I only own a single blush from hourglass, I do have the foundation and concealer etc. As far as palettes go, I missed last years and was so devastated. So this year I bought the Owl with Jellyfish colors! Owls have significant spiritual meaning in different cultures, as a hospice nurse that one was a must have!

Thanks for the video! I don’t understand why they only add orange blushes in the deepest palettes , same last year with the tiger. It would be ideal to have more blush variety in all palettes.

A lot of people are wondering also why some pallets have three blushes.

I got the Leopard. Mood exposure is my favourite blush from them. And I have just 1 palette- the Elephant, and I believe only Dim light is a repeat to that palette? Not sure- it is too confusing how they do these! And it is my favourite under eye setting powder, so I can have multiples!!! I still wish Hourglass would make these refillable and customizable. Not only that you can pick 6 shades they curated, but that they would have minis of each shade ( plus some new) and then you can buy whatever shades you want and pop them in the same case as these cases are beautiful and should be re used!! Cmon Hourglass! Listen to your consumers! Also do darker shades for the love of.....For the prices they charge they should be more willing to meet consumer in the middle. The owl packaging is so cute!!! I do not think I can get 2 this year, but I would definitely replace Snake with Owl if I could!! I went with Leopard for the love of cats I have😂

Leopard is my favorite!! You know, they did allow eyeshadow customization when they did the eye shades. Maybe one day they’ll do it in the face palettes too!

I desperately want to get the owl but I don’t know if they would sell it to me empty. I knew I needed to just stick to the pallets the way they are organized on the website to make it easier for people but the owl just beckons to me.

I appreciate the heavy face swatches, I can never tell the color of things when people apply it regularly.

I've been waiting for these! I love the dim light and mood exposure from their line. The combinations they selected are not my choice. It's a perk to go directly to the Hourglass site for that owl palette container, but $90 is terribly high when I'm not in love with all shades in the snake-octopus-leopard groupings. Thanks Rebecca for your swift review, thorough and educational too! My only wish is that you put the blushes only on one side so you could put the 2nd on the other side.

Yes. I don’t know why I put blush on both sides of the face in the first one. I stayed awake the night I recorded it upset at myself for not organizing it differently. I am my own worst critic ha ha.

I bought the snake palette because of the beautiful shades and I have so many of the other shades. I can't wait!!

I LOVE that they give the option of letting you choose your own packaging art with your choice of the set refills. Would be even cooler if you could customize each of the six shades, but of course that's a bit of an ask for a big brand like Hourglass (could see an indie brand doing something like that, though!). I won't be picking this up, because I'm not a powder brush/bronzer girlie, but I will drool over that snake packaging from afar. 😂 Thanks for the thorough review, as always!

Last year, I passed on all three. This year, I picked up all three, but I need to see if the Snake palette is too deep for me. I’m definitely Light, not fair, sometimes Light Medium (in summer), but usually Light. And always a cool undertone (although if not too yellow, I can sometimes do a neutral undertone). I really like all of the pink/rosy leaning shades. I’m most excited about the lightest palette (I think the Jellyfish).

Hello Rabbi! I am still confused as to why I am so drawn to that tiger palette when I have pretty much all the shades already but they are so nice when they are all together and for the light medium skintone. You will have to experiment with the snake and see what you think. You might end up using it on eyes mostly and on the rest of the face with a very very light hand. It’s also so warm. But all three of these are so gorgeous.

I laughed so hard right now. It is so funny because those swatches get some people so heated. Very few people because we really have a polite super nice community but there are people who are honestly yelling at me that I shouldn’t be doing that and how it disturbs them. So when I saw you say that you wore yours to work that way because you mistook it for a tutorial, I literally choked. That is hilarious. And absolutely I’ll do the swatches!

Good morning Rebecca 🦋 I must admit, my mornings are almost always coffee and YT and if you have uploaded, you always get my first pick. I am positive many of us are the same 💜Excellent review and oh so timely - thank you. Okay, so here I sit eating my words (to myself of course), as my initial thoughts on these before seeing them in action was kind of meh. I think that’s why I end up using the leopard in the video it’s kind of just right for that light medium neutral skin tone. And it was gorgeous all day long. But, you know, for a lot of collectors those shades are mostly repeats. They’re just so nice together

I am LOVING the Leopard.

You've done an excellent job demonstrating the colors of the palettes. I have an idea for future videos that I'd find helpful. If you're going to devote a whole palette to the face perhaps do half the face with the exaggerated color effect & the other side in a more subdued everyday type of look. As someone who is lighter it would be helpful to see the color tamed down to know how it would look on me. The jellyfish appears to be the best fit for me & I could use another face powder so having 2 would useful. I honestly could do without the bronzer but many people want them so I understand the reasoning for adding it to the palette. So many bronzers go orangey on me or just look off. I appreciate being able to pick the package but imagine being able to customize the products inside! I'd be happy being able to just pick from what they have but being able to swap out that bronzer for anything else. Just wishful thinking on my part. 🧚

I think it’s a step in the right direction, but still gotta be more inclusive imo. That bronzer won’t do anything on darker skintones, hopefully they can use it as a topper or something.

It’s so hard for me to choose. I am medium with an olive undertone. I was really going for the jellyfish, but hearing your video makes me pause possibly for the leopard. I own one other face pallet from Hourglass (Sculpture), and it looks amazing on me.

I have never bought one of these Hourglass palettes before because I am very pale and cool-toned and their bronzers never work well and a lot of stuff is too dark and warm for me, though I do love the white powder and one of the blushes (forget the names). I'm so glad that Hourglass is starting to listen to their customers. These new deeper shades are packing a punch! I am glad that more people will be able to find a palette that works for them❤I picked up the lightest palette in the Owl case, it is STUNNING! I was tempted to buy the snake palette, but it really is way too deep for my fair cool skin tone. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of swatching all of these shades. I know this was a lot of work putting on and removing all of these palettes😊

You with those bright blushes looked like me after 2 glasses of wine 😂 I'm super fair, but I just ordered all 3 palettes. I don't have many blush shades from Hourglass, and I think I can make most of these work with a really light application, except the highlighter in the snake. The blushes in the snake were so pretty though, I couldn't skip them again this year.

This is as such a fantastic and thorough review! ❤Thank you so much for demonstrating each one on the face! It’s so helpful. I actually loved the Jaguar and Snake on your eyes! I also thank you for forgoing the beautiful owl packaging so we wouldn’t be confused during your review! You took one for the team! I have never had an Hourglass palette before. 😮I’ve had lots of their blushes and finishing powders, but never a palette. I’m usually not good at using face palettes. I just don’t think to reach for them. I don’t know where to store them, etc. I held off last year (and kind of regretted it) but this is my year!!! I got the jellyfish in the owl packaging. I’d maybe like to get a second one in the jaguar packaging and your video has helped me decide it will be the actual Jaguar if I do it. This means I can get it using Ulta points if they come to Ulta or during the Sephora sale if they come there. I really wanted to get the Snake inside because of the blushes, but I think it will just be too dark for me to use anywhere but on the eyes otherwise. But I’ll be able to use the Jaguar on my face with a light hand! I’m going to see if I get decent use out of my jellyfish in owl’s clothing and if I do, I’ll get the second one!

The snake is my favorite… To look at. I don’t believe it will be my favorite to use. It just involves too much restraint on my skin tone and we all know that restraint is something I do not have!

I haven’t bought ambient lighting powders in years but I enjoyed them when I had them. I use a lot creams. The leopard pallet has my some of my favorites. I may get it during the Sephora sale. And I keep coming back here to stare at them 😊

⏳🦉⏳🦉⏳🦉 ya know I love owls too!! Used to have three come down from a tree every summer evening around dusk & sit on my fence. They would sit there and look at me til they flew off up into another tree. I named them Hoot, Scoot & Boot 🥰🦉 This has nothing to do with this release but I'm not interested in these tho the Jellyfish cover is gorgeous & ethereal. I just never use powders, bronzers or highlighters & I have a ton of blush... including Mood Exposure 💜

I had the weirdest thing happen once a few years ago. It was daytime and a great horned owl was sitting in the tree on my front lawn. During the day! And then, an hour later, a hawk sat next to it about a foot or two away but in the same tree. And there was just a hawk and an owl sitting next to each other basically two competitors. Two hunters. It was just so weird and I was standing out there staring up at them, mind you I live in a beach city so it’s not rural, and a coyote ran across in front of me. And I’m just like what is the universe trying to tell me? And I have pondered this for like three years now

I ordered the darkest(snake) palette but with the owl cover. No way do I want to see a snake in the morning when putting on my makeup for the day 😂. I am a shade twin to you so will have to use it sparingly, but the shades looked so pretty. I may pick up the cheetah one in the Sephora sale if it’s still around but I didn’t want to miss out on the new shades and had to order from hourglass anyway to get the different cover. Ideally the snake would be for me BUT I have the tiger from last year and I don't know if this is different enough also it looks like all 6 shades have some level of shimmery which is not my preference in a full face palette.
