Same, I was still asleep and remembered waking up to my mom saying "no way, that's not true" I asked what's not true obvious to what was being reported and then I went to the living room to see the TV to see that Kobe died. Then after seeing that my mom said hopefully none of his daughters were on board and when it was announced it was she was understandably shocked and heartbroken

Usually no reason to go back and re watch/remind myself about tragic events, but every now and then I come back to this video to remind myself of the good in people when most of what I see is ugly... It just sucks it takes a tragedy for us not be assholes to one another. You never know when someone will just be gone, so be kind to the ones you love.

Imagine Kobe looking down on all of this, all these tributes, emotional people, 99% of them never even met the guy, but he inspired them so much that his death felt like it was part of their family, even I teared up when I heard him and his daughter had passed. Never been a sports fan. That's untill I watched Kobe and fell in love with the NBA.

Someone who was truly to young to go. Including his daughter and their family. He was already doing great things but imagine what he could have done during the pandemic when he had time with his kids and to think about all his organizations. Dang dude. I'm a Mavs fan, and Kobe NEVER disrespected our hero (which is why to this day i dislike Wade&Lebron) and understood that we might not always win but Dirk was an incredible player.

Kobe is the GOAT imo. MJ and Kobe are the two best EVER.

His impact was beyond the game of basketball. He was a family man that cared for his daughters and wife more than any man could. Rest Easy Kobe and Gigi.

I’ll always remember where I was and what I was doing when it comes to Kobe’s and Michael Jackson’s death. Something about time just freezes and cements itself in to one’s brain when tragedy strikes
