No Apple CarPlay as standard? Final nail in the coffin for me. No thanks.

Most cars have it as an option. Tesla doesn't offer it - at all! Had to pay £200 extra as an aftermarket update for my Nissan Leaf but well worth it!

77miles just isn't enough. For anybody.

Sub-100 mile range cars are certainly becoming more of a rarity, but the ForFour still has its perks. At its best in and around the city where commutes are typically much shorter, you also have ULEZ exemptions and the ease of parking.

Not true. For a work commuting and around town use (glorified shopping trolley) it's grand, especially in a city such as London

Let me see? 77 miles a day isn’t enough for anybody? That’s a very shortsighted statement and very untrue. What IS true is that this car certainly isn’t for everybody. Prerequisites for owning this vehicle include a minimum 7.2kWh Home Charger and an off-street driveway on which to park and charge it whenever you want. You’ll wisely plug it in every night for your daily commute - even more so during the cold winter months - otherwise, our relatively UK temperate climate (especially down south) should suit this EV just fine. My daily commute is a 32 mile round trip - entirely doable in this EV Microcar. I also have charging available at work, so there’s a bonus. A lot of people have a driving round commute of about 20 to 25 miles a day - which is why these small range EV’s exist in the first place. This is a city runabout and primarily a commuter EV. Also good for nipping to the shops at the weekends and with those fold down rear seats, you can get shopping for the entire family to fit in there if necessary. A tiny battery is kinder to the environment - let’s not forget that - this is an Eco EV in the pure sense of the word and it has the eco credentials to prove it. Charge it on a cheap tariff in the middle of the night for peanuts and running costs will be astonishingly low - ergo, you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank. And NO, the battery will NOT die after 3 years and then cost more than the entire car to replace; stop believing that nonsense perpetuated by Luddite Trolls who are scared “bleep”-less of modern technologies. Never let the charge drop below 20% and charge it to 80% (unless you really need that full range occasionally) and that battery should last you the life of the car. If you live in a huge city with ULEZ rules and regulations and commute within the city by car - you cannot go far wrong with one of these - just plan your trips accordingly. Of course, actually being educated and having a working understanding of the laws of physics, and being capable of basic mathematical calculations helps, if you’re buying one of these - stark raving illiteratii should walk away! These are also attractive if you have a small driveway you could barely get a bigger car into. So, yes, there are people who would find these Smart EQ ForFour EV’s very useful indeed - especially as a second hand bargain. Also makes for a great 2nd car in the family - which will be used a lot more than you might imagine, due to the very low running costs and ease of use / parking. I foresee lightsaber duels over who gets the keys over weekend 😅. Finally, this was built in conjunction with Mercedes, and might be the only Mercedes you might ever buy - worth a look at the very least, methinks….😊👍🏾
