I agree with some here that they deserve credit for thinking out of the box. Another point--this card earns reward points that can be transferred, including 1:2 to Choice Hotels, which isn't just the low end--they have Radisson and Cambria, as well as Ascend. Couple this with one of their Autographs, particularly the no annual fee "legacy" Autograph, and you have some serious point earning on typical everyday stuff and these "lifestyle" categories. Couple with both Autographs and you'd probably challenge the Chase or Citi Trifectas. That may be what they have in mind.

I think you are underselling this card's potential. That sports, recreation and entertainment category could be insane. I know folks that spend thousands per year on hobbies not to mention pets. Sports card collectors, Magic the Gathering players, diy crafters, hipster vinyl record collectors, comic book collectors, pet owners, horse owners, book enthusiasts, hunters, anglers, skiers, campers, gardeners, antique collectors and on and on. All on one card at 4x and no AF. People spend tons on escapism and hobbies and this card seems to be targeting them directly. I hope they can get the message out.

Between our Peloton, the YMCA gym, my wife’s yoga classes and other fitness things, her nail salon visits, my haircuts, all of our sporting equipment with us loving outdoor sports and our daughter playing softball and volleyball yearly, gardening stuff for our yard, going to games and live concerts, our dog’s supplies, our thrift runs, and sporadic Supercharging for our Tesla…this might be a super card for non-category spend that isn’t currently covered! Additionally, we’re planning to downgrade our Amex BCP to the BCE to save on the AF, and we’ll be losing 6% groceries and streaming, and 3% parking and tolls. This would at least give us more on our small streaming spend than our SavorOne. This is a compelling card for our young, active family!

The card is great for high spenders in the 4% categories. Golf memberships can cost a ton for instance in upwards of 50,000 or more. The question for people who spend in these categories is how much spending limit they will get approved for and if they block those transactions or intentionally try to say it was not coded properly when it was. Marinas is also another high expense category for big yachts and those fees add up fast. Card seems like it is good for people who fit these categories with big spend.

Oops didn’t see it was just public golf courses which are like 50 give or take for the green fee. But it adds up if you play a lot or bring a lot of people with you. The marina category seems to be more inclusive.

The only cards that are worth it for me are points on gas and groceries. 0/0 percent purchases and balance transfer. Typically 0 percent for 15 to 18 months with no fees. And yes I get it. There is a small charge for a balance transfer fee. But that's what I'm into. As far as I'm concerned somebody that has a shit credit score those are the cards for me. And I think a good credit score is probably in the 790 to 800 range. Yeah I know they say that is in excellent range but it varies between homes cars and credit cards.

Adam, I think the card is self-explanatory and is NOT odd or strange at all. I think you have a bias because it doesn't "FIT" within your spending patterns per se. This card would appeal to me because I care about my own self-care, health & wellness and the planet. Therefore, I can potentially see myself getting this card. Like other cards (and as you mentioned), I also see this card being used in conjunction with other cards to maximize rewards based on one's spending habits. After watching your channel for a number of years now (and dipping in on a couple of others here and there), I realize there is no single card (in my case) that will ever be the go-to card for everything. I use a trifecta of the PayPal MC, Amazon Prime VISA (Chase) and SavorOne cards to cover all the purchases that I make. This Wells Fargo Attune is no different for those who see the card as being "attuned" to their lifestyle.

I don’t like the card.👎It’s super niche. I don’t want MORE cards. I want fewer. just make a 3-4% back on essentially EVERYTHING card (except travel, gas, groceries). Much better.

3% or 4% on everything, or on all primary spend categories, will not happen until the credit card processors raise their fees. And they are pretty hesitant to raise fees much right now because of regulatory pressure. Depending on the exact card and merchant, the bank or the card processor or both are *maybe* breaking even at 3% and definitely losing money at 4%. They are willing to do that on certain cards for certain categories, because they know that most consumers will mostly spend outside of those categories on the card and/or many transactions will code differently than the consumer was expecting so it will fall into the 1% category. The other potential possibility is 3% everywhere with an annual fee like the Robinhood Gold Card, but that won’t make sense for most people, and it has yet to be seen whether that even makes business sense for most banks.

Definitely sounds like they are trying to attract a certain fluffy/Neo hippie demographic even with the card name. It is a very niche market that is for sure. If it doesn't get phased out after 3 years because of very low applications for it; I'll be shocked.

Everytime I see someone use “woke” in that context I automatically think of Coors light, assault rifles, and dating cousins.

This ‘Attune’ credit card is for sensitive people who aren’t into travel or high end retail and dining out.😌

I think the card is pretty silly but if you had this and one for dining out etc it could be powerful.
