Nobody asked for the European Union to implement stricter emission regulations either which is said to be even tougher in July 2025. Car manufacturers are trying to work around it so we are in that transitional phase, that's why MB has gone down this same road. This is the result of that. Would have thought this information would be common sense to most ppl but it appears its not 😂😂

Simple physics, a 2.6-ton mass cannot move with agility, not even with so much technological assistance. It’s a real shame that car brands, in general, are focusing more on big screens, interior lights, etc., rather than on the true pleasure of driving.

All curb weights have gone up for production cars... 1. Crash safety requirements and structural reinforcement adds weight. 2. Buyers want all the latest technological gadgets and add-ons options as standard, those add weight. 3. Buyers want all the luxurious amenities like 8-way seats, heated seats and steering wheel in winter, air-cooled seats in the summer, entertainment for backseat passengers, etc... And it adds even more weight.

Marketing. Marketing drives weight. That and government safety requirements.

The amount of braking power it takes to support that weight

Everything is perfect regarding the car in this particular video!

That car is awfully quiet and the extra weight is really making the tires and brakes work hard

The only reason most are focused on how they think this thing is moving slower that it actually is, is because we’ve been told how much it weighs. We see how it does when you put it up against the competition. And we already know BMW always has some tricks up its sleeves and will not let this beast fall by the wayside, regardless of how much it weighs. Believe That!

@@TassieLorenzo BMW always under-report zero to sixty. It also has the instant torque of EV tech in there… the mid-range will be very strong. Sure, it’s not a track car, get an M2C if you want a track car. For most use cases: Business / Family travel & the added bonus of zero fuel costs when doing local trips… it ticks a lot of boxes.

How heavy is that thing? I wasn't really blown away by this M5.
