Definitely the drop point. Serated blades suck to sharpen and they grab instead of cut, and the drop point is more versatile than the hawkbill.

I’m a big fan of the fastback utility and regular knives. Good value/quality etc…..

I have been carrying a Milwaukee Fastback pocket knife every day for 3 years now. Great knives, holds an edge, easy to sharpen.

I like all three but I think I'm going to get the hawkbill first then the drop point! Thanks for the vid! I like how secure the hawkbill feels when slicing open a box or plastic packaging,it stays in the kerf!

The hawkbill is awesome! It works well on cardboard boxes, fabric, rope, wire, and even small things like a plastic clamshell to a micro SD card.

The drop point but they all look good

A hawkbill does not strip Romex well hawk Bill strips ought cable as well as any round think cable

I like the Tonto spring assist.

Same here. I'd like to have the drop point in a spring assist too.

It’s really nice and interesting to see even Milwaukee try their hand at a “axis-lock” or a crossbar lock knife. Also it’s quite rare to find a knife with a crossbar, lock flipper tab and assisted opening all for a decent price. It’s nearly unheard of in the knife world so this fills a gap in the cutlery industry that knife people and average joes would appreciate all the same! The only gripe would be that it doesn’t have D2 steel like their hardline series. Excellent job Though I’m impressed!

I like the axis-lock on the Milwaukee knife. I'm thinking about getting the Milwaukee fixed blade with Aus-8 steel for my work corner wall.

It's a great edc. Not too big, but does a great job overall.

I have the original hawkbill and the camo drop point and a red skinnier drop point all great blades. I carry the drop point camo the most often though.

It's a great knife, probably one of my favorite edc knives.

If you need a dedicated package opener but don’t like dealing with disposable blades, I recommend the hawkbill

Haha, it's a hard choice. I find myself going to the hawk bill more. I think it's because someone said it looks like the raptor claw from Jurassic Park.

I have been meaning to buy one of those hawk bill knife. I want it to cut sheet goods and cut all kinds of stuff!

This is my first milwaukee knife ever, and it's way better than any Klein knife that I have ever have so far. It says that it stays sharp on the package, but I haven't put it through my normal day of cutting through all thread straps yet. I think the all thread will make it dull, so I need to learn how to and what to sharpen it with.

I use the drop point but would like it in spring assist. They won't sell humans switch blade up here in Canada though.

Spring assist is nice. If you can't have one in Canada, it's nice to have a folder with smooth action opening. I've tried a $200+ Zero Tolerance 0562 and it almost feels like a spring assist, it's that smooth.

Thank you Mike, I appreciate you! I use these Milwaukee knives all the time. Some are in my tool chest, some on a shelf, and some in a desk drawer. Are there any changes or a type of knife you would like to see? I'll be visiting Milwaukee again this summer and plan to talk with the product manager who oversees the knives.

THE CAMO ONE IS TIP UP AND TIP DOWN YOU JUST HAVE TO SWITCH THE WIRE TO THE OTHER END.

Are you able to close the blade using the button or do you have to depress the liner lock?

Some have a liner lock, one is an arc lock.

AXIS LOCK, Benchmade had exclusive use of the design until the patent expired a few years ago

So for me I have a Milwaukee and I've used it so much and there is still no blade play what so ever and it's the best go to knife for me but for your question I don't really like serrations because for me it's hard to sharpen it

I have the cannot one and I love it, I just want to know what happens if I need to sharpen it? I am an electrician and use it for boxes and to cut strapped off of all thread and pipe. I made a klein electrician knife very full from normal daily useage. I want to know if this knife is better

If you're wanting to sharpen the hawks bill knife, I've been looking at the Worksharp Ken Onion Angle Set with Tri-Brasive. It looks like the narrow abrasive will allow the curved blade to move through it easily. I've tried some other sharpeners but the sanding belts seem too wide and doing it by hand seems like the best option. Hope that helps.

I've owned plenty of both Milwaukee and Klein knifes and the Kleins are definitely a lot sharper than the Milwaukee. If you want a knife that your going to put through hell and do just about everything with and you know you're going to have to buy another one later I'd say get a Milwaukee or Husky but if you're set on using one for specific purposes and want it to last for a while I'd go with a Klein.

I'd like to point out that on the first and last knife, you can flip the clip to either side.

Seem like decent knives for the average joe that walks into Home Depot, I’ve bought a couple Milwaukee knives in the past but since I really got into knife, these are very low on the totem pole. If you want real knives with good quality blades, buy a knife from a knife company. If you want something to throw in your toolbox, these will work

I agree, this is great for the tool box or carrying around at a job site. It's not the same as a high end $200 knife, but still gets the job done and very affordable.

markthomasbuilder no. Let’s be totally honest, you don’t have to spend $200 for a decent knife. Most spyderco models are under $100, but even at that, you can get much better knives than these, plenty of Kershaws, honey badgers, ganzos, etc for $20-30 and they all have much better blade steel than standard Stainless steel, and use better scales materials (g10, carbon fiber or FRN) with much better designs.

I'm a fan of the drop point blade because of the consistence edge & blade angle all the way back. Like some of the comments that have been mentioned about the serrated and hawks bill edges can be a PITA to sharpen while on the go. My question to markthomasbuilder is just a suggestion in your future reviews, if you could go one step further is to find out a what angle does the manufacture sharpen their blades at. Myself and others have guessed at what angles our blades are sharpen at and have screwed the edge even more, at guessing at the angle, just to bring it back to factory keen sharpness. Just a suggestion, thanks for reviewing.

I Use Lanyards in almost all my knives. I dont like partially serrated knives I always go with bright colours. Im a dumbass im constantly loosing knives... each year.... at least

My son has a karambit folder. They're very intimidating.

I bought the camo knife today and returned it after getting home and opening the package.The printing on package is miss leading, you think it opens with button , but it doesn't. It's just blade lock release. doesn't just flip out at all. There's no getting used to it.

Good deal man.... appreciate the video. I think I'll drop the change on that hawkbill. Many thanks for the education..... Thumbs up.....and a Sub. The serrations on a blade just totally depend on what I'm doing. I pack three knives every day...all day. None of them are serrated..... BUT..... I also carry a matriarch 2 from Spyderco....and it's a hawkbill fully serrated blade.... I use it in places I can't take my pew legally..... Serrations are better for cutting deep......I've always heard...and it seems to be true.

I agree. My first pocket knife I purchased was serrated but they are harder to sharpen so I now stick with straight blades. I would only choose a serrated if I was cutting thicker rope often (which I do not). I like the Milwaukee D2 Steel smooth blade for my pocket knife. Spring assisted knives are banned in Canada so I can't comment there.

Never use a hawk knife for stripping home wire. You are stripping off coating where you don't want to.

@@MarkThomasBuilder It isn't good to use on multiple wires as it nicks the coatings when separating them. Not really good on any wiring. Not enough control with it. There is a proper tool for the job and that ain't it. If I seen an electrician using one on my job site I would kick him off the job. One small scrape in the coating and you risk an arc.

Using a knife to strip cable is fine as long as you know how to strip cable without compromising the insulation on the conductors. I used to use a knife for flex and swa cable.

Drop point blade is what I would go for, BUT I've never understood camouflage on items like this. Don't drop it in the grass!

I'm finding myself using the hawkbill knife quite a bit. $14.97 is very reasonable in my opinion. Milwaukee also offers Hardline knives in D2 steel.

@@MarkThomasBuilder It would be very helpful to me if you could find and review similar knives that are Made In USA or other non-CCP countries. I prefer the design of these Milwaukee knives, not only the price, so I'd pay much more for something that provided good salaries and a tax base to people in a non-authoritarian country. My Kershaw knife is just not as handy.
