When it comes to their helmets (or mask maybe) its obvious inspiration is the nazi germany helmets

I love how the armoured ppl often get the drop on their enemies with the use of tactics, but often choose not to take advantage and fire first. Its like "Oh hey rebels are aiming at us, the invincible dudes with machineguns. I wonder if they will scratch my armour's paint this time."

God this movie is a masterpiece, even the blast of the mg-42’s firing is utter perfection. It’s not some generic underwhelming machine gun sound heard in all Hollywood movies nor is it some sci-fi esc sound that’s trying to hard to be cool, it’s a deafening roar that overpowers and dominates every other sound in the area, absolutely beautiful sound design

The song fits perfectly with the movie especially with the line "Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts. It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black." This line represents the main character so incredibly with him eventually choosing to become a mindless cog in the machine that does not question orders and acts blind to his actions. A beast not thinking of his prey.

The way "setting sun" almost sounds like "second sun" is super ominous in the context of this video

The "wolf" walking while beign shot is an obscene demostration of strength

although the song is not about war, but about mourning, loneliness and depression, the theme of the anime fit well, the animation is really good

They look more like a wolfenstein boss with physic attacks, the Jin-Roh armor makes them look like soulless living tanks. Also MG42's are just way more intimidating than a katana, I mean come on that's a gimme.

Oh man. I remember watching Jin Roh cuts on youtube before I joined the army all those years ago. It still holds up. There's an aspect to it where people want Jin Roh to be a real thing. They want the wolf brigade to actually exist to fight against what seems like people that want to destroy orderly society.

The movie kinda just drops ya into a situation with no idea who's the "good guys", who's the "bad guys", etc. Sure you *might* be familiar with the alternate history that it takes place in, but Jin Roh is in a different medium than the rest of it's universe is in, you're likely to go in blind. And eventually you learn that there are no "good guys".

They're Japanese in the movie. They just have German gear, because Weimar Germany occupied Japan in the Kerberos Panzer Cops timeline. Edit, correction: While they are referred to as "The Weimar Establishment," they are not the same Weimar government that controlled Germany during the interwar period; rather, they are the result of a successful coup and assassination of Hitler by Claus von Stauffenberg, which would go on to develop nuclear weapons (America is neutral due to Japan, an allied power, never attacking Pearl Harbor) and defeat the allies. The Protect Gear (body armor) seen in this video was used to great effect at the Battle of Stalingrad, leading to its adoption by police units such as the Special Armed Garrison ("Kerberos Unit") of post-war Japan.

Doomguy is the embodiment of a heroic figure. He refused orders to fire on civilians which got him sent to Mars. He then sacrificed any chance of returning to a normal life to fight the demons forever. He is the Doom for demons, not for humanity.

This a 1960s alt history. Post German occupation of Japan. These guys are basically using leftover German army equipment.

I was really looking forward for it to be a series. Guess you can't always get what you want.

The ending of this movie gave me shivers

I LOVE this movie! I remember watching it the first time in my teens and it blew me away. It was part of my discovery of "darker" anime movies. This, Akira and Ghost in the Shell. It's gone under the radar for many people, apparently which is a shame. It's so good.

You should see the japanese. Not only they got a big airsoft community but i have seen make fantastic replica of the suit and even glowing eye effect
