Truth on the title man! I just picked up a 23 Tacoma today. No regrets whatsoever.

Nice video and thanks! I decided on getting a new 2023 Off-Road trim (being built in the month of September). I currently have an SR5 and wanted to upgrade! For me it made sense to grab the last of the V6s and wait for all the bugs to be ironed out of the new 2024 hybrid line. I do like the new Trailhunter trim model and can't wait to see the reviews on that in the near future. But for now I'll enjoy a few years with the tried and true 3rd Gen!
Every Toyota should come standard with a Catalytic Converter anti theft cover, not as a $290 option.

That's my exact truck same color but access cab TRDOR 2022. I lifted it with Ironman4x4 stage foam kit. 3 in lift and 285/75/16 tires. I love the stock tires. She's a beast on the PNW logging roads.
I noticed the same thing with the dealership I got my 2023 Tacoma SR 4x4 V6 from. They had a ton of TRD Off-roads and Sports, but hardly any 4x4 SRs or SR5s. They definitely must be pumping these out before the next gen. Happy to get my SR with the V6 while I could. It’s great!
I got a Barcelona red trd off road coming in about 2 weeks. Super stoked for it
Just took delivery of a 2023 TRD 4x4 with LED NOPremium Pkge in Lunar Rock, took 2 months to get, but it came with Predator Bars from the Factory, which was sweet! looking forward to many many years of Tacoma Times!
I put a deposit down on a '23 TRD Off Road but the company I was with ended up laying off tons of people, me included--hoping to get a new job soon so I can take delivery of my Tacoma and enjoy the last of the near-bulletproof V6 models Toyota has to offer. If I don't get a '23, I'm going to wait 4-5 years until Toyota irons out any potential issues with the new engine platform/new components with the truck before I buy one.
I’m never selling my 21 Tacoma TRD ORDC 4x4 like never! It tows my car behind it ,, car and trailer weight 5700#’s and it does just fine even on 3-4% grades in the hills just love it , it has RELIABILITY, & DEPENDABILITY written ALL over it , the new I will not touch to many complex stuff under the hood …..
I have a deposit on 23 TRD off-road, manual transmission. I can see this 2.4 L turbo being OK for the Camry and the little Lexus vehicles and maybe even the Highlander, but to pull the truck around and a trailer. Trucks are workhorses, that engine is not gonna last. I wouldn’t be surprised if Toyota is starting to notice some engine failures during testing and that’s why they’re taking so long to put the 24 model out.
I absolutely LOVE my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. The only thing I HATE about my Tacoma is the depressing, drab, boring 1990 Black Leather interior. But I found the solution to that issue… I’m having Katzkin make TRD Red Leather seat covers made for my Taco with black trim and stitching. After Katzkin removes the 1990 black leather seat covers and replaces them with the beautiful Red, I’ve already sold the black leather to a friend who is having his grey cloth seat covers removed and he’s getting my black leather for his Lunar Rock 23 TRD. As soon as Katzkin is finished with installing my new Red Leather seats, I’m taking my White TRD to the body shop to have them 2 tone my truck in Barcelona Red, following the lower body lines of my Taco and having it custom pinstriped. After that is completed, they will install the powered running boards. I’ve already purchased chrome wheels but that will be the last thing to go on my Tacoma. I’ve already installed a K&N cold air intake and a Flowmaster FlowFX turn down dual exhaust and an Overland Torque Tune. I’ve replaced the factory TRD skid plate with a thicker skid plates from the front to the rear differential. The transmission skid plate also covers the catalytic converters. I just heard about a power lock for the tailgate, so that when I lock the truck, it’ll automatically lock the tailgate. I also added mud flaps, window vents, bug shield, windows tinted to 35% on the side windows, 5% on the rear and a 6”, 5% on the top of the windshield. Since I only drive about 6-7K miles a year, in 20 years my Tacoma will have less than 150K miles. I plan on driving my TRD until I can no longer drive or I’m dead, which ever comes last.
I reserved a 2023 TRD Off Road Premium with long bed. Pretty happy to get it just under MSRP but I've been waiting for it since last Saturday. It's been sitting in the train depot an hour away from my house for 2 weeks. Hopefully they get it to my dealer soon so I can finalize the deal and lock in the decent financing rate they recently made available on the 4x4's that was previously only available on the 4x2's. So excited to have my first truck and first Toyota. It's loaded and in Lunar Rock color, it's basically my dream truck.

As one looking to get a Tacoma, coming from Sedans (Accord current, Camry previous) and living in the Chicagoland. I personally would rather wait to get the 24’ Tacoma (TRD Off-Road specifically). I know 3rd Gen is great but if it’s a few months wait, I rather get the new generation
Nice video i like Toyota's to!!
I had a choice between a 23 and 24 Tacoma TRD Off Road, 6’ bed, premium pkg. Ultimately I chose the 23, ONLY because it has the tried and true 3.5L naturally aspirated V6. The 3.5 V6 is a proven V6 in Reliability and Dependability. I’ve had another Toyota with the 3.5L V6 and it ran perfectly for the 13 years that I owned it. A friend of mine bought it because he knows how much of a maintenance nut I am. He got a good deal. I absolutely Love my 23 TRD. The first mod was a K&N intake, window vents and mud flaps. Next will be an Overland Tailor Tune, then an AFE 3” exhaust system. From there I’ll move onto interior and exterior mods.

I would recommend test driving every option before pulling the trigger. These are reliable and look best out of the rest but they aren’t the most comfortable on long trips. They don’t have the best brakes. And once the transmission starts to “learn” your driving habits, it dogs down and gets gutless.

I have heard that they factory for Imported trucks to America have the engine retarded for the initial take off from stand still. You can get " reprogram ' to eliminate that retardation and it is said to make worlds of difference
Have an Overland Tailor Tune down loaded into your 3rd Generation Tacoma. This will give you more Lower End torque and keep your Tacoma from “hunting” for the correct gear.
Good luck finding this truck at that price. I just paid 48k and that’s because my friend worked there and knocked off 5K. Also, I don’t know where you are, but my Toyota dealership had 2 Tacoma’s total in a city of about 150k.
As I aged I started to like truck. I’m about to trade in my 2017 Mercedes C43 amg for a Toyota Tacoma TRD off road with 52k miles. Can’t wait to do off roading and hauling stuff.
Only time will tell but for a truck I'd go with a v6/8 vs a turbo charge!
Idk what makes you guys think the new Tacoma won’t be reliable. I’ve seen Priuses (hybrids obviously) that have well over 300k miles. Toyota isn’t stupid they’re not just gonna throw in a random drivetrain and just see if it works

@@ChrisTejada-nl7mh For sure the non hybrids will hold value better than hybrid. There are more considerations though long-term, the forced induction engines won't last as long as naturally aspirated. They have more components to fail, maint, replace and put extra stress in different ways that will result in lower life span.

I just bought the 2023 Off road . Seeing how the 2022 is 10 grand less then the 2023 buying now is a mistake seeing how the 2023 will drop 10 grand also once the 2024 hits the market also knowing toyota this new engine and power train could be just as reliable and better which we already know it performs better just dont know about reliability ....
I switched from a 2021 automatic to a 2023 manual transmission because I don't trust new models. Let others gamble with the new tacoma.
A 23 Ridgeline has a payload capacity (1480) nearly equal to my 21 Tundra d/c. Toyota seems very stingy with payload capacity ratings. Rangers and Colorados trounce the Taco's payload. Even Nissan Frontier is a little better (but not much). I have seen guys far exceed the rating. I just dont know how dangerous that is. Anyone?

Historically speaking a gasoline turbo engine simply doesn’t last as long as a naturally aspirated engine. A smaller turbo engine has to work harder than a N/A engine. The 2.4 turbo in the new Tacoma is a good engine in the Highlander, but it’s not worked as hard as a pickup truck is worked. Every automaker has to bow to Obama’s emissions Demands that he put into Law when he was our horrible President. The turbo only get 1 mpg better fuel economy than the 3.5 V6, but ultimately the customer has to eat the costs of repairs.
Enjoyed your video but you talk way too fast.
