New Upgrades Make This SUV Better! (Kia Sorento 2024 Review)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We drive the new flagship GT-Line diesel version of Kia’s newly ‘deep facelifted’ Sorento large seven-seat SUV that’s just launched in Australia.
Available with a variety of powertrains, the Sorento comes in four trim grades and launches with 3.5L petrol V6 front-drive and 2.2L diesel four-cylinder all-wheel-drive options, starting from around $50K.
A couple of months after launch the hybrid options will join the current eight-variant strong lineup.
Under the boxier new exterior design, the cabin gets a spruce up and the suspension has been revised aimed at improving the ride and handling balance.
Has the facelift improved the breed by much measure? And which of the pack do we think will be the sweet spot in the range? Watch on to find out.

Please bring the tan interior to Australia
Wondering where this video was shot? Nice review and a good car as well..
Tan interior please!! And a shootout with the current Kodiaq is in order I think.
Watching from TO, looking good Tom. My wife bought the 23, so far so good very comfortable and a good road trip car.
Can you please review 2”25 Carnival?? Very excited
Hey Tom, Has Chasing Cars taken carriage of your long term HEV Sorento? Looking forward to the review.
Does it have acoustic glass?
I know sorento does not come in brown interior in Australian market but just for my knowledge is black interior or brown interior is better in general ?
I just picked up my MY24 GT Line yesterday. It is a fantastic car in all respects. But the fact that you have to turn off the inccessant speed limit warning everytime you start the car is maddening. It could be easily solved with a software update. Such an inexplicable own goal from Kia. Don't regret the purchase though. Wonderful car, with the interior and extrior even better than before.

How to update? How to turn off without manually turn off everytime ?

How long does the warning chimes last for? If it’s a couple of seconds and not too loud, then should be fairly tolerable?
Thanks for another insightful review. I can’t wait to see your comparison of the new generation Kodiaq v new generation Santa Fe v facelift Sorento. I have a 2021 Kodiaq Sportline that needs replacing this year.

I think current (2024) vRS Kodiaq is the smart money. More sophisticated suspension and steering than your model year, and better infotainment software and drive mode tuning, plus a golf GTI engine. Too expensive though, so maybe an ex demo in two years lol
Does America replace the GT line with the SX prestige ( that’s the top trim that puts the telluride to shame!
I wonder which car will be the first to include Qi2 charging pads.
tan interior looks so much better
I am considering 2024 sorento but confused between petrol and diesel. I drive 30km in day , 4 days a week.

i would buy the petrol more refined and it would take years to make up the extra upfront cost in fuel savings and that's if diesel doesn't go back to 40/70cpl more then petrol also modern diesel engines/emissions systems hate short drives 30km a day so 15 each way wouldn't burn off the DPF

Cadillac wants their headlamp assemblies back.
As much as I like that front end design on the Carnival and Picanto... It doesn't work well on the Sorento
This needs a tan interior!
Infuriating that they don't offer the 2.0 turbo petrol here. Quite like the facelift. Prices are very high...

Majority of the sale are GT-line diesel. We've got the pre facelift Sorento and before that the Santa Fe Highlander. The diesel suits these cars perfectly.

What they arent telling you is, that engine takes 0W30. It's extremely expensive. The dealer in my area is charging about $250 for a damn oil change. Absolutely ridiculous. Plus I have a friend who works for that dealer and says they aren't even actually putting in 0w30. They're putting in 0w20 and telling people it's the 30. Because they don't want to stock the 0w30 for like 10 cars. Cause it's just the 2023 and 2024 sorento (so far) that takes it
there is continuous rumour in korea that disel sorento is gonna be discontinued
Very GMC, Buick looking now .
No lighter coloured leather is a deal breaker for me.
That’s a product of sex between the previous Sorento and the current Santa Fe.
Interior is quite drab. 🤔
Koreans love to give west dull interior colors. Only on color in EV9 in Finland and not classy light brown
Get an Xtrail with tan leather, and save money.

This is admittedly larger
the 2.2L diesel is an unrefined shitbox of an engine sounds like a a 10 year old isuzu truck engine and drives like one would also love to see some real world emissions data on them as every santa fe CRDI i see has a massive soot stain running halfway up the tail gate i bet that's why kia went with the tailpipe facing down to the road the sooner it's dead the better new santa fe has no diesel lets see that trend run through the hyundai kia range bring on euro6 340 days to go that should put an end to a lot of garbage diesel engines good to see the LC70 series gutless V8 is gone as well
