I agree! The new coke zero sugar is about as close to regular coke as you are going to get. The aftertaste is minimal compared to old coke zero sugar.

I love the new Coka Zero. I'm not even much of a soda drinker but I love how close it gets to the flavor of original full sugar coke. It doesn't have that gross artificial flavor that diet coke and old coke zero have. I don't understand all the people that are mad and want a return to the old coke zero, that soda always had a weird metallic taste to me

Yeah last time I had the old zeros they were way more bland but the new ones have a very coke like flavor.

I can hardly tell any difference from the new Coke Zero and the original. Hopefully they keep it.

As much as the sugar versions may taste the way we remember a soda to taste the sheer fact there's 50 grams of sugar in a 330ml package is pretty shocking.

the new Coke Zero is delicious! I’m drinking one right now in a cup with some crushed ice! Gives it more freshness and crispness :) I can’t have regular Coke cuz of the sugar, so I’m glad that the diet versions are getting closer to the original as time goes on

Fun fact. Zero sugar coke tastes way better when it's really cold. I tried drinking it when it wasn't cold enough and UM NOPE, I didn't like it lol. I don't drink regular coke anymore but I remember drinking it when it wasn't as cold and it still tasted good.

The bite/spiciness you refer to is astringency. It's what I love about Coke Zero and also what I love about gin, although not together.

I hope and pray they never go back to the old Coke Zero. It’s so much better that Diet Coke

I'm a die hard Coke Zero black label guy! The new Coke Zero Sugar tastes like a step up from diet coke? Gross! Who are the MUPPETS that decided to fix a good thing that wasn't broken?? HEADS NEED TO ROLL!

You can't beat the original, but it has calories and isn't great for you. I actually like the old Coke Zero more, but to me you either like it or you don't. I think I am in the minority, as most people I know never loved old Coke Zero. The newer one has more of a universal appeal and will do well for the company. Be totally honest, I like Diet Pepsi more than all Coke products.

I never liked the old Coke Zero and when i tried the new one it became my main coke because diet coke is discontinued in poland

They are only just switching over here to zero sugar here in NZ. I was skeptical at first, but your review has made me excited to try it

I also suggest that if you buy the new one get a single can and try it. I got 12 cans which is okay as I think it is perfectly fine, but after I finsh them I will probably not get it again. Why can't Coke just have both out? Why with this company is it an either/or like when Coke was discontinued for New Coke years ago.

I used to be a devout OG coke drinker, until my Doctor said I gotta stop. So as a compromise I started to drink the "more delicious" Zero Sugar Coke and was pleasantly surprised. At first I could still tell it was "zero sugar" as i guess it's the aftertaste caused by Asperthame. But after a year of drinking it, I don't mind it anymore. Funny thing...if I try the OG Coke now, I find it way too sweet and prefer the overall flavor and sweetness profile of the current Zero Sugar Coke.

They added more aspartame to the new formula , to make it sweeter. Aspartame , is not available outside of the u.s. International diet sodas and zero products are made with sucralose ( safer ) an artificial sweetener. Aspartame ( harmful) studies , are known to cause weight gain, brain tumors, and Alzheimer's. In the us , FDA approved aspartame.

@@vicm.8121 all of this is wrong. you can get aspartame outside of the USA, and it's been deemed safe for consumption by over 100 regulatory agencies in numerous countries including the UK Food Standards Agency, European Food Safety Authority and Health Canada. you are however right that they added more aspartame to the new recipe. they just cut back on the amount of actual flavoring and compensated by adding more sweetener... pretty blatant cost cutting measure that they are trying to pass off as a "new recipe"

The problem is the reviews are coming from people who don’t drink Diet drinks on the regular. I’ve been drinking Coke Zero for ever this new one is horrible

OK alright drank the regular between Pepsi that has ginseng in it, but THE NEW RED LABEL IS CALLING OUT TOOO ME! BUY THIS! ya know.

I hate all artificial sweeteners. I was just curious to know what the coke zero sugar was all about. I dont drink any soda. If I were to drink a cola, It would probably be a coke or pepsi. NEVER a diet soda. I'd sooner drink just water.

real sugar leaves an sour taste on the tongue as a finish to the taste of soda. Artificial sweeteners leave a bitter taste

New one is way better. Old Coke Zero had me switching to Diet Pepsi because I couldn’t stand the strong flavor, specially the aftertaste. This new one tastes like a cleaner, less sweet version of regular. And you don’t get that horrible aftertaste the old one gives you.

I guess I am in the minority. too bad for me. i hate the new Coke Zero. Tastes like Tab to me. Yes, I'm old.

I agree John !! Tastes just like Tab. Feels like we have gone backwards. Maybe if they used Splenda it would be good.

the problem I have is that I was "burnt" by coke when they deleted Coke Zero and replaced it with the inferior NO SUGAR .that aftertaste was dismal. So I switched to Pepsi Max. Now I am so settle with Pepsi Max . I do not want to change anymore. anyone else in the same boat.

I mean Diet Coke is my fave but it has sugar replacements. I find Coke Zero fairly bland, so I am hoping this is an upgrade. If it is an upgrade, I'm in like Flynn.

I have to say, as a lifetime Coca Cola Classic drinker, I was surprised after trying the new Coke Zero. As far as the initial taste, it's nearly indistinguishable from regular Coke. They got very, very close. Unfortunately it does still have a bit of an artificial sugar aftertaste, which itself kind of kills it for me, but I will admit that aftertaste is much less pronounced than other diet soft drinks I've tried.

I really liked the previous version in the black bottle. The new product is flat & tastes really different. I've had to switch to Pepsi Zero, but it's not as good as the one in the black label.!

Personally I think the old one was way better… So much so that they helped me kick my coke habit. I won’t be purchasing this again. Time to find some other unhealthy drink to get addicted to. 😂

Yep. I am hoping to have weight loss surgery in 3 months and I have to give up soda so this change in Coke Zero (which was my fav except for maybe Barqs Diet Rootbeer which my Safeway just stopped carrying) will help me kick the habit.

I find no difference, It is still using ASPARTAME that is a BIG NO THANKS for me I had hoped they would go all natural SWEETENERS but nop NOP. Plus they need to get rid of the PLASTIC and go back to GLASS in my opinion THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR OPINION.
