The price for a 64kWh battery and over 200hp on the one hand, and the overdelivering on the fun side of things (RWD, 50:50 weight, modern minimal interior, more exciting design than the Stellantis or Volkswagen competition, full of features, 7 year warranty) made me actually go ahead and order this, it’s gonna be the first brand new car I own. There’s just never been anything like this before in the EV market.

I have a VW E-golf and the MG4 is the car I've been waiting for. I want one too, I don't see any downside. They did it perfectly unlike the ID3 etc.

@@siasek The id3 may not be perfect, and no car is. Having tried the MG4 I would be concerned about no rear wiper on muddy winter roads, more worrying the missing centre head restraint, which makes it a 4 seater, unless whiplash no longer matters, and I was looking for towing capability, but 500 kg just doesn't cut it.

I think the fact that the MG4 can have a towbar is a miracle for the price. Realistically, it really is a 4-seater, who would want to ride in five people in a small city hatchback? For the occasional transfer of 5 people, it will certainly work without the back rest, that's probably the last thing I would deal with the car.
Yeah, it’s a cracking wee car! For advice and chat, I recommend joining the MG EV forum (MG4 sub forum).

Thanks for sharing that. Hard to argue with it, might end up on the shortlist when it comes time to trade in our old LEAF!
Voiture correcte à prix correct. Bonne vidéo merci

De rien!
Great video - Thanks - Ordered the trophy version in Camden Grey last Saturday here in Suffolk- Only downside is will have to purchase a type 2 charge cable separately as it only comes with the 3 pin charge cable commonly known as a granny cable . Also wary about news regarding some oil leaks from the motor which MG (SAIC )are addressing (Yes sounds strange but motor driving rear wheels contains certain amount of some type of oil or Fluid) .

UK models are currently coming with a Type 2 charge cable as MG can't get reliable parts supply to provide the "granny" charge cable. (I have an SE SR in Camden Grey on order - hopefully getting it next week)

That's interesting, thanks for sharing Steve! Some real supply-chain challenges for all manufacturers at the moment!

@@InBodWeTrust Hi Ian Thanks for your reply 👍I’ll look into the cable matter.As far as delivery goes was told 14 weeks.
Do we have any dealerships to view, buy n service these motors…? I still get astonished when peaps that work with cars talk about “wing mirrors” 😳 1960’s saw the last wing mirrors 🤷🏻♂️ LOL 😂

Not sure where you're based but there's certainly a few dealers here in Ireland. Wing mirrors is bet into me, part of the vernacular I'll never be able to let go of! Thanks for the comment, and hope you enjoyed the video!
There are a lot of MG4 owners complaining of oil leaks from the rear of the car and at the moment there is no answer from MG China, this fault is still being investigated.
@Dawheel90

Apparently, those leaks are due to an over-filling of oil in most cases

They're fully aware of it anyway. We'll see how it gets handled over the coming weeks. Thanks for the comment, Alan!
