Gallagher solar fences are excellent,,, serious power and reliability... they're not cheap..but well woth it ....... Gallagher or elephant mains fencers are also excellent..... Love the videos, fair play!

I've used both Premier 1 solar electric netting fence and Gallagher's poly braid rope with success for cattle. I prefer the braid as even a single line, nose high, keeps mine in... except for one asshole steer. Fecking bottle calf originally that will soon be moving on to a cooler climate.

Oaten straw under sheep a complete disaster for roping. Barley straw not too bad.Wheaten straw wont rope around their legs. Never happened with small square bales as the straw was well chopped. All the best with lambing. From Paddy in Wicklow.

Well lads had same problem with straw wrapped around ewes legs used to use barley straw started using wheaten straw breaks up and spreads out no bother and no hassle with straw ropes.. good look with new tractor 🚜 Paul Meath..

Unless you are willing to do surgical drainage of the spine and high doses of antibiotic, no hope for a swayback lamb, sorry. Soil testing for pH above 7.5 is a good preventative. Nice job with the new tractor! Beautiful footage of the little ones! :D

For sway back, selenium and betamox should do the trick. Could also be a spinal abscess which antibiotics would do the job aswell - always best to check with the vet though :)

If you use chopped straw it won't gather round their feet like that. great the weather improved a bit, you have some amount of ewes to lamb. I thought you bought a big fancy new tractor when I seen the video pop up!

You can get you a mobile fence were you can move the fence around its like the plastic electrical fence also the get solar powered electric plastic fence

Forcefield very good fences Put down 3 to 4 earth rods

Cheetah all the way for electric fences. Neighbours had a mains powered one about 30yrs old that stopped working and they took it back and gave it a full refurb free of charge. When he tried to return the replacement they gave him while the old one was being refurbished they let him keep that too. Some service.

If he was tail docked it could be an ascending meningitis. It would be unusual just to have one with swayback. Is your land copper deficient? The children are having a great time. I hope Charlie is quick to get out of the way in future.

We have had 5 come in this year with a similar problem. I wondered swayback. Tails are not docked and all were lambed outside. We have lambed 1540 ewes this year so it is a very small % that are affected. Only one has survived so far as cades. He is lame but can walk and feed.

What breed of ram will you put the mules back to next yr

If you are moving fences around look at Rappa bike mounted fencers there are you tube videos on how they work second to none for speed!

Would recommended to put a creep feeder in for the lambs so the lambs don’t take to much of a toll on the hogs

They seem to get all the big 4x4 vehicles. Which they don’t look after. Nice big cars. Which always seems to need a wash. Nice gig quad bikes etc. the old farmers used to have to walk over the stretching fields to tend and feed the animals. Good old days
