    You look SO PRETTY!! I was immediately intrigued by that DE micellar water because I ADORE micellar water - well, the Bioderma Sensibio one at least. I use it to take off my sunscreen every day. I don't think any of them are good replacements for water; I always at least rinse it off but usually wash my face after. I guess you could say I double cleanse, with micellar water being my first cleanse...

    Thanks for the review 😊 The way I use micellar water it's to remove skincare products and very light makeup. I use it interchangeably with cleaning oils. Once I remove everything with the micellar water, I step into the shower, rinse it and proceed to second cleanser. So for this reason, I am not so demanding when it comes to this kind of product. But is nice to get information about new products with different ingredients though. Thanks again!

    Thanks for the review!!! Bought the DE E Rase Milki Micellar Water at early access on Sephora a bit back ... it’s ok ... love DE APassioni, BHydra, & Marula Oil ... ERase didn’t wow me in any way ... will use it, but definitely don’t plan to repurchase. I typically just use it to remove eye makeup & mascara (before going in with Farmacy Green Clean all over & then YTTP superfood cleanser). Prefer Too Cool For School & Caudalie Micellar Waters over DE one. I am combo very sensitive skin.

    Thank you for the review, Alice. Was thinking of purchasing the DE to mostly use in the morning instead of cleanser. I’ve been hearing that you can skip your morning cleanse and just use water. My skin is dry and I think this would help me a) not go thru cleanser as fast and b) not dry my skin out as much. I have dry skin and for so long I’ve always cleansed once in the morning and once at night. I don’t usually wear makeup and if I do, it’s very light. I think I would really enjoy the DE micellar water. I saw some people saying they used it like a milky toner? What do you think about that? Anyways, wow sorry for the story of a comment. Thanks again for the review. Love your vids, Alice. Also wanted to say I follow you on Instagram and my daughters loved looking at your pictures of your pet lizards. They are so pretty, interesting animals. Have a great day and stay safe out there!! Love from sunny (and HOT) Florida -Robyn

    Ooh I do think you might really enjoy this! Yes, it's very much like a milky toner - it doesn't feel irritating at all and there is no need to rinse afterwards. The only difference would be the micelles, which I feel helps prevent excess bacteria (very important for my acne-prone skin).

    Costco carries an industrial sized bottle of bioderma micellar water (pink one)for around $18. I go through a lot of it, as I use it to remove my unremovable sunscreen on my neck and chest, and sometimes my arms. I also use it to get the sunscreen off my fingers and palms after I apply said sunscreen. Cleansing balm also works, but it's sooooo expensive and I'd need to double cleanse. I also use MW on my face when I have easy to remove makeup. The tough stuff, I need a balm and then a water cleanser.

    Literally one minute in and I already need to comment! People boycotting Drunk Elephant cause of "Drama" are totally missing out on fantastic, effective, result driven products. I am doing a trial and a few months ago I switched from DE to IS Clinical which is a medical grade brand and I miss drunk elephant already! My skin just does not look as bright and clear. Drunk elephant is really hard to beat in their formulas plus I think the "drama" is all blown WAYYYY out of proportion. .

  • @AliceintheRabbitHole

    @AliceintheRabbitHole

    Oh absolutely. I am really not even sure I understand the drama - which when you compare that to something like the J*/Shane situation? It just seems silly. I forever owe them for creating TLC Framboos - that was the end of some stubborn scars I had, and the best part? It worked so well that it FINISHED the job. You know a product is good when you buy it twice and ...don't need to buy it again!?

    Yes! The hard water issue. My parents have a filter. And it really helps. Downside is, when i go to friends or something, my skin gets so dry after skincare, because the water is hard. I’d practically need a whole different skincare routine.. Super annoying :/

    Since there are oils in the DE milky micellar water then maybe the oils are actually helping to break down makeup a little like cleansing balms/oils would? I have not tried it yet but it is kind of an interesting idea of a product, especially if your target audience are those who dont like the super slippy feel of cleansing balms/oils in general, and/or cant be bothered to double cleanse. I personally would not like to skip a proper cleanser but it can be useful in certain situations. That little extra slip to the liquid may mean that a soaked cotton pad wont lead to harsh scrubbing on your face either. Was that your experience using this product by any chance, or am i just projecting this outcome? 😁

  • @AliceintheRabbitHole

    @AliceintheRabbitHole

    4 жыл бұрын

    No I definitely agree! I noticed the DE side removed my makeup better and slightly faster, and the oil/surfactant combo could certainly explain it! The only odd part of it was that the DE moved my makeup around before I was finished (I think this is explained by the product sitting on top of the cotton pad). I flipped the cotton pad over at the end and that worked to pick up the remaining makeup. Yeah I genuinely do think it's an innovative idea!

    I just can't spend $30 on a "Micellar water". And I really like Drunk Elephant although I wish I didn't (mostly bc overpriced). edit: ok so one of the FB groups I'm in is called "Drunk Elephant Addicts" (toldya- I really DO like their stuff. Most of it anyway)....and there are a few DE PR people in the group. Before the launch of e-race they started a thread teasing the new facial product they were about to release and asking people what they thought it would be or hoped it would be. "Some kind of toner or essence" was far and away the most popular answer. But the problem is....as the PR people delighted in reminding us...is that DE's creator, Tiffany, "doesn't believe in" toners and has said repeatedly "DE will never release a toner." So, they want to seem like they're sticking to their principles, but at the same time, the demand is absolutely there and at the end of the day DE is a business. So my personal conspiracy theory is that they created a cleansing and hydrating toner with a bit of micellar water in it and called it a "Micellar Water". And yk, I kinda feel like this theory is validated because in all the E-rase review threads in that group, a *clear* majority of people who say they love it also say that they use it as they would use a toner or even an essence. So....there's also that interesting little wrinkle, so to speak lol.

  • @AliceintheRabbitHole

    @AliceintheRabbitHole

    Ohhh interesting...and that makes so much sense! Yes, it's an essence texture with the benefits of a hydrating toner - yep. Yep I think you cracked the code here lol! But I have to admit that for as much as I've hated on 3-in-1 products as a concept - they actually did pull it off. I do feel i can jump from this product immediately to serum. (And completely agree, I like most of their stuff, even if I still absolutely think you can use DE + other brands lol!)

    I used to use micellar water as my morning cleanse, but heard recently that you’re not supposed to leave it on the skin, so I stopped using it. Reason being that it contains surfactants that can irritate the skin of left on. What do you think? Is it necessary to rinse off the micellar water or can it be left on? I really miss it as my easy and convenient morning cleanse. Thank you for a great video, I don’t think the DE one is something I need to run out and purchase. ☺️

    I think it's a YMMV situation! Since my water seems to be a direct CAUSE of problems, leaving the micellar water on my skin works great for me. I do go in with toner afterwards with certain micellar waters (..probably not DE's as I like the ingredients so much lol) but that certainly is an option if you're worried about leaving it on. Again though, that's no guarantee it will work for everyone - big part of what makes finding the right skincare for each of us individually so difficult!
