Love the intro. A small note to add regarding death: the spawn point that you will appear at is based in checkpoints crossed by the player who travels deepest into the level. If your entire team backtracks through the level before you respawn then there is a chance you can respawn closer. This is pretty much impossible with pugs in some random group even if you're standing right next to a checkpoint because if just one person runs ahead rather than running back through the level the respawn will be based on where they are rather than the rest of the team, but in my premade teams we managed to get the dead player to respawn at almost the same spot they died a few times just by running back toward the start of the level together during the countdown.

Nice tip I've tried to get pugs to do this, have them ignore me and we lose one more player and wipe before the res point. In pre-made it can make clutch moments less frequent and much easier to handle.

Thumbs up for doing the Emperor's holy work. 10:01 dying and respawn points: the trick should be mentioned that the team can force a nearer respawn point (not in enemy territory) by running back when the player dies. Good luck pulling this off with pubs though. 11:38 going to melk and hadron as psyker even if you use only staves benefits your vet and zealot (a lot in my case, hence the mention)

The only thing I'd add is that while experimenting while you level if you are disappointed with a certain weapon it may actually become worth revisiting with a bigger and better stat spread when you are at max. There may be a build out there that helps it a lot as well.

That opening sequence!! Wow! Really interesting and cinematic. I think this is the perfect primer for anyone starting or playing the game. Covered all the key pieces in enough detail. I learned a couple of things - chiefly that I never thought of 'infested' or 'maniac' as armor types, but I see how it makes sense. I'm tempted to come back and play soon (went back to Vermintide, which is still a great game). Nicely done sir.

It is only acceptable to double dip on ammo if both of the following are true: 1. You have a staff wielding Psyker on your team who doesn't use ammo. 2. You're a veteran

Haha! I got two lvl 30 characters, but until now I never knew what that Auric and Maelstrom stuff was people were talking about. I just thought I was unlucky with RNG when hoardes of crushers suddenly popped up. Some Heresy missions would be a walk-in-the-park, while others were an absolute nightmare. Now I know why:-).

I have played this game for like 400h and I didnt knew there was a button to switch to auric level difficulty! Fucking hell all those possibilities, you never stop learning! Great video for new varlets and old cannon fodder aswell :D

Proficiency means you can take out a horde and maybe a pox hound by yourself... Made me feel good about myself,, im fairly new to darktide, playing on Xbox. Got my zealot to 30 and use eviscerator and lawbringer shotty. On t4 i can deal with a horde that includes 2-3 ragers, hounds and flamers, not to mention all the little shooters hanging around the edges. Its sweaty, im dodging, sliding, blocking etc... so much fun. Tried an auric lvl damnation maelstrom, w/high intensity shock troop gauntlet, 20% increased cooldown, archivum sycorax. Me and a squad of pc sweats smashed our heads against it 5 times and only got about 3/4 of the way through. Really really tough but still fun.

This is a really good and detailed video and enjoyed watching through it to see if I forgot or missed anything. I would've added tips on dealing with a daemonhost. I've played a lot of games recently with random new players who don't know that they do not need to start fighting it or stop using AOE when nearby.

Can someone tell me how to actually get diamantine cause I'm lvl 10 now and haven't seen the resource drop anywhere I also haven't changed my difficulty maybe it only drops on harder difficulty modes ? 🤔

I believe there is more of it in higher difficulties. Eventually, you'll be swimming in it, as the requirements for Plasteel will far outweigh the amount of Diamantine that is required.

Yeah, it was pointed out to me some time ago, but I certainly didn't know it right off the bat. I thought it was just there for decoration.

Only thing missing is how to advance weapon score, does weapon need to be equipped or just in inventory, or is it tied to level? So many changes, but I believe it used to be just in inventory?

It just advances with your level, unlike Vermintide.

Thus was an awesome video for new players but after 1000 hours I expected more gameplay and skill based tactics or just deeper/more advanced info. Still a really efficient and great video. Very good.

11:23 - Regarding ammo box, it seems that as of the newest patch, it also resupplies the grenades to full (I haven't read the changelog, so no idea if it's a bug or an intended feature).

I know the Zealot knives, and I think the Psyker shards are resupplied through ammo boxes.

​@@cashcrop_ Figured it out. It's a talent in Veteran's tree. "Field Improvisation" in the middle tree path (right before Voice of Command ability). It makes healing packs heal 2x as fast, cleanse corruption and heal toughness, AND makes ammo crates restore grenade. It's teamwide - regardless of who drops the pack, as long as the veteran in the team has the talent. Basically a must-pick, lol.

This is probably a stupid question but how do you end up with a ton of perks to choose from when re rolling things? I know how you get blessings but do perks get surrendered as well when you strip a blessing off something?

The thing with the data tool is to wait until the reticle has FULLY entered the highlighted square or else it will fail.

Do NOT be the person that hits lvl 15 and starts joining Damnation missions. Stop making people carry you so you can level faster. Go to a difficulty that you can actually be useful in.

The power fantasy is fun, for now. There have been a couple moments where things get a little hairy, mostly when people are trying out new things. With very strong builds on every member of the Strike Team? Sometimes it's tough to find something to do because everything is dead.

I disagree with you on the fastest way of leveling up. The higher the difficulty the higher xp you gain, yes. BUT maths says if you enter a higher difficulty, the higher chance you will fail the mission (if you are not good enough). Also, the higher the difficulty the more enemies you will encounter. The more enemies you encounter, the more time you spend on the mission. The more time you spend on the mission, the slower you level up. So if you enter high difficulties to level up, you may level up slower than on lower difficulty, because you may not complete the mission, ending up with very few xp at the end. To level up consistantly and fast, you shall grind uprising missions. The time-difficulty-xpamount ratio is the best on uprising.

Wonderful introductory video for beginners, however this title is EXTREMELY misleading since anyone with a few hours of playtime will understand just about every single thing you mentioned. Should've been titled darktide for dummies or ultimate crash course or something along those lines. Reading the title made me expect jsat levels of information

Thank you for the kudos, @poptartninja9496. I'll address all three of your comments here, as they all say the same thing. What an individual can learn in 1000 hours of exposure to something can vary. A medium such as this is incapable of adjusting to degrees of learning speed. Expectations. That being said, quantifying the amount of time it would take to understand everything I've laid out in this video isn't possible. There is a comment on this video of someone who didn't know that effigies were resurrection sites after 800 hours in game. I'm pleased I could help fill that information in. Would that individual have learned that over the next 200 hours of play? Perhaps. The amount of information one can put together and utilize for their benefit in a certain timeframe is entirely subjective. I went through many titles on this video, none of them included the word "dummies." Using the word "ultimate" or something similar in the title could also invite the very thing you're outlining here. It could also invite downvotes. Which, in your opinion, my title is the reason for those that I've received. Titles are tricky. To sum up, I've been doing this for about 6 months (so not very long), and am experimenting with various things. I will say that this is my highest performing video to date by a wide margin. Thank you for sharing your opinion, and I'll certainly keep it in mind for the future (learning process). Looking at the metrics of this video, things are currently the best they've been. An issue now exists. I typically change my titles after the video's performance begins to flatline. As I see it, since this comment and two more just like it exist I have only two options: 1) Change the title like I normally would and then nuke all three of your comments which I don't usually do 2) Leave the title

In all seriousness, @@I_Nale_ , I'll break it down. "1,000 hours of understanding," as a title, means I have at least 1,000 hours in the game, and here is my understanding of "core concepts" (what is on the title card). I am glad that you agree that your 5 to 10 hours that are required to understand what I've laid out in a sub-twenty-minute video saves time, so thank you for that.

Lil bro didn't care enough to elaborate on what he meant but I ultimately agree, 1000 hrs in the title would suggest more than surface level details. Still a good video for what it actually is, a basic understanding

@@Kristaliorn I've considered cutting them in the past, but some folks like them. Perhaps a poll is in order.

They need to let you change your name. When I made my characters, character creation was bugged and I had to take a name generated by the game.

The functionality exists, as Fatshark can do it, and has (for offensive names and they don't ask you what you'd like to change it to, as far as I'm aware). It wouldn't surprise me if this is allowed in the future. There is a mod that exists where you can now change your height and write it back to the server, so there is hope! Thanks for watching!
