Yes, I agree with that! The side steps we got now would bend and break with the first big hit!

Awesome sounds like you guys are getting ready for some Big Adventures. We just put deposit on a Yoho today. Thanks for answering my questions on some of your previous videos. (Sorry for the redundancy on the bed) but it is one of our biggest concerns. Hope you are doing better.

As an older dude here, and looking for a long-term RV / Overlander on an extreme low budget, what do you recommend for a vehicle for light to mild off-roading and nearly full-time living? I am going crazy trying to figure out the best options... Vans? Teardrop trailer? Truck with camper? Etc... Cheers!

Hey Mortells, Happy to see the new truck; it looks great. I'm the guy who bought your old one. We've driven it through 10 states so far and it has been awesome. I've got a question on that Rig'd swingout. With your tire mounted to the swingout, can you still use the reverse camera in the tailgate? I'm interested in freeing up bed space used by the spare but I also like that reverse camera.

Hey! Glad to hear that the truck is working out great for you 👍🏼 Yes, the Rig'd swing out does block the reverse camera unfortunately. I think they do have some camera relocation kits but when we got the swing out they didn't have one for the RAM.

Hey Alex, congrats on the RAM3500 order! Yes - the stock tailgate did close with the Kenai loaded, there was roughly 3-4inches of extra space if I remember correctly.

Can you give us a hint on where to look for a good flat-bed style camper? Thanks and cheers!

Unfortunately, Scout doesn't make an actual flatbed model, but I have heard great things about Overland Explorer Vehicles and they might be a good place to check out: overlandex.com/

Please tell us more about your suspension upgrades. I have a Ram 3500 SRW Megacab with a Northstar truck camper. I love it but the stock suspension makes for a very rough ride!

Hey CJ - the suspension we installed is the AEV Dual Sport Suspension. We had all of the upgrades completed prior to installing our Scout camper so can't really compare it to the stock suspension, but overall we are happy with the AEV suspension!

Thanks Uttam - we briefly looked at Ford and GMC but we really liked the look of the RAM the best and felt it had a better price point for what you got as well.

I'm looking at something like this, might as is what are you getting.

We like it a lot and it's working out well for us, but we miss the shorter wheel base and better turning radius of the short bed.

I see you mounted the light bar to the actual bar itself instead the the bumper was there any reason?

The light bar came with mounts that worked on the bumper, so that's what made sense for us!

Pros - Able to get through more situations with out getting stuck. Safer to drive in snow. Cons - Cost more. For us, since we travel full time and through all different types of environments, it definitely was worth the extra money to have 4x4 even though we have only used it less than 10 times so far.
