There's an article from April 2023 that claimed Bellatores would launch in 2nd half 2024, but they haven't had the 1st Alpha yet. So I kinda doubt it.

Thanks for this indepth review. I'm interested in playing some of the games you've mentioned. Let's hope 2024 releases some gems!

I'm really not a fan of PvP in MMOs, but CorePunk looks the most interesting/promising of the batch to me. Blue Protocol looks good, but as you said, the monetization issue looms large.

I'm actually a fan of tab targeting. For me, I'm able to spend more time enjoying the actual experience of playing the game and less time worrying about things I don't really care about. FYI - Pax Dei is going early access this spring.

Based on recent developments, I don't think we need to figure out how to pronounce "Quinfall" anymore. Turns out, almost every asset has been revealed to be from the Unreal store. A few store-bought is fine. All store bought, that's a flag of redness+3

The store bought assets are the least of the red flags tbh. Buying store bought assets in itself isn't necessarily bad. Hiding it is. But it also makes it seem more and more like an asset flip trying to make some money from minimal work.

I honestly would've had more trust in Tarisland if they had just admitted they were a WOW Clone from the get-go!

I think there are definitely some cultural things there. My big concern is just they don't seem ready with localization. Well and monetization or course.

They confirmed Controller support, but not sure if it will be ready for launch.

Last year i decided to start playing established games that have been around for a bit and first it was ff14 and its down right amazing. Then at this last Christmas I decided to try guild wars 2 amd I'm playing it every single day. Steam had a amazing sale of every single expansion for 70 dollars and it's a steal for all the content you get and the best part is no monthly fees. It's refreshing to buy a game and not have to worry about fees along the way. Guild wars 2 is a game I'll be playing for a long time, it has exactly what i want in rpgs.. crafting.. looting... dungeons... mining etc.

tbh throne's gvg looks sick, like ragnarok online vibes

So basically things are looking bleak for 24. Ok.

Got a new MMO for you to check out that launches this year! Brighter Shores, made by the Gower Brothers that created Runescape!

Isometric isn't something I'd ever want in a mmo personally, otherwise CorePunk might be interesting to me. Between that and the over-monetization of games, I guess 2024 will be another mmorpg-less year for me.

I do want to dip my toes into some of these, but uh, Dawntrail is slated for this summer, and will consume my soul............so ya, my new mmo for this year, will be my old mmo FFXIV.

My opinion: I think we'll have 3-5 good years on T&L (at most) before it gets too bad and/or we get something better.

Small chance it'll be another FF14, No Man's Sky, etc with a rough launch and then recovers over a couple of years. I'm not impressed with anything out of NCSoft the last decade other than GW2. I don't give it a year before we have all forgotten about it.

Also a sidenote to Tarisland is that it has NO character customization and classes are gender and character locked.

Bless up Corepunk im praying for success. Blue Protocol I'm definitely still staying Cautiously optimistic, I put in a good amount of time on JP. Moment to moment game play is amazing, content wise its... about as deep as a puddle and yeah i really hope AGS isnt lying about fixing monetization for Global cuz its.. a lot on JP. Fix the monetization itll be a great game to sink time into even with the lack of content variety.

People in US: is the game gonna be pay to win?? People in SEA: are they gonna be racist towards us and not gonna release its game on the SEA????

@Redbeardflynn lol I'm not gonna go hunt a source, if you really need one I'm sure you'll find one ;) But the skill bar works differently now. You get a 2nd bar essentially, dbl the slotted skills.

Man i usually dont care about when a game releases but this has been rediculous. Ashes of creation, blue protocol, core punk, throne and liberty... WHEN?!? I ask of thee. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO FREAKING SICK OF WAITING IN MY LIFE. ...... i cant be the only person hoping we get SOMETHING on a release date. Its getting old quick. Who wants to play an mmo thats been out 2 years elsewhere already? Idk im conflicted. Sorry :(

At least with Throne and Liberty it should be just a few months (unless it gets delayed again.) Localization *should* take time which I believe why it's probably closer to a year for Blue Protocol not to mention staggering it against the other AGS release of Throne and Liberty which has the benefit of being build with a global audience in mind.

Isnt it sad man. Im tired playing apex and guild war. I want something like mon hun world some kind like that as mmo. Imma pay em for things like dat .

I watched the Corepunk tests. That game is pure garbage and unless they change ALL the starting area, down time between mobs, and rework ALL the quests. No One will play Corepunk.
