NEW MIATA! We had NO IDEA we bought a 1 of 300 M2 CAR!

When buying a car from Japan, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. THIS WAS A WIN! What a crazy car. 1-300 M2-1028's ever produced and I had no idea when I bought it. Fully built motor with MOTEC andI ITB's! What an early Christmas.

Super cool find! As a miata nerd, definitely jealous of any M2. That bolt coming off the oil pan looks like it used to be for an oil drain, almost 99% of boosted miata’s use that spot in the pan. Guessing the car was turbo at one point.

i have some Brochures from that vintage. your model is the competition one from factory. it translates as this. M2-1028 "Street Competition" Roadster AKA Clubman-2 (FEB-94) Limited 1/300 M2-CORP released it's third Roadster in early 1994, based on the original "Jinba Ittai" concept made by Toshihiko Hirai. This was the track ready Competition Roadster. (The USA got a simpler version known as the R-Package. ) Offered in Chaste White or Brilliant Black only, this Roadster used the new 1.8L powerplant with upgraded pistons, and camshafts, and other similar goodies as the previous 1001, & 1002. However this Roadster had an output of close to 140hp!! It included 14" Eunos Factory Rims with a unique gunmetal paint with polished lip, this same lighter hollowspoke was found on some of the US-Spec Miatas. Some of the features here were a new set of lightweight side mirrors, MOMO Steering Wheel, Centerless console, Racing seats, racing tow hook, Lightweight Aluminum Shock Tower Brace, a set of front & rear lower lip spoilers, (R-Package) a newly designed (Aluminum) "Duck-Tail" trunklid with integrated spoiler (the M2-1028 trunklid was made from aluminium and weighed only 7.7-lbs. very light weight from original lid 15.5-lbs. ). Similar design used on the NB's. Also came with a 6-point rollcage, but no soft-top (instead, you got a tarp that stretched over the cage). With optional FRP Hardtop with plexiglass rear window for more weight savings coming in at only 19-lbs. Garage Vary is actually making those bodykits from the M2 CORP days. that is a really really rare car now since most ones are trashed, also that is a factory outspec'd one, the roof and side windows are vintage M2 optionals only, so most cars did not have them, also I think your car is around 150-160hp, since the 1028 came with 140hp from M2. those itb's should be making 10-15hp more.

@@beratsbuilds yeah, they had a few models, the 1001's and 1002's were the most known about, but each one directed at a niche, the 1001's were weekend racers, the 1002's more of a gentleman's weekend cruiser, the 1028 that Chelsea has is a comp car, but they made a lot of different kinds, even a coupe and sedan versions of miatas. the 90's were crazy.

When you delete the ps pump u have to keep a few bolts in to prevent oil leaks. I don’t know for sure but maybe it’s a later 1999 NB engine with the better flowing head?

This is a very cool Eunos, congrats man, a few things to note, some of these have more than likely been answered already, 9:14 that's where the air con pump has been removed, the bolt is sealing an oil passage. As mentioned previously, that could well have some maruha parts on it, possibly even a crank, if you are doing the timing belt in it, check the length of the crank snout, the maruha ones are longer than the stock one (6mm stock 14 mm Maruha), if it is, it could be an 87mm crank, cams could be anything. very cool car though sounds incredible.

Really cool car! I have had 4 miatas. I was getting into Autocross heavy then the BMX cause back surgery now it's RC cars cause I can't push a clutch no more. Huge bummer. Have you ever had xidia 949 racing suspension? I assume your going with the BC but man did the Xidia's ride nice for a street car with 500lb front springs and 350 in the rear. The rebound knobs actually made a huge difference being able to go from like 7 clicks for street then bumping it up to 9 clicks it was ready to do track days. Any glad to see the Miata getting love.
