Wht? Why was he flying under VFR and why flight following. Literally they all would have been fine if they flew IFR because visibility was like 5 1/2 miles that day and foggy

*FACT* Since the Monday after Kobe died, quite a few of my classmates have been saying “For Kobe” whenever they throw something in the trash. Eventually the math teacher was like, “You need to stop. It’s not going to make him any less dead.” That just made me sad. I mean she’s not wrong, but if they want to pay some respects to him, I say go for it. Actually, we have lots of pictures of him in a particular section of the hallway at school. My science teacher even had us do a few seconds of silence for Kobe & Gigi Bryant. I have to admit, I’ve never been that into sports. (I’ve always been more of an art/theater kinda gal.) But when I heard the news that Kobe died, I was absolutely heartbroken. Not only did he offer so much inspiration to the world, I can only imagine what his poor family is going through. And of course, learning that his daughter, who wasn’t much older than me, died as well just made the situation a lot worse. Not only did his wife lose both her husband AND a child, she still has 3-4 other children to raise all on her own. And don’t even get me started on what his children have to deal with. (As someone who’s also lost a father, I can relate. Also, he died a day before my own father died, but six years later.) R.I.P. all victims of the crash.
