Maybe it's just me, but wasn't the plot for Operation Fortune recently done? Capture a celebrity playing themselves to corner a criminal? I can't recall the movie but that plots feels like a complete rip.

Disney didn't write Peter Pan or any other story since the 1960s, so if you want somebody to come up with a new idea like Peter Pan best not to wait on them.

There was a time when i genuine looked forward to new films, now they are all about Agendas, Fearmongering and making money. Disney is still on its Eternal crusade to include POC character in the stories they stole where ever they can, except the villain, which obviously has to be played by a White person. Then we got Fearmongering the film with extrapolations. And the rest looks like a dime a dozen. Nobody is even remotely trying to come up with an interesting film any more.

They were (and are) more of developing a film makers vision than making money. To name a few Schindler's List, All Quiet on the Western Front, We Were Soldiers, Mississippi Burning, Day the Earth Stood Still, Dunkirk, The Pacific, Lincoln, U-571, Das Boot, and others. Epic, great films that didn't pander

@@wudegoddd No-one was outraged that she was white. Not sure why you think they were. They decided to change it having taken the social temperature at the time of the remake. If they're wrong on this, the movie will fail. If it fails, then I hope it's for the right reasons - it's a bad film - and not because of a change from a white character to one of color. Personally, this movie is not aimed at my demographic, I really don't care what they do with it, and it'll live or die on the numbers.

@@glangela I feel sorry for you that you are so ignorant that you don't realize what an insult it is to cast a POC as Tinkerbell. 1) The Tinkerbell character is a jealous betrayer. 2) Tinkerbell is enslaved to Peter Pan (check your Fae lore) and casting a POC into the role ostensibly supports black slavery tropes. 3) Every black-skinned Fae is *extremely evil and conniving*. So, they tossed the black audience a bone and pandered to them by making one of the *worst possible* character choices black. Why not make Captain Hook black? A strong, powerful villain character. "Oh, but we can't cast black people in the roles of the 'bad guy' - that does nothing to assuage our White Girl Guilt...." Even better: Why not cast *PETER PAN* as a black character? You don't even realize you're being made fun of, cast as a jealous, conniving betrayer who is a slave - and you've bought into their White Girl Guilt that they're being "inclusive" to cast a black woman into such a nasty, onerous role - when all they're doing is pandering by casting the *worst possible role* as a black woman.
