NEW Flexible Polymer Clay! - Beta Testing!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In the 9 years I've been here on KZread, this has got to be the coolest thing to ever happen to me... I've been invited to Beta Test a NEW kind of polymer clay. So what's new about it? It's flexible! That's right, no more broken tiny parts! Or how about being able to move parts out of your way during painting? These are just two examples why this is HUGE! It would mean the world to me if you dropped in on this video to let me know what you think about this. Listen to what I have to say (it was a little hard talking with me being so excited btw lol) I could really use the feed back, now more than ever. I miss you guys and have a lot of work to do restoring this channel. I'll need a little help though, all I'm asking is to watch this video and leave a comment. Feel free to like it too if that's your thing :D Let me know if you're signing up for the newsletter or not. Are you interested in flexible clay? I am!
Subscribe and hit that bell for new content! This could prove to be VERY interesting so become part of the family today!

I just posted an update on what's coming NEXT on this channel on the Community Tab of my KZread channel, here's the link: kzread.info/dron/gan2vsUmCqmMKs8raRbHBA.htmlcommunity You should really check it out if you're curious about this new clay!! It's gonna be fun!
Come on guys, chat with me about this new clay? Looking forward to hearing from you... :D

This is seriously neat! I love making figurines with polymer clay. It would really help with the tiny brittle pieces on spiky dragons and creatures with horns. It could also help make some amazing moveable parts, potentially!

I really appreciate you letting me know. This is weird, I watched it like 3 times on my PC before uploading but I'll double check my mic/camera/editing program settings to see if it's anything to do with that.
Gratitudes for introducing this new product. In addition to making Stop-Motion animated characters, can Monster Clay also be used to make costume masks, gloves, prop devices, etc? I'm interested in making an Outworlder costume to promote my Gotham Filmwerks channel and also creating characters, vehicles and props for future productions.

Sound very cool!
This is really exciting! It reminds me of trying Lumina, which is an air-dry polymer clay that remains flexible. Great for flower petals and fins, etc. BUT the downside is (in my experience) you have to work really fast. Once cured, it is indeed pretty durable, but I've ended up with unusable cured chunks of it by not planning out how much I would need for a project. (I learned to work in small pieces at a time.) But this Cosplay looks like the best of both worlds - flexibility combined with the fact that you can bake it, so the pressure is off. :D Thank you for sharing this!

Hey thanks for stopping by! I had to goggle that cause I never heard of it, also I never heard of sculpey bake n bend either prior to uploading this video lol.. oopsies! That's twice now I made an inaccurate statement on KZread (last time being I though I invented the pixel cane method) oh well, it happens. Ya it says Lumina is air-dry clay, one thing I've found is air-dry is very hard to work with, the most obvious reason being it drys up too soon, but also, the amount of shrinkage they do makes it very complicated to use (can't use an armature for example) but I don't know if that's the case with Lumina tho, haven't used it. I want to thank you again for checking this out, this video is rather boring due to I'm just announcing stuff to channel. But the sculpting is always fun, and on a blue moon I sneak in some stopmotion :D BTW I find your channel VERY interesting to watch AND listen to!
Never thought I would be seeing flexible and polymer clay in the same sentence. I have so many things I can use this for costuming elements. Depending on the weight will determine whether I use it for a certain part. It might even make one of my designs far more easy to make.
Thanks for posting! It’s good to see you. I’m excited to see what you find out about this new clay!
I went ahead and ordered a package. It's definitely made for bigger sculptures and such as well as for cosplay. What I am interested in is how it takes color (it's obvious it needs painted as it only come in one color), and what type of pigment/paint one needs to use, also, before baking, after baking, etc. Seems like a happy mix between super sculpey and Bake and bend. I'll let you know on FB how it goes

Hi! I have some good news, they are working on colors too! :D I just wanted to know what exactly it is you ordered? This clay is not yet available to the public (I'm just beta testing it, that's how I got it) so I'm just wondering if you meant you signed up to their newsletter? Or did you order Monster Clay, if it's monster clay than I just wanted to let you know that is almost entirely different than polymer clay, it requires heat when working it, it'll never become permanent as you can just melt it back down in a pan of liquid again and again. Let me know.
@TheBroodingTom

In lesser words, if you bake monster clay it will just turn into a liquid. As would any oil-based clay.
Wow! Super excited to see what you can do with this clay. I wonder how well the details, such as wrinkles or scales will come out. Your content is amazing as always!!

Glad you like the slug idea! As far as seeing what this will do "without" a armature it's pretty simple, the object will just spring by or it's original baked position, much like the test piece they sent me.

Yes! If there is no wire in it, it'll just spring back into it's natural baked position... I know this video is rather long, but I show it in action here, as well as how it can be destroyed if you decide to bend it THEN put it BACK into the oven... big no-no lol. Check it out if you get a free moment kzread.info/dash/bejne/io6ElZuMj6qtn9Y.html
Greetings from Vietnam, thanks for the information about the clay. --Questions: What paint or pastel can be used with this bendable clay. Acrylic? - Does the paint break when you bend the clay and if it does, what to do about it? --What I want to see you do with this clay: Anything that can show its features, but I'm thinking of a small human figure maybe. A short stop motion done with this clay would be nice, too. Again, thank you a lot for the video!

Hi! Paint shouldn't break, especially helps if you bake the paint onto the sculpture, it really adheres to it. :) -Alex
AAAAH! you should do a Q&A on what clay is best, age, married, I Lifestyle, art style, anything!
How about a poseable cartoon character?
I have used silkclay when I need stuff to be playable - it air-dry and feels like smooth foam

Polymer Clay Artist this clay is awesome. I’m always creating leaves and flowers and small sculptures that snap during transit. This clay would mean little to no breakage .
I make miniature (1:12th scale) polymer clay characters and fingers are always at risk from breakage so immediately I can see advantages for me. Then there is the whole new world of poseable miniature people. Can't wait until its on the market and hopefully available in the UK. From a purely personal point of view I would like to see you make a miniature character with poseable arms, legs, torso and head - selfish I know but you did ask.
I want some of that!!

I would love to see what it would be like as a flexible mask thats about 3-5mm thick. I make puppets normally from silicone and just wondered how flexible this cosclay is.

Hi there I have just one question about the flex polymer clay. Do you need to bake or air dry?🤔
You could make an octopus, or a jelly fish with tendrils, or a kitty.
This clay looks amazing!!? It would be perfect for stop motion puppets, cool jewelry, or interesting statues!! :D

I know its compatable with other polymer clays, other testers have already mixed them... but as far as how much fixability it retains I'm not sure. I would imagine the more "normal" clay mixed into it, the less flexibility it retains, if any at all. But durability would seem to be increaded nonetheless. Just my thoughts, until I can try. Thanks!
sculpey actually does have a product called "bake and bend" I would love to see how the two compare to each other.

@@TheBroodingTom Thank you for the info! Now I'm definitely interested. I'm new to polymer clay, and I've been doing posable figures. Ball jointing is too hard for my skill level so I've been leaving bare wire at the joints so I'm forced to dress my figures to hide that. This may make this whole process more interesting.

Right, without a wire it just springs back, but with a wire it can hold a pose (provided the stiffness of the wire matched or exceeds the "springing" effect of the clay) Thanks so much for asking btw! Question for you actually lol.. I never made a doll before, so is it normal to do only the head/neck, arms, and legs and leave the body out? Or does that only matter if it gets clothing?
