it, a fast high reving engine in a pretty light car is just magic

Yep. One of the reasons I loved my FD2 which is possibly better still. The immediacy of the car with its lightness was very apparent and made it more exciting than my Mégane RS I ran at the same time. Both now gone, replaced by CRX and Jimny😂

BEV's are taking over the daily commute because it's superior in doing that, big manufacturers have to build also hybrid and BEV's for EU pollution regulations but these small projects and manufacturers don't have to, we will have decades to go with beautiful ICE cars, 2 different worlds that will coexist for decades to come

Ive seen a lot of Gordan Murray interviews since he started a press tour for his company so Its been interesting to see how each presenter approach their interviews. This has been the best so far.

Gordon Murray is a TRUE petrol head. When he combines that with utter engineering brilliance for his cars (stiffness, light weight, precision) you truly get the perfect driving machines. I would have nothing else, nothing.

Gordon is simply one of the greatest artists and engineers of our time. There are few people like him. Horacio Pagani comes to mind, as well as Christian Koenigsegg, Jerrod Shelby, etc. They are our generation's Enzo and Ferrucio.

What a gem of a guy Gordon Murray is..

I'm Polish and i own MX-5 NB. This is like a ducking surreal dream hearing Gordon Murray giving my car 8/10 and a car that was part of my childhood 7/10... There is still one on driveway owned by an old lady neighbour in an apartment next to me! Thanks Matt for making my day!

Gordon is an absolute legend, he really does understand what a good car should be and feel like, that's what we really mostly miss in the car industry

12:00 Damn, his audience is absolutely hyper-focused on the manual driving experience. If he keeps being the only one supplying it, he's set.

This car Reminds me of a lotus or vauxhall vx220. It's a good thing tbh. Feels light and simple and eager to be driven. Although for that kind of money there are many more cars even with a v12 engine. What this car symbolises is simplicity and driving experience. It might not look like it costs a million pounds but i think the true car lovers and racing lovers of the 60s would appreciate it. Watching this video I came to understand that Gordan's thinking is different and he is more interested in the overall car, its materials, their feel and he is more focused on bigger experience etc and is totally different from Adrian Newey who i think focuses more on aero details to generate performance. Gordan is a pure car lover.

I watch all GMA vids over and over again and and I can't get over the brilliant mind of Gordon.

The numbers they can get out of a NA V12 these days is amazing, it's like twice the power of the same engines of the good old V12s of the 1970s

Gordon’s expertise and passion is wonderful to see every time!

Finally a super car builder that gets it. Simplicity and performance it’s all a driver needs. Nothing to take away from the driving experience and just drive.

When Mat and Gordon had the exchange about super car vs. hypercar and Gorden said “what’s next” shows what an absolute other league he’s in. Not caught up with trends, labels and hype, just class, quality and the absolute pinnacle of motoring. Well done Carwow

How are your videos so good. Gordon is such a legend of a gentleman. Amazing car.

I'm an 80's kid and the F40 was my dream car becoz of its purity. The 959 was technological advancement for the time. Saying that the McLaren F1 was the pinnacle of that era of super car. Your Bugattis etc are steroid hypercars, but Gordon builds bespoke, minimalist, pure super cars.

It is incredibly calming to listen to Gordon Murray himself talking about cars. Definitely a bloke you would like to have a beer with.

That Niki Lauda T50 is insane.

I really enjoyed Gordon's and Matt's interactions. Matt's sense of humor, and eclectic questions, seemed to genuinely disarmed Gordon in a way other interviewers haven't achieved.

Absolutely obsessed, it all just makes sense. So much harmony here. Fantastic work of art from GMA

I love this car; the design is super clean and that stick shift, the drivers choice 👌🏽

Great video. This is really an amazing car. Understated and elegant and you can see that every millimeter was engineered to be the best for its purpose. You could just stare at it for hours as a piece of art, yet something about it, especially the spider make you just want to jump in and drive. It makes most other modern cars look overwrought and silly, to be honest. Like a fine watch, it doesn't need bands of diamonds or to be showy and won't be the first thing that catches your eye in a room of supercars, but when you look closely at it, it will be the one you keep coming around to look at again.

It hurts to see matt getting old. Now you have glasses & white hair.

These cars are instant classics!! Epic video with so many sound bites, compliments Porsche but won’t comment on Lamborghini. Lol!!! Biggest weight saved “titanium bolts” just epic comments. To have a 3 year warranty on that engine is simply amazing. I can honestly say these cars will be worth every penny

@@KevindusT360 There's good reason why road engines don't rev to 11k rpm: you need lightweight aluminium pistons. As Gordon said the engine warranty is 50-100k miles. Coz that's when they need overhauling if used as intented. Which is stupid for a targa-top car. None of its design has any focus, nor is it good looking. 217mph top speed is not track-geared. The air intake flow and structural rigidity could be greatly improved with a T-bar design.

@@lavrentievv do you realize this weighs 1500lbs less than a C8. That is massive. The C8 is not even remotely comparable as far as being a drivers car. This is a lightweight mid engine sports car with a manual steering rack and a manual transmition. The new Vette is a big heavy automatic car.

I am not an engineer and i really can’t understand some of the technical details Mr. Murray is talking about but my oh my, i can sit and listen this gentleman talk about cars for days!

Young people who try to be famous or cool by following new trends and getting inspired by rappers and thugs need to learn what is it like to be a real Gentleman. And Gordan is a prime example of that. The way he suits and speaks is amazing. There are very few people with such amazing personality like him. I have never seen him doing silly things for attention or internet

Seeing such a mature and confident design was a breath of fresh air.

This is the most beautiful well designed and engineered supercar period, even more so than the T50. Then add in the high reving V-12 and manual gear box and you have an unrivalled supercar. Seeing the Spyder version in blue shows that Mr. Murray can design a beautiful car as well as highly functional.

5:52 ok. Drag races are good. EV challenges are riveting. New model launches are interesting, but this was magnificent…. Absolutely fascinating and intriguing… love the GMA cars, love the man, and loved this video! Thank you

Is it? The first Ferrari V12 had a capacity of 1.5L in the 125S. BRM built a V16 of the same capacity.

Such a great interview, learnt so much more over the TopGear video and the passion of both Gordon Murray and Mat for a car for drivers as the key ethos showed through.

Gordon is one of the last great automotive engineers left. I really wish instead of doing small runs of cars they would build as ordered with no limits

The man Mr. Murray never deviated from the original recipe but somehow refines it tastefully and practically every-time. Truly a pioneer and innovator.
