    woot! my titanium lug nuts are looking like a more effective weight savings method than ever :p the new wheels make the car look classy again. I wonder how tire wear lightened up the old wheels though, so maybe these do offer weight savings in the rear.

    Could you please re run this test with the arachnids vrs the 21" oem cast wheels? I also have a tesla MX and hope to be getting some arachnid wheels with my referral code soon, it says they're for MS but will they fit the MX? Also point of interest, I have a Mini Cooper that had the heavy run flat tyres on, and changed them for nom run flats which were 8lbs lighter. I ran the car on a dyno and it made a 2hp difference. Obviously it was front wheel drive so this should be doubled to 4hp equivalent increase in hp over both axles. Also I assume this means equivalent of 4hp less force required to stop the car? Would love to know what effect these have between the heaviest and lightest. Thanks

    The 19" rear wheels with a "low-profile" tire or tire having a substantially reduced tread circumference should provide an effective reduction in gearing thus likely lower 0-60 time. Also 19" or smaller forged lighter wheels could enhance 0-60 times. Thanks for the great videos! :-)

    Last time I asked about slicks you kindly replied it did not spin. Now I hear pretty often that it spins at 0-60. Would you think slicks might improve now? Maybe even smaller diameter drag slicks on light rims to sort of emulate a lower rear axle gearing which seems to be popular for dragracing. 0-60 it should still pull well I think. Thanks again for good videos!

    with the increase in power and L+ it does sometimes spin a little on the street, not at the track though.... smaller wheels and drag slicks could help a little...

    That gets me thinking though, instead of the weight, would the size of the wheel make a difference? A bigger wheel so one revolution covers more ground to make use of that instant torque?

  • @mrburgermaster

    Jimmy M A larger diameter tire than oem effectively makes your drive ratio taller, which would hurt acceleration from a stop.

  • @AbdulRehman-lj6ms

    @AbdulRehman-lj6ms

    Jimmy M The torque applied by the motor shaft will be the same. but since torque = force × radius of tire, increasing the radius decreases the force the tire applies to the ground, hence decreasing the initial acceleration which is equal to a = F ÷ mass of the car.
