I briefly worked as a salesman for hyundai around 2020. Hyundais always been a brand I never thought about at all. Got to selling them and was taken aback at just how much you got for the price point. You really won't find anything better as far as a grocery getter goes unless you spend triple the msrp of one of these things. Not a hyundai salesman anymore, but I can whole heartedly say if you are only looking for a grocery getter or daily driver commuter, get a hyundai. Best bang for your buck out there.

Great review Kirk! Just be aware this hybrid model will need to have service/maintenance done periodically on the Hybrid Starter Generator belt and the DCT clutch actuator fluid (which is different from the DCT fluid). Toyota Prius and Corolla Hybrid have a planetary gear-style CVT that may be more reliable / less maintenance, just food-for-thought. Impressive MPG!

To be completely accurate on fuel economy, you have to refill at the exact same pump as when you previously filled up (every pump will shut off at a slightly different point.) Or if you burn a full tank, that's a bit less important.

Elantra Hybrid Limited is the way to go for me! Especially, in that white color! If Elantra Blue has a premium package, I will go for it. But I can’t live without my sunroof, Kirk!😂 And unfortunately, sunroofs only come on Limited, Limited hybrid, N-Line, and optional on the full N model. I’m waiting for the 2024 refresh model. It will have more better tech. And I think the refresh looks more sleek, imo.

The dual-clutch is ideal for the Hybrid as it takes care of that low speed coasting and wear problems around people just not realizing it is a computer controlled manual transmission. I tried to get a hybrid - $2000 more in the 2021 - 3 more years warranty on the "expensive stuff" up here, more content - it made a ton of sense; but they were sold out in the province and to order they said it would not be the same market situation (my car was part of a 3 month delayed batch from mudslides taking out the railway lines in BC .. so they sat in Vancouver (my model came from Korea - preferred model - I do not have the dual heat but they give heated leather steering wheel instead). Such a good value still the HYBRID - up here the Deluxe model still had the smaller wheels for better mileage - I think I heard they went bigger like in the USA though. The 2024 - more insulation in those door panels apparently - you had great information on the changes they are putting in for 2024 - more rear air bags I think too.

Elantra does feel premium when you sit inside it and shut the doors. It does ride well. However, when you go down the road and over bumps, it's just a shade less solid feeling overall than a Corolla or Prius. Ride quality is also excellent but a tick below the Corolla as well. Elantra has more style than Corolla and a different style than Prius, with Prius being fresher. Good car. I don't like the refresh on the Elantra. It wasn't necessary. And the one on the Sonata made the car look generic in the front. They should have kept the Sonata character while removing the catfish look. But it has an any car look to it now.

I bought a 2023 Elantra SEL and boy does this thing impress me. On highway, and I’m not joking when I say this, I get almost 55mpg on this non hybrid car. I drove from Upper Marlboro, Maryland to NYC with a quarter tank. To clearly put it, that was almost a 300 miles drive. I filled up in New Jersey when fuel hit 23 miles to empty. I constantly get 485 miles on full tank or close to it. Hyundai lies about their mpg as well as they do their horsepower. How does a 147hp Elantra keep up with a 186hp Mazda 3? How does a 290hp sonata N-line leave an Audi S5 in a drag race? There is something Hyundai isn’t telling us and I love it. I’m locked in with Hyundai motor group. My next car will be the Elantra N but I wish Hyundai had a Sonata N… as in a full blown N for the sonata with AWD. If they make that mistake of making that vehicle, NOTHING from Japan will ever see the light of day again

Limited was a must for us for all the features including larger 10.25" display, sunroof, leather, ventilated seats, advanced cruise & safety features, etc. We loved the look of the exterior of the Prius but not the inside of it. Elantra Hybrid Limited had all of the luxury in a normal looking vehicles with the exceptional fuel economy. We are still amazed at how good the mpg is using non-premium fuel. Plus Hyundai's get Free scheduled maintenance for 3yr/36K.

Most of the traditional transmission would last the car life time, but this CVT transmission will fail within 5-7 year and it would cost alot to fix them.
