Good Day Dan. Just come upon your video. Appreciate your follow-up on the Smiths. You are convincing me that I should acquire this very straightforward field watch. I just need to convince my dear wife my need for one more watch. Fabulous video. Keep'em coming sir.

Lovely watch at a good price. I think your video nicely sums up the ethos of a daily wear beater watch and how you get attached to a watch that has to stand up to everything you throw at it, then comes back for more. My daily beater is a Seiko SNK809, on a khaki NATO, which I bought for just under £70 four years ago. It's been to hell and back many times, but after a quick rinse under the tap and a dry net morning it's ready for anything the day will bring. I like the Everest a lot, but will stick with old faithful.

I was near that side of the thames on my bike today 👊🏾 Good vid! The Smiths is the dogs B, especially for the price. However for me, now the 124270 explorer is out. I want that. That arrival might upset my collection 😢

I have the gilt version,it's just such an astonishing watch,I haven't even looked at my others since I put it on But do watch out for severe NATO rash on the back of the watch, mine was getting marked up after a just few days so straight back on its bracelet it went 👍

I’m having exactly the same thoughts about my Sinn 556A. Currently shrinking down my collection to that Sinn, a Nomos Tangente, a vintage dressy rosegold Doxa and a 1998 Speedmaster (plus a few heirloom pieces, Swatch watches for fun and later this year a Studio Underd0g chronograph). I think I’m done with spending thousands and thousands of € in this hobby.

Hi Dan, I ordered smiths everest prs-25. I believe that it is absolutely perfect everyday watch. Is that possible swap the movement (e.g. ETA 2892-A2 top grade or Omega calibre 1120 which is much thinner and smaller than Miyota 9039)? and also I'd like to exchange double high domed plexiglass compared to current one. What do you think? Thanks

Great watch , but had a problem with the water resistance after emersion in about 6 ins of water for about 5 minutes. Fortunately, managed to have it sorted before any damage occurred. I certainly would not wear it when swimming or anything more taxing. Okay for rain and getting it wet with normal daily activities, rinsing etc. Just wondered if anyone else had a problem? Thanks

I have just acquired the Smiths Everest PRS-25, which I really like. Unfortunately, the glass has misted up and some water has gotten into the watch. Fortunately, due to quick action it has been salvaged. This was after being immersed in water for about 10 minutes. I am now reluctant to bring the watch anywhere near water in spite of it being 100 metres water resistant. The crown was tightly screwed down, but not forced (as tight as I would for my TAG Heuer and Christopher Ward, which I have no problems with. However I see the instruction manual states that you should only screw down until you feel the crown gasket engage with the tube. I am very careful with my watches and would have thought, within reason, there would be some protection, with the exception of unnecessary force. Just wondered how you approached this. I enjoy your easy going videos and have subscribed. Thanks

Hi Dan, Thanks for your feedback. I did contact Eddie (he responded promptly) and he said it is not a dive watch, but he has sold over 3,000 without any problems and that he would not think that there would be any issues when swimming with the watch. I also sent the watch to Watch Doctors to test it and the result was that the watch is not water resistant. So your experience is interesting. A little confused and disappointed with my watch and will not take the chance to swim with it. However, I do love the watch. Once again, thanks for and interesting and great no nonsense channel. And happy dog walking. Kind Regards, James
