honestly sounds a bit better stock more rumble and deep tone but droping with no muffler sound insane that sounded like a beast but still respect the truck

Truck must be a lot of fun with that it limited Slip. 😂 seemed to be the highlight of the video with those 420 drifts. As for the exhaust I think the change is very subtle but it Does help performance.

The flowmaster makes it sound like a bike, I like the stock sound especially if you left it chopped, that sounded fantastic

I've had flowmasters on the Wranglers that I've owned over the years, but I'm running SLP loudmouth catbacks on my Challenger and actually flow better. Mainly because they eliminate the reso's as well as mufflers, and use open chamber racing bullets instead. Is almost like straight piping, but it's better because the 3in adds a larger-diameter then stock pipes and are much lighter than most aftermarket set ups

beautiful truck, I have one but mine is all black including rims and it's 4x4, I still get a lot of compliments and offers to buy it

I hope to be able to do this kind of stuff to my 99 Ram in the future

Dont use aluminized pipe tho, get stainless

If you want something that sounds good and is still legal go with a glass pack muffler, it’s pretty well a legal straight pipe, I went from glass pack to magnaflow and was very disappointed with the magnaflow cause of how quiet it was, gets a little louder over time tho

I have a '97 Ram 1500 with a 360 and I've got to do that to mine but got to place the whole exhoast cat and all one day when I can. On my intake I ran it to the front of the grill and made a ramair intake and you can feel the difference down the road from stock to piping it from the front, if I had a good camera I would post pics of it. Very nice truck. Love mine and it's about to click over to 253,000 miles soon and still going strong so far knock on wood.

I'll have my truck until I die, never going to get rid of it. Going to get another car to daily drive when I can but the truck not going anywhere. Hoping to fix it up sometime in the future. Hoping it lasts a few more thousands of miles.

Update my '97 Ram is about to click over to 275,000 miles and still going strong so far knock on wood. Haven't done much to it but regular maintenance stuff. Also next month I'll have my truck for 8 years and have put 82,000 miles on it myself. Anyways going to see how far it will go.

Cool I have to piece back together the exhaust system on my 2000 dodge ram Laramie slt longbed quad cab 5.2 litre 318 magnum V8 46 RE AT 1500 gloss black 4X4

Love it! My 98 5.9 1500 is straight piped. (Quick Tip- zto deal with the back pressure loss just scale down the pipes and bring it back up. Ex: 3 inch> 2 1/2 inch>3 inch (this is on my truck))

One week? Not bad, I had my truck all of 5 minutes and drove it straight from the dealer to a muffler shop and had them welded a flowmaster on.

how about just cutting off the muffler ? i had a flowmaster full kit on my ford and man it had a stock sound i cut off the muffler and tailpipe and then it sounds beefy and maybe some more power i heard you didnt want it loud. nice

I had Flow masters in my 95 and I chucked them for cherry bombs.

My 01 has a hollowed out cat with 3 inch straight pipe.

This is the exact year, model, and trim that I drive, and the stock mufflers on it are absolutely trash. 36" long and around an 8" oval on the long end. They sound super click-ey in person, and an aftermarket exhaust/muffler does wonders for the driving experience

I spent a total of 87 dollars for someone to put and buy a glass pack exhaust on my 98 dodge 1500 and it sounds wayyyy more aggressive than yours

thats exactly what mine sounded like stock

Why does stock sound better

Super clean truck. Almost a phenomenon. But that cheap exhaust idea isn't a good one. The original exhaust is stainless steel. You are removing stainless steel for aluminized steel. That stainless had about at least 10 more years left at least. And that aluminized pipe has about 5 or 6 if you're lucky. Like here in ohio and nice solid 5 years of life. Leave original pipe and just replace muffler with a stainless magna flow or something. That's it.

Stock sounds better

Dual exhaust is awesome on those, but on the newer trucks those integrated exhaust with the bumper are ugly as fuck! Stock sounded better also, what a waste of money.
