I would regularly have battles with my stuffed animals between the dog and cat kingdoms. The teddy bear kingdom had a civil war over who they should support, and ended up becoming two nations, the cat bears and the dog bears (lore was deep, naming conventions were not so). Much stuffing was shed, many lives were lost.

Most of this was Operation: Sunburst or The Battle of Helios One, where the NCR made a decisive victory over The Brotherhood of Steel. The power plant was a sensitive target that would require infantry advance rather than artillery bombardment. The NCR outnumbered the Brotherhood with a factor of 15 to 1. Their seemingly foolish charge into the Brotherhood’s fortified position was one of many, draining the Brotherhood's resources. This was a tactical maneuver that allowed the NCR sniper regiment to advance on the enemy's flanks forcing the knights to break defensive formation.

You know, the west most chapter of Brotherhood was supposed to be at war with the NCR. There's a line about it in New Vegas. When I watched the show, I was actually confused that Shady Sands was destroyed by just some random guy. I immediately assumed the Brotherhood did it, which would have been a stronger plot point in my opinion.

The NCR is literally a nation of hundreds of thousands with working infrastructure and everything else a burgeoning nation is supposed to have, not to mention one of the largest militaries in the Wasteland. The Minutemen literally had 6 people by the time you find them and only ONE of which is a soldier. Sure you recruit settlements along the way, but it is still a far, far cry away from the levels of the NCR. But I suppose if you base it on what grounds? The ideals they establish? Then yes the Minutemen and NCR are very comparable when it comes to their ideals for post-war America

At this point, California Dreamin' is the anthem of the NCR.

The detail put into this is IMMACULATE. The infantry charge at 0:34 is amazing - I love how the soldiers acctually duck, crouch, and do everything else to try and avoid the hell of bullets approaching them. It gives the fictional troopers an ounce of humanity. I love how hopeless it feels with the Power-Armoured Brotherhood equipped with all kinds of strong weapons while the NCR have 20th century firearms. It feels truely desperate. Glory to the NCR!

against the brotherhood and their tech it's basically the only option, what the NCR has is the option to recruit more, the brotherhood on the other hand relies on close knit families that they can't afford to lose. If I remember correctly that the only reason they started letting outsiders in in the form of squires, they just kept getting swamped by the NCR. The NCR can afford the losses, their ideals appeal to all wastelanders, the brotherhood are greedy hording thieves that most wastelanders rather avoid, especially if they have anything valuable.

SPOILERS! Honestly, though, most likely, the Brotherhood (who completely wiped out the settlement Filly in show) will follow the protagonist into New Vegas. The Fallout show could have been a six-season chronology detailing the factions, communities and conflicts of the American post-post-nuclear wasteland, interpreting events from the games while also expanding on the continuity in untouched regions. It would have had a story and characters to rival HBO's Rome and Game of Thrones at its peak. Instead, we got another Vault Dweller story.

A gritty show following a traumatic service record of an ncr trooper done in a boderlands esque comic book style animation would go so damn hard.

Everything about the NCR trooper's experience is captured here with a certain haunting beauty -- being moved around like pawns by leaders who don't give a shit about them, going up against heavily armed and seemingly invincible enemy knights, holding back the tide of the Legion This video has a spot on my all-time classics list, right up there with "Obi-Wan Has PTSD"

im just going to paste what I said to another commenter: SODAZ, the creator of the animation has to condense an assumedly, months long siege into a 10-15 minute animation that won't bore the viewer. An animation of the NCR just shelling Helios, wouldn't be as engaging as the NCR assaulting it. Besides, artillery will decimate Helios', potentially making the buildings facilities inoperable beyond repair. There is specifically a line in the original animation where NCR Rocketeers say "don't hit the building." Additionally, the full animation still isn't out. The bayonet charge was a distraction to allow NCR snipers to flank the BOS and get their heavy ordinance closer. We don't know if SODAZ would bring out any more NCR reinforcements in future previews of his animations.

Could you imagine being at Helios 1 and being told by your CO to charge a full Brotherhood battle line like that? Just a wall of metal so thick even large caliber armor pierces just bounce off armed with weapons that turn people to ash and glowing puddles.

I am a Minuteman but I have to say for NCR fan this quote should work "WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER!!!".

That one Brotherhood "Assault Marine" with the flamethrower and goggles does have a real orkish energy about him

I find it kinda sad how this video has more views than some of the original content it uses, both Sodaz and Couch must have put countless hours into their videos and now somehow this gets just as if not even more popular? And on top of that the people in the comments for the most part seem to think this is the original source. Nothing against the video or you, but we have to be honest you put a fraction of the work in, compared to them.

This is painful. We have so many great content creators that LOVE OG Fallout and New Vegas, and yet, we have to sit here and watch our beloved series beind disrespected by Bethesda and Amazon's untalented writers. Can you imagine all of the NCR being wiped out by a single nuke? That's the new canon according to Bethesda.

First of all, I haven't seen anything official that claims the NCR got completely wiped out, but honestly, yeah, I can imagine it, have you actually considered the position of the NCR? They were in a two front war with both the Brotherhood and the Legion, the former of which destroyed their economy, then they lost the Dam, and then their capital got deleted. This is as weak as they will ever get, so anyone that doesn't like them, both on the inside and outside, would strike now while they're down, that's not something you just shrug off.

I always see people saying that : if the courier didn't interfere NCR would have lost Hoover Dam. NCR is the true winner against the Legion, in lore NCR operates Main Battle Tanks, aircraft, they have the veteran rangers which are compared to a tatical nuke, power armors an well organized army. Legion don't have any power armors, they don't have motorized units, not even industrialized they are, most weapons they use are scavenged

Blame consoles that won't be able to handle all those cool stuff at that time. But yeah, NCR were also stretched thin due to Kimball's expansionist policies, so that could explain they weren't able to muster enough force for the battle.

@@enclave7125 The NCR's weak position in the Mojave has very little to do with Kimball, they were at war with the Brotherhood during New Vegas, they were literally fighting a two front war. And while one of their enemies has a modern military sitting on their doorstep with a bunch of powerarmour, the other is just a big ass tribe that's smashing its head against a fortified position, which threat do you think they took more seriously?

@@johnkonig865 The thing is that BoS can produce complicated equipment (veterbirds, power armors) while NCR is only capable of simple equipment. So its an race between who will crack first: NCR because of the logistical nightmare that is the mojave desert or the BoS because of big firepower but not enough to manpower to compare against the gargantuan size of the NCR

Well, if it makes you feel any better, it didn't work out.

The video was great, the NCR's battle strategy however was pretty stupid. Where's their artillery or air support? Nope just gonna blindly charge a fixed defensive position. More than a little dumb.

It's lore friendly. They don't know artillery or aviation, in the lore NCR only won battle for Hellios One because they outnumbered the brotherhood 15 to 1.

People think that the NCR has a WW2 army, that's incorrect. The NCR doesn't even have a WW1 army. This is fine as it fits the lore and setting.

In their defence, the only "major" faction which has air support and artillery are the Boomers, and in the lore they only won because of the numbers advantage.

Why would they shell a position which they are trying to capture?? The only point of taking Helios One is so they can remove the BoS and take the power plant for themselves, the power plant is useless if it’s just a pile of rubble.
