I am part of an Eli Lilly study named Surmount 5. It started in June of 2023 and goes until October 2024. It’s a head to head study of the highest dose of Mounjaro versus the highest dose of Wegovy. I am one of the 50% who were randomly assigned to Mounjaro. Everyone in the study is not diabetic. I’m so excited to see the results of the study this fall. So far I’ve lost 70 pounds.

😳. So excited to read the results of this!!!
I have been on wegovy for 14 months. I have loss 120lbs, which is more than 40% of my weight. Great video. Thanks for the information.
I have been on Mounjaro for exactly 4 months. I have lost 50.4 lbs which was 20% of my initial weight. I have had no side effects except for transient constipation at a lower dose many weeks ago. As opposed to others, I weigh myself daily because I want the immediate feedback that I did something right or wrong the day before. I have been eating a fairly but not strictly keto diet combined with 16/8 intermittent fasting during weekdays and 14/10 on the weekends. I am walking 10 miles over a weekend. I also take many vitamins and supplements. My experience has been magical. I have gone down 4 pant sizes. All my bloodwork has normalized. Its amazing.

Congratulations. What supplements are you taking. I am 67 been on mounjaro since March and have lost about 10kg. I take an average of 11k steps daily and also doing 16/8 daily. But weight loss has now stalled 😭
I turned 60 yo in March :) I am fortunate enough to have a good job with great insurance or I would not be able to take Mounjaro - it's made a world of difference but I am truly hoping that it will become available for all who need it. This was really informative thank you :) My A1C went from 10 in november to 6.1 in May and I'm down 35lbs - just seeing improvements in health already and I still have another 100 lbs to go. I think the over 50 thing is mainly because type 2 tends to really present itself as an issue at that age - would love to see a study on effectiveness of weight loss at certain age brackets.
Thanks for the great share and video. No surprise about the average age of women on this study due to crazy hormone menopause gain and hard to lose. I'm one of them 😅
She said "surprises me that the age was so old...52". Brittany, girl! 52 isn't "so Old" 😂🤦🏽♀️

Oh I know- I definitely don’t co sister 52 old. I guess I just thought the average would be lower
P.S. i went from 286 to 228.4 last weigh in last week. I only weight myself when i remember. I try to focus on how my clothes fit, over my weight, gaining and losing because of so many factors, can be very discouraging, seeing how my clothes are getting too big is the best moral boost. I probably wont weigh myself until after my next mounjaro box is done. I cant tell you how wonderful it is that i finally can fit smaller clothes. Still not shopping in normal sizesection, but i am happy to just feel lighter and finding cuter clothes to fit me. Too bad your feet dont get smaller too lol

@@Brittanylosingi know, when i was pregnant with my sons my feet got bigger, mostly because my pregnancies were both through the whole summer and they were swelling, lol but maybe they will get smaller, i hope. Have a great evening.
Hi thank you for the update, always good to know about the newstudies. Hope you are well and wishing you further success in your goals. Grace

I look forward to each video that comes out!!
I wasn't shocked by the female age group. Good ol menopause 😂
I'm 54 and don't feel old at all. Actually feeling better than I did in my 40's😮
Ive lost 21.3lbs todays is the start of wk6 on 5mg MJ. I have done 2x IF pw, 30min walking 5x pw, 25min 4x resistance training pw, 20min full body workouts 5x pw. I want to build muscle, tone skin and i focus on protein 100g pd at least, i dont want saggy face neither body, i also take collagen everyday. I have 10wks supply of 5mg n have another 18kg to lose.
Glad to see your back I agree there are a lot of guys in Orderly group I am one of them I am loving my compound Tirzepatide . I went to Costco last night and asked if theu had any Zepbound in stock. They are still having a hard time getting it . 😳
...I'm a middle-aged Black male; & Charlotte, NC resident and native, who's recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I'm on week 2 of Mounjaro 2.5 & looking forward to the health benefits of Mounjaro. I've already lost 10 lbs. & the benefits outweigh the side-effects thus far. For a variety of reasons none of the statistics surprise me...none. Good luck on your journey towards better health everyone! 👍🏾💯🥗☺️
Yep! I’m also in the demographic study. I started Ozempic in May 2022… switched to Mounjaro in October 2022. I was 57 with a BMI of 32 when I started the journey. Menopause seems to be the culprit. 🤷♀️
Yep! Glad you see it and realize it. I’m a middle age Latina and did not have these privileges. I wish people would open their eyes.
Great Video, I was on Ozempic for about 3 months and when i moved up to 1mg is when the major side effects happened. Now i am on Mounjaro. I love it. I have lost around 35 pounds and been on it since November of 2023. My husband works for Lilly and he gets the meds for free with his insurance. Since we live in Indianapolis, Indiana where Lillys headquarters is. We have been able to find it here for the most part. That was a very interesting study that they did. 😮

Lucky!
I was 185 and now 135 took 18 months. Successful because I stayed low dose, daily gym and high protein. If I did not work out I believe the side effects would have me give up on Mounjaro.
What dose are you on now and what pharmacy does it come from? Thanks!
😮very interesting
Yep..I just said it and heard you state in your video right after
The 5mg already beats 1mg of ozempic so its unlikely 2-2.4mg would beat 10/12.5/15mg . Also on a mechanistic side the fact Mounjaro works on 2 receptors were as Ozempic on one . The new one currently in development works on 3 so looks like it will work better again according to early stats .

Oh I agree- I just would love to see a study of that kind. Someone else commented that they are currently part of a study that does highest dose of Ozempic vs highest dose of zepbound.
Really interesting Brittany. I'm in the UK and could only get semi glutide last year and this year now that tirzepetide is available I'm doing so so much better, it makes sense.
😳. I am not shocked . I am 51 year old on Zepbound . I think with age comes knowledge when picking and navigating the health insurance process

Yes, indeed. Agreed. And we have resources that the 30 something's likely do not. So, makes sense to me, as well. Paying out of pocket, etc
😱thank for the info I going to switch from semiglutide to trezepatide this month. Not real successful in semiglutide ☹️
I think the gold standard study is the head to head study between tirzepatide and semaglutide published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
@cloakster

Not sure, but if it’s the one I’m thinking of, only the 1mg dose of semaglutide was used. And I think for Tirzepatide it was the 5, 10, and 15mg doses. But, I could be wrong. 🤷🏼♂️
The age doesn't surprise me. You have to take into consideration that you are much more vulnerable to being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes as you get older (or that's at least what I see in myself and my "older" friends. :)
Clayton, North Carolina is where they are building the plant
I did my second shot MJ 240 I want to be 200lb
hi Brittany
July 7, 2024 was a Sunday, not Monday.
My insurance only pays for Wegovy. I’m only on .5. My theory is the side effects might be the worst on Wegovy on higher doses so people quit or switch. I’ve lost 20 lbs in week 10. I’m trying to titrate slowly. I’m a white middle aged white woman… just saying. I’m on WW clinic. ❤
Sim-EYE-gloo-tide? Say it ain't so Brittany. I don't know where they got "sema" from -- but based upon my initial research, I think "sema" refers to 7 days or weekly. Interesting results even though data mining is somewhat limited in its scientific validity. You mention demographics as affecting the study. For instance, tirzepatide was cheaper than semaglutide, so that might have something to do with whether an insurance company approved treatment. Would be a good basis for a direct randomized comparison between the two drugs.
😮 I’m white but I just turned 30. I have pcos, hashimoto’s hypothyroidism, and metabolic syndrome. I’ve had so many people just want to know the name of my doctor because I was approved having pcos.
And your point is?????

😒 did you watch?
The disparities among age and race is what is called social determinants of health. I fit right in the demographic of the study. 54. Paying out of pocket for compounded tirzepitide. I have a very good job that pays well. I have very good insurance that won't even cover Wegovy or zepbound. I literally only have access because I have the financial resources.
@Brittanylosing

I absolutely agree. Those who say there isn’t a disparity are just fooling themselves. I am in the exact same situation. Chris has a great job, with good insurance. But it doesn’t cover weight loss meds. So I have paid out of pocket now the entire time I’ve been on it (yes I got the 25$ coupon for a while but that ended a LONG time ago)

@@Brittanylosing@769jojo I am 55 and recently started Zepbound. I noticed that there is some gatekeeping within the medical community too. Initially, I signed up with a weight loss specialist yet at no point point was I offered Zepbound or Wegovy.… In fact, the only medication she wanted to consider is Wellbutrin, which is typically a depression medication. As someone who tracks their food, and weighs their food, eats clean, works out, and drinks water… I knew that I had the foundation for weight loss yet menopause makes progress very difficult. Add to that the food noise which I clearly expressed, but I still got nowhere. It was like gatekeeping and gaslighting at its finest! I have great insurance that covered both medication‘s, yet I was not even offered access to either medication. I hate to think it’s because of my race, but I did wonder.
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Unfortunately I'm not surprised...and ready to get glares, that group/class has access to most things before other classes...Just saying..better jobs with better insurance coverage...also more money to pay out of pocket.
😮😮😮😊❤
:O
It's not about race or money it's about who has better insurance

It was the 25.00 coupon for Mounjaro that made the difference.

This is definitely not true because majority of people on Mounjaro pay out of pocket. But even so; those with better insurance tend to have better paying jobs

There’s definitely a racial component… There have been medical disparities for minorities forever… I’ve experienced this firsthand when the weight loss doctor I first saw was gatekeeping any access to Zepbound. My insurance covered it yet I was not offered any access to it. She had no good reason for not approving it; I fit all the criteria. I went to see my primary care doctor and got on it immediately.
