I think the owl and jellyfish look more realistic than the others. Last year was cute! But if people don’t care it’s alright still the formula is the best. I feel like the Hourglass is the most anticipated palette every holiday.

Great review! Love mine but I am a "makeup minimalist" so I truly only keep 1 outstanding product in each category. Hourglass powders just do it for me, so it's super worth it for me. I buy 1 each year and I'm good to go 😊

they should expand on the customization aspect. Like if the rearranged palettes do not suit you, you should have the option to customize the blush, bronzer, highlighter, and setting shades. that way they’re not stuck with extra inventory if some colorways aren’t selling as expected but also it’d be inclusive ?

I got the Jellyfish in Owl packaging. The Owl is beautiful but it’s not very crisply reproduced on the packaging. This is my first Hourglass palette. I’ve had different single powders over the years, but never a palette. I’m traveling a lot this fall and I thought it would be great to have to cut down oh having to bring a lot of other products, so I decided to take the plunge. Plus the owl packaging is beautiful. I regretted it the first time I put it on my face. The powders are absolutely lovely, but I didn’t need almost 2 identical blushes, and I don’t really like the bronzer shade. If everything else was perfect, I’d just suck it up with the bronzer shade, but it’s not. I wish they’d put 2 blushes that were different from each other-like one warm and one cool. Im sad they are both so pink because I don’t wear a ton of pinks in the fall. So if I bring this palette with me traveling I still need to bring warm blush. The highlighter is pretty and I’ll use it, but I have a lot of highlighters so I didn’t NEED it. Also it’s very pink. I hope I’ll get more use out of the 2 identical blushes and pink highlighter in the spring. I honestly wish I’d just bough an individual of the Diffused Light powder, an individual blush in a color I didn’t already have but would use like crazy this fall, and a pretty owl print to hang on the wall. That would have been a much better purchase for me, money wise. Lesson learned!!!

I wish the lid would stay open. Thanks for sharing that. I’m happy this jellyfish fits your complexion better so I think you will get even more use with that one. If they do more variety in their shade range for their face palettes, I think they would appeal a lot more people. Also, I’m hoping they stay in stock for a while because I been wanting to get their face palette for a whileeeeeeee. Thank you for always giving the best reviews! 😘🤗💗

I didn’t get any of last years or the year before so I did buy 2 this year ! It’s expensive but…..singles are $40-$50 like haus labs and Gucci for blushes so I did get the deepest for the blushes and love them ! The lightest is my everyday and travel … But like I said I don’t have the last 2 years so it was very justified for me ! ❤❤❤ going through HRT and losing my hair also just like I did with my 2 children who are now 13 and 11 I feel ya on that girl !! Loved your review as always !! 😊

I do love the Hourglass palettes. The powders are amazing. I won't buy next years if it's the same as this years and last years 😊

The packaging is stunning too

Girl you got the same palette three times 😅 But you seem to use these palettes a lot so I don’t think it’s a waste. I have the Elephant and the Tiger from last year and I forgot I had them but I’ve been using them lately. I can’t decide between the first color story and the second. And I’m deciding between the leopard and the snake packaging.

Thank you for being honest about the palettes! I don't know why these are so tempting, even though we all know better! You're right -- it's better to buy a single of the ambient powder that we'll actually use than to spend $90 for blushes and bronzers that won't really work (and buying something for the cute packaging really serves no purpose). I know if I bought this that I still would use all of the individual bronzers and blushes I have since I like those better, so this would be a waste. I had the Elephant and Tiger from last year, and I ended up selling them. So I need to be strong this year and resist!

I’m fair like you and purchased the snake darker palette because I felt the ghost edit palette I have looked so much like the jellyfish (that would probably suit me better). I just LOVED the coral shades of the snake palette w 5 out of 6 shades being NEW and hope I can use a super light touch to make it work for me ☺️

Hi lovely! I got the leopard one /leopard color story. It's my first one so I think I will be okay. But for people that already own their products I can see it can be redundant. Even in the leopard all the blushes are pink, the one that looks mauvy on skin looks exactly the same. I wish they had added something on the line of Milani's Luminoso, I wear more corals than pinks. Anyway! I ordered the 7th and they just shipped yesterday, hopefully I get it this year haha. Cheers!

I ordered the customized Snake palette with the light colors that are in the Jellyfish palette and the snake artwork is beautiful on a light blue background. I really like the makeup colors in this palette as well. But I agree with you, Diffused Heat should not have been included in this palette because it looks too much like the new Rose Fusion blush. I did order the Veil snake brush as well and they make a beautiful set.

@@brittanyrae_beauty Yes, I love my new Snake palette with the Color Story #1. The only repeat powder that I have is Diffused light finishing powder, But I don't mind this. Like I said my only gripe is that Diffused Heat could have been something else. There's that beautiful magenta blush that's been sold out on their website forever. That would have been a nice cool toned blush to put into this cool-toned palette. I love that the bronzer is a matte neutral color and doesn't have any sheen in it. I hate a glimmering bronzer. I prefer matte bronzers either cream or powder.

You should just buy the single blushes, setting powders, etc. Feel that these palettes are made for someone who is starting with makeup and don't have everything they need or for a makeup artist who needs to have palettes.

The medium palette has no new shades, I think. But they list on the website what shades are new and what aren’t

i’m holding off for now, hopefully with less interest these will be on sale by christmas and i can get it for significantly less 💰

I also got this palette when I was in a really bad mood, which didn't help lol. I know I will use it everyday but still!!! I'm not buying these anymore. I wish we could customize.

You have a lovely face but if I may suggest, try to bronze your face keeping the brush from the end of the handle (sorry for my english, hope I am saying this correctly). The point that I am trying to make is that you may be putting too much pressure on the handle which as a result layers too much product on your face. Try using less pressure, be more light handed and you will see how much more flawless the end result would be. Less is more in makeup. There is a makeup artist (youtuber) Tania B. Wells. I would recommend you to watch her videos. She is one of a few true make up artist in youtube and the techniques she uses can make all the difference when it comes to makeup. ;) I do agree however that Hourglass need to come up with new colors, there is a repetition pattern and in general pink seems to be the theme especially with all the Barbie Hollywood vibe going on unfortunately. I mean how many pink blushes or eyeshadows one needs after all?! I loved the snake palette but unfortunately I cannot pull it off as I have a very light skin tone, but yeah I get your point. Thanks for the video and keep going.

I can go for either the leopard or snake palette. But I think I’ll be skipping this year’s release. The leopard palette is not new, with the exception of just one shade. But I have so many blushes that it’s not worth it. And the snake one is too orangey from the reviews I’ve seen. I agree that they really need to work on a cooler tone bronzer.

I have been buying hourglass since they came out and I just buy the full sizes of what I like. I don’t buy these
