Note that mic2 can only be paired to pocket3 or action4, not both at same time. Word to the wise: Don't turn off the mic LED if you intend to re-pair the mic

Game changer is an understatement for me. I am glad I did not know about this a month ago as I probably would have bought the Pocket Camera I did not need to get the mic. I just ordered the transmitter for $99.

and the Mic2 can also controll the AC4 start recording!

Good news and I just did the firmware update on my new OA4. I did have settings saved in C1 that have disappeared. Is that something that happens with a firmware update? Now I have to remember what the settings were to re-install them. I have to say, in your video, the sound and picture quality are great.

Does it also works with DJI Action 3 after the firmware update? I have Action 3 and planning to buy Pocket 3 Creator Combo as well.

Hi thanks for your video. I have two Osmo action 3’s with the dual DJI mic setup and also the pocket 3 creator combo with the new mic. I will buy the action 4 just for this function alone but my question is this- Is there any way of checking the remaining battery level in the transmitter of the new mic 2? Obvs with the original mic we have the receiver which tells us the remaining levels of rx/tx on the screen. Many thanks. Dave.

That’s great and all. But for those who just bought an action 3 just before the release of the action 4, do you think they will update action 3 with the same update. No one on KZread is talking about this. The mic 2 now works with a number of other cameras from different companies for example insta 360 ace pro. iPhone with black magic app, etc. what are your thoughts and is it worth making a video about it. And happy holidays 🎉

Yes, the mic2 link button starts/stops recording on the action4 as well.

So tempted to sell my Hero 11 to get an Action 4 now.

Wow, well this is a tremendous piece of news. I am, however concerned that once connected to the Action 4 it becomes unpaired with the Pocket 3? I’ll have to check when I get back and can update everything together. Thanks for the video heads up. I would have NEVER known to update the DJI Mic 2.

Ya didn’t test it going back to pocket 3. But luckily pairing is super easy.

Correct: you'll need to re-pair, and it will be a lot let confusing if you don't turn off the mic LED (in settings)

Now I just wish they can release a firmware update for the action 3!!!!!!!!!!! I just purchased the action 3 on sale and for what I will use it for on my channel I won't need low light performance but if they want to sell a TONNE of new mic 2 then update the firmware on the action 3 pretty please 🙏.

This is a big add on. My question is does action 4 have the same mode that ace pro has called freeframe?Gopro has the same mode called full. When you can film in those modes and easily swap edit the footage after from vertical to wide

Now put this tech into next new gen Mirrorless camera like Lumix , because Lumix is part of DJI alliance .

I own the Pocket 3 w/ the Mic 2 and an Action 4. I run the Pocket 3 and the Action 4 at the same time on projects. I wonder if one gets priority over the other with the Mic 2? I guess I will have to do the update and mess around with this. How cool would it be if the Mic 2 connected to both at the same time ...

Mic2 can only be linked to one at a time. To switch between action4 and pocket3 requires re-pairing the mic.

This is DJI smart moves compare to all of those bracket + cold shoe + mic transmitter + cable etc etc... that makes the vlog camera setting looks ridiculous 😁😁

Thanks so much, as always, for the fantastic video. This is incredibly great news. That is a Christmas wish list thing for me. But it is also bad news because I just bought the Insta360 Ace pro that I cannot return. So I guess that will become D cam And we will buy an action for once they have a bundle with the DJI Mic 2. It will be a great b cam with our pocket 3 as A cam in our Beer 🍺 Vlogs. Insta360 has A LOT of CATCHING UP to do in 2024. They NEED a wireless mic (w 32bit float internal) to have any chance competing with DJI. I hope the OneX 4 has such a solution. Finally a helmet cam without wires to compromise the waterproofing of the action cam. Already done the update. The only downside right now is only one device can pair with it at a time. So if you switch cameras you have to repair it with the other camera.

anyone else getting a huge delay in the audio?

I don't think blue tooth can do 2 channels on one device.

With hollyland lark m1 we can use two transmitters to create stereo sound.

THEY WERE CONFUSED WHAT TO DO WHEN INSTA ACE PRO BECAME A BEST SELLING. THEY ARE FOLLOWING A BAD POLICY. FOR EXAMPLE, IT'S LIKE THE GAME THEY MADE TO ENSURE THAT ANY FILTER BOUGHT FOR MINI PRO 3 CANNOT BE USED IN MINI 4 PRO.

I've got the DJI Action 4, the GoPro 9 and the Insta360. The Insta360 Ace Pro. The Insta360 blows them away.
