    Cody is irresponsible and only cares about his popularity... his stupid videos showed him continuing to swim without social distancing during some of the worst times of the pandemic. USA Swimming ought to seriously reconsider Cody’s role as an ambassador for the sport as he serves only himself and failed to promote safe behaviors at a time when people were literally dying.

    For me the sport of swimming is about competition so when I step out on the swim block the seven swimmers that’s I’m swim against my opposition must feel that way if they don’t feel that way I can smell it out pretty quickly and what I do when I smell it out I go right at them and take their will away from them so when I swim in pool that’s what I have to do. 🏊🏻‍♂️

    A. Bruce McDonald you got to remember that swimming is basically his job. Also he doesn’t come into contact with anyone outside of the swimming bubble and his wife, Ali, and the swimmers that are also swimming with him live alone also so they are basically following the guidelines to the best of their ability. Stay safe

    Grace Hastings You’re wrong. His actions were in violation of USA swimming guidelines made before the filming of the self serving videos. Also, my mom, amount tens of thousands of others were dying at this time from the disease. He is an ambassador of the sport and should be held to a HIGHER STANDARD-not the minimal standards peppered with excuses as to why it’s ok for HIM to break the rules and laugh while 99.9% of swimmers have no access to pools and thousands are dying. He’s a clown.

    I don’t understand why you people are scared of a disease with a 0.25% death rate. If you wanna be scared of something look up the Black Death (200 million deaths in only 4 years) COVID-19 is NOTHING!

  • @Siddeo

    @Siddeo

    @@jenniferemmert4163 it actually has overall 2 percent fatality rate in countries where healthcare facilities are good. And fatality rate is much more for the elderly and those with comorbidities. Also , some evidence suggests that COVID-19 may have long term negative effects on some people, although conclusive evidence about that is yet to come. The risk is especially high in those who require hospitalisation..that is around 6-8 percent of people who have tested positive. COVID-19 has the ability to mutate multiple times , in ways which can make it more deadly and/or infectious. Existing vaccines may not be effective on mutated versions. This pandemic has nothing to be taken lightly.
