Love the video and love the updates! I´m turning 40 in summer and this is a firm candidate as my next purchase. Love the new movement, the lollypop seconds hand, the new bracelet and also the sandwich dial. The minimal write on the dial is also an excellent point. Just have to see how that fauxtina looks like live, to be 100% sure. In any case, I will go for the blue option as all my other watches are black. Thanks for your review!!!

Great video, Dan! Thanks for bringing some interesting content. It's refreshing, and much appreciated. I've got to agree with you regarding the cutout numerals on the possible new iteration. When viewing the watch they appear to be fading into the background, with the triangular indices taking centre stage. They really should be more bold. With regards to the end-links of the current version...Yes, they definitely do extend well past the lugs and make the watch wear much bigger. The female end-links will help it wear much better on the smaller wrist-ed. There was no mention of the lug width in your video, and I can't recall if there was any mention of it in the initial rumours. If it's going to remain the same at 21mm, I wonder if the new bracelet will fit the current model. That would be advantageous for those who prefer the current generation but would rather have a (possibly) tapering bracelet with brushed inner links and polished outer links. Again, thanks for the interesting content. As always, looking forward to the next one.

  • @TheSurreyWatchGuy

Cheers René!! I think it will most likely be 21mm as Omega seem to like odd lug widths to prevent you buying straps from other vendors. A tapered bracelet would be much nicer and would suit the shape of the watch case better and flow nicer.

I was torn between getting the Seamaster 300 and Monaco calibre 11 for my 30th birthday. Ultimately, I got the Seamaster 300 with the leather strap. So happy when I found out the new version comes with centre brushed bracelet. Now, I can get the perfect combination for my seamaster 300 along with the bond nato strap.

For me its much nicer than the original. I had the 2014 derivative and as you say was not a good on wrist with large overhang. Consequently, I wore it little and sold it after a year or so. The bracelelt and true lug to lug distance is critical and I do hope there is a good taper on the new incarnation. I lke the minimalist logo on the new version. very nice, for me.

Agreed. I don't like the lollipop seconds hand, conical shape crown, the lack of contrast of the grey Arabic numerals, and the worst of all is the switch from ceramic to aluminium bezel. I can hardly believe the latter. To actually reduce the use of materials to what could be considered lower spec in a new iteration of the watch is very un-Omega. But perhaps it will be nicer in the metal? Old version with the new bracelet really seems like the optimal solution.

@@mannycalavera2335 The lollipop is a strange choice as they used it previously with the Spectre LE. However I read that Omega received over 30,000 enquiries about the Spectre after it had sold out. So maybe this is what the masses want? Also explains why the new Bond watch isn't an LE either. Back to the new 300 though. The aluminium could be nice. I'm not sure it's a step down, just Omega going for a different look to the watch. It'll certainly look more vintage inspired. Keen to see it in the metal.

From the outset of the video it was made clear that there was "apparently" going to be a new watch release from OMEGA. That would have been your cue to move on to something else if you weren't interested in the content. Additionally, nowhere was it stated that this was a review. This was a discussion of a potential new release and how it would compare to the current generation. It is this kind of content that watch enthusiasts live for...speculation (and I don't mean in the monetary sense). This same scenario happens with other brands all the time. Especially the one that begins with an R. Look at all the predictions and speculation about their POSSIBLE new releases. Can you imagine a watch world where everyone just sat around and waited for manufactures to release watches before discussing anything? It's interesting and a bit of fun, so just sit back and enjoy it and join in the excitement. If you're not happy then please move on and stop trying to piss in everyone else's Cornflakes. Respectfully, of course.

Omega makes great watches.. yet they try too many gimmicks in so many of their designs and the associated marketing that is devaluing the brand.. they should stick to core designs and robust marketing.
