This is one of the BEST UI's ever on a display like this, there is always something tacky with other Chinese displays. I wish they made this in a rectangular format such as the 4.6 or 5.2 inch screens. If the price was more reasonable, like $200ish, and it was rectangular I would buy it in a heartbeat!

I am one of those who always commented about the UI being so tacky. But this one is very good, almost perfect in terms of UI. They really nailed it! Unfortunately it is too big for my liking (I know so many people so many wishes) and how intrusive it is to install. Improvement points for me: 1) Just a small normal rectangular one at around 150$ will be selling like crazy (no need for apple carplay, just a simple one) 2) adapted to just use the mid tunnel CAN (below mid armrest), and make it so you dont have to remove the steering column. Something that you can just remove easily if you want to bring your car for a service.

Man, your opinions on this device matched mine entirely. The price is really the only negative that I can see that would dissuade me from buying this. NOW, if they want to show my side camera views when initiating turns on that display? That would be the game changer. I still wouldn't pay $500 for it, but it would add WAY more value, personally speaking. So far, no manufacturer has been able to integrate turn camera views in these displays, and that's why I'm holding off. I must conclude by saying that this is the most attractive steering wheel attached front display I've seen you review so far. It looks great and the graphics are beautiful. Love the shadowing of the speedo needle during day mode. I also think the bullet shape in the rear might help with airflow from the dash, whereas the rectangular flat displays would potentially block more airflow from the vent. With a few more refinements, I could see me buying one of these, eventually.

Thank you so much my friend for always watching my videos and supporting the channel. I had that conversation about the side cameras with so many engineers and they all tell me that the camera feed isn't possible. As per them, there is no Y connector for the camera plug and even if there was, it wouldn't work. The speed etc signal is easy to extract as those are just information with specific codes but the camera feed is not something we can extract using a code, it is hardwired within the Tesla screen. There was a company that was making some great progress adding camera underneath the side mirrors and showing blind spot camera view that way, but they went MIA on me, so assuming the product didn't make sense...I still hope someone makes that work though :)

Does this have the “Hanshow accelerate your life” boot screen or similar? Great videos by the way, always look to see if you’ve reviewed it before I buy.

How does it handle the autopilot speed change commands? If I were to increase the autopilot speed, would it take it as I want to open the settings page? I can see that being a problem.

I looked at the Teslasy website and they mention two features that you did not demo: (1) a hud that projects on the windshield, and (2) display of navigation information. Does this display have a warning indicator to keep your hands on the steering wheel while in Autopilot, similar to the blue warning at the top of the main screen? I love the UI.

I’m old school and like the analog speedo in the smaller round dial. One of my gripes with the 3/Y is the lack of blind spot indicators on the mirror/A pillar. Could they get this to indicate blind spot on the left and right side of the screen?

I'm looking for one of these devices to show Wh/mi rating: instant & Avg.

I have a question about the regen bar along the circumference of the UI. Does it match the regen bar on the main display? I frequently look at it when I am trying to hyper mileage.

Thanks for another great display review. I like this one, a little pricey but the quality seems good. The question I have for you is do you ever suggest to these companies that they display the speed limit emblem in the USA format instead of the European format? Or at least give the option so it is good for all markets? I have only seen you review one display that shows the speed limit in the USA format but the rest all had that annoying red circle and European style. Unfortunately the display you reviewed with the USA format speed limit blocks airflow. I know that because my friend purchased it.

The coolest UI they have is the old school analogue dial. I would run that all the time except IT'S THE ONLY ONE THAT DOESNT HAVE THE REGEN METER! Whyyyyyyyyyy

Great point about the vents. I guess you would just have to split the vents instead, then point them towards your face.

Their website also has an retractable electric sunshade for the Model Y! Would love to see them send you that to review on your channel!

When I first installed my auxiliary display a few years back, we were told to unplug the 12V battery and disconnect the high-volt battery. Still, I see you and a few other installers leave the power on when you unplug the computer for the bypass jumper. Is that now officially OK, or should I disconnect the 12V and the high voltage before installation? Thank you again for a great demonstration.

I installed it and never shut down anything. It's totally fine. I saw it done both ways and am too lazy, so I went the easy way out, and it was a simple project.

Thanks, Shiva. I have a rectangular one and love it. This one, IMHO, looks hideous. Colors are oem, but certainly, it doesn't flow with Tesla lines. I know guys who throw tachs and stuff on their ICE race cars. This looks exactly like it. Maybe they'll go for it. ✌️

@davejohnson6144 yeah, I bought the small one attached to the steering wheel column. It's perfect. The big one is ok, but totally blocks airflow. Cool design in the tesla, but inferior air conditioning in a practical sense.

What’s the deal with all the instrument clustersin terms of warranty.Does this void the 4 year warranty. Do we need to remove these before we take the car to regular service appointments ?

Does it show the "wheel nag" alert warning? That's my biggest gripe with FSD is the stupid tiny notice at the bottom corner in the main display. I don't think any of these driver displays show this warning.

This doesn't work with FSD sorry! It only shows nag with basic autopilot.

With the update 2024.20.1 the display is not syncronized with the battery percent and the km of the car

For 500 it should work out of the box. Might as well get the flip that charges as well for the fraction. Next up new hansshow mini with touchscreen to open the glovebox. Why can't they just make a wheel mount mini touchscreen with carplay/android already?

This looks nice and i am sure its a nice product ... but for that PRICE!? Many much cheaper options that give you the same info. Overpriced i am thinking.

The autopilot indicator works on regular autopilot but not on FSD beta. It is a bit bigger than other displays for sure. Thank you

One day people will wake up and realise that having a laptop as a vehicles central and only display is far from ideal but the first indication that not everyone is convinced is when an entire third-party retrofit industry is created resolving the OEM's short falls. Does anyone really think that multiple taps of a touch screen is better than pressing one purpose built button and that having to take the eyes off the road to use a touch sensitive screen is in any way improving road safety? Many countries have started to ban the use of mobile phones for precisely that reason. The Yoke steering wheel has been tried countless times, it makes sense in an aircraft or a race car but not in road car unless it is going to be over-engineered like in the Lexus, but even there, is having a vastly more complicated system ever worth it? Can we expect a Joy stick next?

Definitely the best UI design by far, but the price is way too high and also design of it does not match the tesla interior. Still waiting for the day someone makes a good UI for one of the better designed clusters that have previously come out.

This is something I don’t get. Why try to make a Tesla have all these different types of features that ALMOST every car has? My Tesla is absolutely different than most cars out there. Thts one of the reasons I brought it. Half the stuff you’re trying to pedal already exists in the main console.
