NEW Crocodile Skink Bin Setup

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Good Morning, Reptilians! Last week (I think😬), I mentioned that I was going to be upgrading my crocodile skink's bin enclosure. Then I realized I should record that and make it into a video. So I hope you enjoy!
Just to mention again here, crocodile skinks generally need at least a 20g long tank. She has been in several different size tanks (including a 20g long), and she didn't do good in any of them. Then we temporarily put her in a small bin one day when her modified tank (24''x18''x18'') started leaking, and she instantly starting doing better. She was coming out in the daytime and climbing and eating, so we realized that she liked the foggy/smaller bin better. We're now hoping to slowly size up her bins, just making sure that she's staying active in each step up. :)

    Id love to get a Crocodile Skink one day, they look like baby wingless dragons. You've definitely helped in showing me how to house one in the best environment when using a plastic tub rather than a glass tank. I can't thank you enough for being such an informative & engaging KZreadr! I always look forward to your content. Keep up the awesomeness that you are!!!

    They're so awesome looking! And aww thank you so much! Sometimes I feel like the videos drag a bit when I'm editing (probably because I'm staring at the same video clips for hours haha) so it's nice to hear that that's not the case. 😊

    Hello Elle. I was wondering if you can use isopods in tanks that are non bioactive? My apartment has humidity issues, which causes problems with my crested geckos tank. I have a mix of coco fiber and cypress mulch for his bedding. Thank you and great job as always with the videos

    I have a question. Which has easier lighting and heating for a beginner to reptiles? Bearded dragons, ball pythons, or leopard geckos? I've done research on all three but keep getting different facts. It's funny because its literally the only thing that stops me with reptiles. It's like math to me, I just go blank

  • @ellesreptiles

    @ellesreptiles

    3 жыл бұрын

    Probably ball pythons. They're nocturnal so they don't require any special lights, just a heat pad with a thermostat. So you set up the heating and that's it. 😊 Bearded dragons are definitely the most difficult for lighting, requiring linear UVB that needs to be changed everything 6 months (and is a bit pricier) and a heat bulb.

    Not at all! They're very shy, and they "bark" when they get scared, kind of like leopard geckos.
