A virus with a 50-90% case fatality rate is a rational thing to fear. This isn’t like Covid, it’s like the bubonic plague in terms of mortality.

Our civilization and agriculture are petrie dishes. Networked by the global aviation industry. Another virus is inevitable, because transmission is so easy under the unnatural conditions which we maintain.

A. Every other year is an election year, so it's a coin flip on anything newsworthy happening an election year. B. This virus has been on everyone's radar for its pandemic potential at least since the first human infection in 1997 (not an election year btw). The current outbreak started affecting poultry hard last year (also not an election year btw). All that's changed this year is some more mammals than usual (not even humans) got it. C. Outbreaks like this pretty much always span *multiple* years, evolving as they do, so even when out outbreak happens on an off year it's statistically impossible not to have a development of some type follow into an election. It's not a conspiracy. It's basic math and science.
