This new suit makes me appreciate Cavill’s suit in MoS even more than I already did. That suit (though too muted) is an absolute work of art. It got way over the top with the fake shiny muscles in the follow up films but MoS was perfection. It was regal and otherworldly and just straight up badass. David’s suit is NOT my cup o tea. Looks like ill fitting stiff foam and cheap plastic to me. I’m a Superman fanatic (film more-so than comics) so of course I won’t be able to resist seeing this buttttt… well here’s to hoping things look more impressive on film than in these pics.

The suit is still baggy, it should be fitted to his body. One of Superman's main features to his look is his physic, this suit doesn't emphasize that because it's not form fitted to him. It's also still bunching up in places it shouldn't. I don't hate the look of the suit itself. I like the New 52 inspired theme, but Superman's suit just shouldn't be baggy in the least bit. So I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. Let's see what it looks like on film.

This new suit is starting to grow on me. I really like the color palette. It reminds me of NASCAR clothing or what they wear when racing sports motorcycles. As for Lois Lane, she looks freaking fantastic!!😃 FINALLY, a Lois Lane that looks like Lois Lane! Love her in the purple.

@@henriquegoodendvoice Yeah the trunks are odd because you can actually see the outline of the speedo he’s wearing underneath. The only comical thing I could come up with as to why they are so baggy is that he must be packing major heat and needs the extra room.😂🤣

Mostly all the superhero suits look like this, they tighten and shape them in post production. I saw some behind the scenes video's of Marvel movies and the suits were all baggy and loose during filming, but not in the movie.

Honestly I still like the Man Of Steel suit more. I am really unsure of this one right now, but we will see how it looks in the movie. I am a huge Superman fan and It will be pretty much a day one for me.

The biggest problem I have with the suit is how baggy it is on him.

A skin tight suit can slide with trunks. A suit that is bulkier needs the trunks.

That is one hideous Superman suit. Jeez! It's so bad I'm thinking it's actually a disguise that is covering-up the actual suit.

Superman flying with a bulky suit and trucks that his mom made is reasonable thinking? Imagine Batman looking at Superman suit and He says Martha made it,😅

The suits color is the only good thing about it. In the comics the cape attached with tiny hooks inside the suit. It was so he could detach the cape, and expand it thousands of times its size for certain effects like carrying oceans of water. Most people forget Clark is who Superman is. Superman is what he does. Clark is much more interesting. He helps people as Superman in extreme times of pressure. Deborah Joy Levine did the best balancing of clark, and Superman. E.g. Clark sees Lois kiss another guy innocently,, but gets angry at the situation at the daily planet, and cracks his coffee cup. As the pieces, and liquid falls, Clark uses his heat vision to weld together the cup, and catch the coffee too fast for people to notice. A simple scene, but an important one to show how his alter ego can help in a normal scenario.

What is up with how baggy the suit is, broccoli haired Clark Kent, the stupid kid's Halloween costume plastic belt, and the horrendous looking S, I can't help but see it as looking like the Ghostbusters logo it barely even looks like and S, also i think it should be bigger

The House of El Emblem is a reference to the Kingdom Come Superman crest worn on Brandon Routh's suit on Earth 96.

There is a functional reason his suit is traditionally skin tight with no fake muscles. It's firstly so he can wear suits and outfits over the top, and nobody would know he is wearing a superman costume underneath. Second, the skin tight suit, showcases he is super well built, taking attention away from his face. Please tell me how this suit does that? Well, at least it's bright and vibrant as it should be!

I just realized why some superhero movies or tv shows don't work and that's because the fans suck and don't know what they are watching

The suite looks too bulky for Clark to conceal beneath his civilian garb. Christopher Reeves' costume was more practical, imho.

Looks a bit like bike leathers. The colour is great. If they'd have gone with a suit design similar to Rouths, but with these colours, it would have been perfect.

Looking very good. I'm really happy to see Mr. Terrific having a role in this film. One of my personal favorite DC characters.

Now THIS is the TRUE Superman suit. Looking up to see more of the movie!

There is also another possiblity. Remember when Superman first apeared his costume was different. The S Symbol was smaller and the overall look of the suit was more "Home Made" looking. When they updated him the S got bigger and the suit started to look more high tech. ...So the Suit in the set photos may be his "Early Suit" and the suit in the promotional shot may be his more modern suit. So suit A my get discared or damaged at some point. This could be James Gunn acknowlging both the Christopher Reeves/Brandon Routh look...and the Henry Cavil look..... You just never know.

The “first look” photo isn’t a real photo. I’m surprised it hasn’t been brought up. If you zoom in, there’s something weird going on with the details. His eyes look weird, the curl on his hair looks strange. It’s like some parts are being pulled. There’s another photo going around of Chris Pratt on set behind the camera with Gunn and if you zoom in, you get the same weird AI generated smudging look. I’m not sure what’s going on with these “official photos” but they aren’t real lol not 100% anyways

They still have some issues to work out with the suit for sure but it is growing on me and hopefully once we get to see it on the big screen it'll look fantastic

I think that’s just shadow on the belt and if you look at the collar in the promo it’s not a regular turtle neck it has a sloop I think it’s just this collar misshapen by his leaning forward.

Ok,this suit is a bit bunched,it looks to loose,it doesn't show off Supes physical prowess,wich is what we as a fan base and public are used to seeing in the comics and film's,with the looser look,why even get David Corenswet to bulk and workout, for the role, otherwise,love the New 52 style suit,the iconic symbol on the back of the Cape is a throwback to Christopher Reeves version and i love it

It always amuses me that whenever a new superman suit discussion comes up one of the main thing people immediately talk about is the trunk/no trunks discussion but for batman no one bats an eye.🤔

I tried telling people from very beginning that first image wouldnt be official suit we'll see him in and Superman's suit in first image was burnt stained, after a battle presumably. Gunn gave a poll about whether or not to include the trunks and more people voted on including trunks again. I asked Gunn on twitter to make suit more like Christopher Reeve's as a modern design. Trunks & yellow S on back of the cape again. Reeve's suit is most iconic from comics to screem & his best stories were that iconic design as he died at the hands of Doomsday in it. This looks a mix of both Reeve's & New 52. Im sure its gonna look better when movie comes out. Its grown on me with new images but i prefer Reeve's S emblem on chest & cape over Routh's and Cavill's. Dont get me wrong latter two's S were great aswell, except Routh's was too small and i didnt care for so many smaller S's like boot heels, and belt buckle. Loved someone's drawing of Cavill & Reeve's costumes combined as a modern version mostly of Reeve's. 😊

I don’t like it at all and tired of being stuck in this 70s nostalgia based ice block for Superman! There’s a reason that most under 30 don’t care….because they don’t relate to this Superman they related to Cavills Superman

This outdoor, Superman choice, and direction is absolutely fuggin trash

Love the colors, cape looks awesome, not in love with the neck part and the biggest issue, it looks extremely baggy.

The suit's still way too baggy. Soth all the Wright training done by David Corenswet for the role, you'd think they'd want to show off his muscles more, in a more form fitting suit. If they were going this route, why not have David wear a muscle padded suit a'la Homelander from "The Boys"? Perhaps he'll wear some spandex in the sequel...?

When does it air on CW?

The Superman suit looks a bit baggy in places in some photos. They need to fix that bagginess sh!t. Looks a little sloppy like it was bought from Spirit Halloween.. it's definitely not my favorite suit, I'm not a fan of that 52 look. The colors are fine and I like the added trunks but somewhere between the Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill suit would be great.

The photo shot im the first reveal where superman is suiting up is because his suit is dirty and battle ravaged

I like the suit more and more as time passes. It's not as iconic as Brandon Routh's Kingdom Come suit in the Flash TV crossover but again that could have been executed better in terms of screen time and drama.

Personally, I think it's the same suit. It's clean, but everything you talk about is down to angle and lighting between the two images. It's not a sexy suit and I don't thin it's a functional one either, but things could change after post production.

Wa wa wa. I have no problem with it being baggy. If David likes it comfortable, whatever. Besides that it looks great and I hope the movie turns out great too. Also, your clothes don’t wrinkle and bag when you sit down or lean over?

I just wish it was tighter and more form fitting. Why do we need a baggy mess for ?

I like the suit, to me it looks Alien and modern. All the other suits imo look regal but not Alien.

I don't dislike it, but it's a bit loose. It's New 52 inspired in a sense and I like the New 52 designs, but we'll see. Henry's costume had that stylized signature Snyder look and Snyder is great at aesthetics. This does seem in line with Gunn's style from the costumes I see from GotG and The Suicide Squad.

​​@@Fiveash-Art Had the same thoughts when he first came in but I've done some decent research on him and he seems pretty amazing for it, the suicide squad was never gonna work due to well the dceu hence the reboot, but james is a good director, hes making comic book movies not the boys realistic superman is a god movies and ik not even dissing snyder i love those movies but you gotta be open minded mother dc and papa snyder are divorced now it'll take some time but mommy DC found a better daddy..... The trunks just kill it for me. The M.O.S. suit was awesome because Cavil has the Kryptonian physique and the suit was dark and intricately designed. Aside from the trunks, the baggy look is a testament to Corenswet's lame physique. Hoechlin, Routh, Reeve, Christopher, Newton, Cain, Alyn, Welling & Reeves ALL had form fitting super-suits that they wore with pride and ease because they had the physiques to do it. This suit looks like an oversized Halloween costume from Etsy.

Fixed? It looks atrocious. I get paying homage to the classic design and that can be done tastefully, but the ridiculous yellow rubber belt, a big red trunks underwear, and a suit made out of soft fabric that looks like it's from your favorite sofa is certainly not the way to do it. I truly wonder who was the costume designer behind this atrocity.

Well I think it will be more comfortable to wear and it depends on how it looks when he is moving, but I don’t like it from these pictures. But that is personal preference.

All depends on what the tone of Superman is🤷‍♂️ if it’s more traditional than yes trunks are necessary but if you’re going to do a more grounded take on superman than trunks would look ridiculous like I couldn’t imagine cavil with underwear on🤣

Of all the comic-book and live-action superhero characters, Superman is the most traditional. Batman can change his look because everyone knows he is propelled by the latest technology. Change goes with Batman’s character. Same with Iron-Man, etc. Why is Superman so traditional? Maybe because he is the original superhero, the first one with the prefix, “super” in his name. He started it all. Oh sure, there were others back then, but none of them survive to this day. Superman has the longest track-record. . His image is etched in the mind of every person in the civilized world. Everybody knows what comes after, “Faster than a speeding bullet…” Everybody knows what comes after, “Look! Up in the sky!” Everybody knows that when the phrase, “This looks like a job FOR SUPERMAN,” is uttered, a white shirt is about to get ripped open by a pair of muscular hands and beneath it we’ll see a big red “S,” not a diagonal slash. Why? Because that’s the way it has always been. Superman stands for truth, justice and the American way. When some writer tries to change those values, Superman fans get itchy. Letters get written. Complaints get made. The same thing happens when some art-director gets it into his head that the costume needs to be “improved.” . The art-directors need to understand that the costume and the legend are inexorably intertwined. So, just for the sake of any movie art-directors or fashion-designers out there, please be informed: Superman’s costume was sewn together by his adoptive mother from the blankets in which Kal-El was wrapped by his biological mother. THAT IS THE LEGEND. Don’t mess with it. Don’t question how his Earthly Mom managed to cut the material. If you can engage in such disbelief-suspension as to buy that a man can fly, then you can handle Mrs. Kent sewing together a costume for her Kryptonian son. . Superman does not wear a turtleneck. Superman does not wear rubber or chain-link or any other type of armor. Why would the Man of Steel need armor? His costume is made from blanket-fabric. Period. It is red, blue and yellow. Period. And for Heaven’s sake, we all know what the “S” emblem is supposed to look like. Don’t mess with that. Okay?

Shit looks like it was lifted from the MCU with its unnecessary padding and details.

0:41 I think most of the looseness can be attributed to resting and getting some air between scenes (it's currently in the 90s in Georgia)... at this timestamp we can see a guy adjusting or maybe fastening the suit in the back, which tells me that it'll be pulled tighter in the scenes and not look so loose.

I’m more a fan of the Henry Cavill Superman; actor and suit. I believe removing the trunks from comics and live action was a good thing. I’m not saying this upcoming costume is terrible. I think it’s better than the Brandon Routh costume. And, that’s not to say I won’t like James Gunn’s Superman movie. That remains to be seen.

Ok but to be fair thats not necessarily a bad thing, I mean justice league the animated series has a fuck metric ton of characters in just the first episode I'm pretty sure and even BvS they added the additional wonder woman to the mix along with flash Aquaman and cyborg cameos so I dont really see the problem in it but I definitely see where you're going especially after watching young justice although a masterpiece of an animated show it had way to many characters in the end
