I like these. I can see these being an option for replacing air cylinders on large retracts

Can you control how much throw the arms extend or is it just out and in?

what kind of servo/linear actuators do airplane spoilers use? how can they extend that fast?

I am building an autonomous boat using pixahwk flight controller. How do I go about connecting the pixhawk with the linear servo? Do I need a separate power source for the servo but get the signal cable from the Pixhawk?

We are unfortunately don't have much info on the Pixhawk controller, if you would email our techs with some specifications and links they may be able to look into that for you! You can reach them at tech@servocity.com

These servos can draw >500mA so yes you should use a separate power supply for the servos. Make sure the grounds are connected between the servo power and the pixhawk PWM output.

These are just rebranded acutronix actuators?

We need a 12v version with dedicated power leads. 6v via servo lead is insufficient for a number of high-intensity usage cases.

We make and sell 12v Heavy-Duty Linear Servos. They are much higher load and power versions for those high-intensity use cases! www.servocity.com/heavy-duty-linear-servos/

@@ServoCity Problem is they're too big and heavy for some applications. There's a massive gap between the 6v compacts and 12v heavy-duty units.

Hello, That all depends on your controller! The linear servos can create the movement needed.

Easy my man. All you need is a simple programmable servo PID such as the Pololu maestro. Check them out, this is what you're after.

Hitec copies other companies products! Their new linear series is a direct copy of Actuonix Motion Devices linear servos that Actuonix has been making since 2008! Why buy from a company that can't innovate and develop their own stuff?

@@77Avadon77 Having used hitec servos extensively in a number of projects, I can say you're full of crap on a general level, but then again I go with their metal-geared servos at minimum because plastic gear servos across the board are garbage and should NEVER be purchased. That being said, these are a new and untested product from Hitec so there's always the chance they could be lemons.
