I'm having such a hard time deciding whether I should buy this RS5 or a BMW I8 as my next daily. I'm not gonna lie the "look at me" design of the I8 and the doors that go up are two things that I really like about the BMW but for what is about the driving sensations and the sound the RS5 definitely wins... Any suggestions please ? 🤔

You are totally correct on the start/stop. Effects my A4 in the same way. It’s a system that just doesn’t work with an auto. Just as slow right down for a roundabout or junction but not intending to actually stop the bloody thing cuts out. Drives me mental. Obviously you can turn the system off but that generally happens once you are reminded about the button as it’s cut out the first time on a drive.

Racelinekarting my s4 does it too and what a frustrating thing. You’d think by now they would have had a fix offered. I see it often in forums. Maybe soon 😀

Jason de Courcy ljets hope so. Only yesterday I forgot to hit the deactivate button. It was lashing it down and the wipers struggled to clear the water. I arrive at a roundabout the engine cuts out and so does the wipers!! Couldn’t see a flipping thing for a second. So wouldn’t be able to pull away on that system without manually over riding. Another annoyance, why do the speakers buzz like a swarm of bees when streaming music through a phone yet clear as a bell through a cd or radio. Matt Watson has the same issue with his RS4.

I agree, I will not buy a vehicle with that crap on it especially a sports car. It hardly makes sense to put start/stop feature on a high performance sports car...

You have to remember that not only is the RS5 an everyday car, the feature also helps the cars with emission figures.

if you leave it in sports mode, it doesn't auto-shut off. only in comfort mode. this car has 2 personalities

LOL the start/stop criticism is on point...I have the 2023 version & it still does that. Even with a featherlight braking touch, you look like a clumsy learner pulling up at traffic lights etc 🤣

Good question. The Audi is a bit more expensive but I think it’s worth it. The Mercedes on the other hand is just more of a cruiser with a lot of power if needed to overtake. - Christian

Amen, straight into it, no bullshit. Good review, but not quite enough exhaust and or driving. After all, if you're buyying a car like this, it's for the speed, peformance and sound of that engine. Need to see more of that.

For once, a v6 sounds better than a v8. It sounds alot like the original quattro rally car. Sounds awesome!

I said we’d mention on the channel before that I don’t like it when you can’t do it on the wheel, but on the RS5 there are two ways of controlling the volume, on the wheel and on the centre console. 👍🏻

The line between coupe and hatch back has kind of been blurred over the years slightly I feel! Hatchbacks usually have slightly shorter body styles than the Coupe.

The mesh grill is “flimsy” by design.

One of the first audis I actually think looks good and I'd like to buy. Just not sure about the engine, as a lot of Audis seem to have lots of engine problems and often you need to fully change the engine after 30-50k miles for some reason. smh

It's the same as the RS5 2017, what's brand new here? You mean new model?

Decent review, but please don’t call those things “vents”, if it’s not passing air through it it’s not a vent... just a piece of plastic styling. (Yes I hate fake vents, yes you’re entitled to your opinion on the styling of fake vents... yes I have issues!) 👍🏻
