NEW 2024 TESLA MODEL 3 PERFORMANCE (460Hp) TOP SPEED *263km/h* ON THE GERMAN AUTOBAHN

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Now I know why they say to keep your head on the headrest when accelerating with the Model 3 Performance. The way your body feels for those 3.1 seconds until reaching 100kmh it's just indescribable. The overall quality is much better than the old Model 3, the infotainment system is kind of the same, but it feels somewhat more responsive and faster. What's really weird and different are the indicator buttons on the steering wheel. For the first half an hour of driving you keep trying to find the switch behind the wheel, but I got used to if after some time and honestly I kind of liked having the buttons (personally I think maybe they would have been better positioned if the left indicator was on the left side and the right one on the right side). Hard to get used to is putting the car in drive or reverse. Not having a lever or somekind of switch (for gear change) where you know without looking how to use is very new and different in the automotive industry, in the new model 3 you have to slide on some exact spot on the display to change gears, which maybe you get used to it, but when first driving it, it is a little bit annoying

I think it is always a perspective thing. You wish you have an Autobahn, and we wish to have less strict emission regulations like you have, our sport cars exhaust sound is really bad….OPF is ruining everything. It is always sad to watch comparisons of the same car with a stock exhaust EU vs US.

You really do need to FEEL what instant torque and AWD is like in these cars. There's nothing else from the factory really like it. I've come from decades of driving ICE performance cars, heavily tuned; had a supercharged 355 Camaro, just sold a tuned Stage II WRX which was phenomenal out of a dig. I test drove a Model 3 LR-not even a performance-and was blown away by how effortless it threw me back into the seat. If you're on the fence, just go test drive one. My new daily driver Model 3 Performance arrives this week, I can't wait. Now to look into a manual Supra or M2 for a weekend car... 😈😈

But I had a similar reaction to the elimination of the drive selector stalk during my test drive. @@mrmichrom8553 a no-brainer if you don’t have one. If you have, you get way better suspension by putting Mountain Pass Performance parts or something else really designed for heavy driving. Also if people really look after comfort in performance cars (which I don’t understand at all), the only way to get is to get high quality adjustable suspension. The factory parts are never on that level, no matter how adaptive they try to make it. But yes for 60k, amazing car, cannot disagree.

On a day to day though, I only charge to around 70% and drive around 50 miles per day, leaving me with about 60% by the end of the day. These things are crazy efficient. Also, keep in mind that technically anywhere there is power is a place you can charge. You don't only have to use Tesla chargers as there are adapters to use 3rd party charging stations, or you can also use the standard mobile charger to plug into a regular wall outlet. How fast or slow it charges can vary depending on what you are using to charge.

More range means you will actually be sitting at a super charger longer if you want 100%. Depends on the road and tyre conditions, but typically coefficient of friction for dry asphalt is 0.7. So braking distance at 263 km/h would be 388.6 meters. That excludes reaction time, though.

I drive a Model 3 MJ21 AWD+ with 496 hp and Vmax 235 km/h, but normally I only accelerate up to 220 km/h. Then I recharge every 150-200km at a Tesla or Ionity HPC. Overall you don't save time (driving faster and charging longer), but it is more fun 😃 I also drive in such a way, that the energy is almost fully recovered during the decelaration phases (220 --> 120 km/h).

Depends on what you are after. If you want performance, then yes this is pretty insane as far as performance goes, while the long range still offers decent performance but not on the same level. If you care more about range, however, the long range is definitely the way to go. This performance model has newer suspension that make it much more customizable to the driving as well.

Driving on the german Autobahn the people are very aware of what goes on behind them. Everyone knows that there is no speed limit on some parts, therefore they expect that someone comes fast from behind. And for the other side being the one that drives faster, you always think “in the future” seeing the circumstances and knowing that someone could change the lane and being ready at any time to do an emergency braking. Even without a speed limit on the highway, Germany is between the countries with the least fatal crashes in the world. Of course bad things can happen, but having no speed limit, makes all the traffic participants a lot more focused on the road ahead and behind.

  • @darrentroypearson

As the last commenter said, people drive different on the Autobahn, NOBODY changes lanes without being 100% certain that nobody is coming up fast in that lane, even if you are already doing 250kph. Here in Australia, I can sit behind some moron doing 90kph in a 110 zone for an hour without him ever being aware I am there, then they will change lanes without indicating straight into another vehicle because they didn't even look. Nobody here is aware of what is going on around them, just myopically staring out the front windscreen until they fall asleep due to boredom.
