New to my list of Things I Didn’t Know I Needed: a Cold Steel whip cane. CD canes are fantastic in my experience. I have several and they are all great. I used the axe-head cane for a few months when I was recovering from a broken ankle and was very happy with it.

Love that new "Republic" fixed blade, especially with it being a White River (the micarta handles look great too), but I just really wish it was a flat grind instead of a hollow.

Stick man is a great rep for cold steel! I own many high end knives and own and have owned many cold steels and still always grab a CS folder when I know I need strong reliable tool in pocket

None of their new models spark anything from me. That said, I really love the newer CPM-S35VN Recon1, it's perfection IMO, a great upgrade with excellent heat treatment. Their Taiwanese plant is doing a great job with this particular model. It's much better than the AUS-8A version, and even the CTS-XHP (which was nice and hard but it's edge tended to micro-chip). It's the best large folder I've ever found, and I've stocked extras so I'll never be without one. Unfortunately QC has gone way downhill the last few years, especially on budget models. The AUS-10a steel they're using on folders now is great(when done right). My newer XL voyager edge retention is impressive compared to an older one. BUT, I've received a few new blades that have a horrible heat treatment. Unfortunately, you really can't trust that they've been produced correctly anymore, until you actually use it for a while. It's a shame... RIP Cold Steel.

Yeah dude we're nearly the same age and i knew it when you went to talking about whipping somebody with a piece of the hot wheels track. That's all they were good for by the time half of it was lost or broke

Actually I'd be happy with any half decent steel. SK5 is OK providing you don't pay too much but it's essentially just 1084 carbon steel. The SRK compact is screaming for some performance steel. It's design intent is hard outdoor use - right in CPM3V's wheelhouse. Have a great day.

Love the cane. I've been hit by a cable like that. It caused what doctors call "Moderate Discomfort." I called it other things... While the cane is cool, for those of us who use a cane, it has issues. The lack of legnth adjustment is a deal-breaker. For those of us with short legs (28" inseam here), "standard" canes get introduced to Mr. Miter-Saw before use. Make the bottom 6" (at least) out of something I can cut nicely without a machine shop. Better yet make the entire body out of poly with steel inserts and the bottom section sawable for legnth. Not exactly hard to make, possibly lighter, and quite possibly cheaper. Cold Steel, you can have the idea if you send me the cane!

Cold Steel NEEDS to revamp their old folder knife classics like The Recon 1,Talwar,Voyager etc with better,deep carry and low profile pocket clips.PLEASE make this happen Cold Steel.

At least they're sturdy lol. There's plenty of aftermarket deep carry clips if you want that. I personally want to be able to get to my blade fast and don't mind a little showing to grab hold of

Really happy to see companies domesticating products. I believe the eastern sourced stuff will become difficult, if not almost impossible, to come by in the near future.

No new throwers?? Man, and not those cheesy ultra light exploding spear point cut outs or rebranded and overpriced SOG fasthawks. Cold Steel has produced some of my favorite THROWERS EVER: torpedo, LaFontaine, Jack Dagger, Battlestar, Templar, Warhammer, Weeping Heart hawk, Diamond Spontoon, True Flight, Gladius, Special Forces Shovel, and so many others in my arsenal. It seems like maybe they're done with the serious throwers and true innovation as far as throwers are concerned. The "backyard quality" stuff is stamped and disposable, meant for casual beer/bbq tosses at 3m or less, and the MSRP is just insulting.

I’m sure the Republic will be a little pricey but I am interested in it sooo………

@@yamainmanzhan2126 I think they are made fine iv seen 6 or 7 of them none have had a warped blade or a Crack in the poly its just the blade steel needs to be better send some 1085 to the same factory and let them have at it do what they do condor I think is way over priced for what you get when you can get an ontario for 35 bucks if they upgraded the steel and kept the price around 50 60 bucks condor would be out of business cold steel lord I hope you make my beloved barong nock my ontario of its thrown thank you thank you for having my back on this man I know we can't be the only ones who feel this way

I just hate that they look so cheap (i plan on cutting the handle off one and making my own but i have no idea what the tang under those looks like.)

@@yamainmanzhan2126 they are full tang with the poly being over molded don't quote me but I think they have two or tree holes in the tang for the poly to go threw to fix the grip and size problem I have larg hands so I took some cotton twine and raped the handle simple easy fix

More like a schrade sch51 with micarta . Ontario rat 6 much much more pointy blade. But none of that matters if they want 350.00 for the knife. Guess we have to wait for the price . Rat 6 can be bought for 125 to 150 bucks. Thats a bargin even if its from ontario. My rat 6 is very nice

im still very skeptical with a s35vn fixed blade, remember esse did this in their line of survival knives with the 3d g10 handles, and in their testing the blades broke when trying to baton with them. now that last one with 3v steel chopper looks extremely promising.

Went from being a great value to to getting sold alongside great value. Never in my life did i think i would hear them bragging about 1 knife being made in the usa. I have been buying cold steel since the early 90s when they said ventura, ca on the blades. Last one i bought i had to sharpen to get it to cut notebook paper.

that first knife is way way off-brand, sorry. that's a corny fixed blade everyone already makes. it better be cheap as hell to compete. the world doesn't really need any more bradford/esee/ontario fixed blades, tbh. being made in america is wonderful, and i am willing to pay for that, so let's see. however the other two are *intensely" on-brand, in the most highly epic fashion.
