That is a Good Daughter!! Very impressive!!!
We had one in the shop a few weeks back, impact on the RR tire, didn't even damage the rim. Bent the rear axle housing and the Panhard bar. You could SEE the camber on the RR wheel due to the bent axle housing, and the whole axle assembly was displaced an inch and a half to the left due to the pretzeled Panhard bar. Plus, the immense inertia of the huge beadlock wheel/tire combo hanging on the rear gate bent the body shell where the gate hinges attach. Offroad vehicle, eh? Nah, just a lookit-me!!! mall-crawler.

all offroad vehicles will have parts break, when used in extreme conditions like an offroad park. that's why people beef up their vehicles to handle those situations, plus to replace the weak parts that the federal government forces auto makers to use to meet the MPG requirements. but a stock IFS vehicle should know their limitations. they are not a Jeep.

They're still a light duty SUV under the cool looking body. Really only made for very mild offroading from the factory. Even with the special packages that come with the bigger tires and such. I don't get the number of people that spend $50k on an SUV to turn around and spend another $20K modifying it to almost be good offroad. It's like the side by sides people dump crazy money into for them to still break all the time. For the money spent could just end up with an offroad buggy or a much more purpose built rig.

Nice work getting that heavy beast out of there. The new Broncos' front end issues are well known to everyone but new buyers and some current owners it appears. Upgrade them or keep spares and tools to avoid the drag of shame. Nice to see Abbey working with you.

theres a better off road bronco version/package. this one is the unibody more suited for trails
They need to get a set of the bronc buster tie rod stiffeners ,from what I've seen they work well.
Tie rods are the achilles heel of the IFS vehicles
Good for her for being mellow. Can’t help but think they’re a bit of passive aggressive chauvinism rearing its head here. Nothing wrong with the vehicle. 4x4 drive is all the same. You can break stuff on a highboy too. Skill goes a long way. But these trails are riddled with idiots on both sides. Folks who don’t know what they’re doing. And those who think they do and judge everyone else.
It's the driver, not the rig. But I want that dually tow truck, it's beautiful. Clinking and clanking like a good off roader should.
An old ire between the chains and the front bumper might have been a good idea
I was worried about that young lady getting hurt. It’s cute how she helps with her daddy.
the new bronco's are just good for snow on the streets. I got a 2005 rubicon 3 in lift and 33's and will go just about anywhere.
I used to drive an old ‘78 Chev tow truck with a Holmes 440 tow body on it. It had wide reinforced rubber pads to cushion where the chains are coming into contact with the bumper in their case. That setup worked quite well,
IFS is good for the better ride and most of the time it is fine. Solid front axles are stronger, but they break sometimes too...Nice, your daughter knows what she is doing and helps out.
That's one where the rubber straps would be nice to have on the sling!, Crap I even have a sling I carry on the old L-800, Holmes are my favorite tools!!

You have to remember that Eric volunteers his wrecker and his time . If you’re going off roading with plastic bumpers you won’t get the lot bandits coming to rescue you.
New bronco digs nice deep holes😂
it's got the new Ford variable steering where the front wheels can point in 2 different directions
I don’t think it’s going to drive strait 😂

Love GSP and that square body Tow Mater. 46 years tinkering and my fondest memories are of corporates and twin sticks. Lox-life
Need to get a few sets of broncobusters tie links reinforcements for broncos and other ifs trucks
If you go off roading on rough trails bring 1 or 2 high lift Jack, a shovel, and a come along. Along with a few 20 foot strong straps and a 100 foot rope. Self recovery takes longer when you really dig yourself deep stuck. It’s easy and quicker when you don’t dig your tires so deep… Bring those items and you won’t need to call a recovery truck.
@michaeldose2041
5 күн бұрын
All well and good, as I consider those self extraction tools essential and basic. In this case though, we are dealing with broken steering parts rendering those basic items more or less useless. You might be able to get it off it's high center but without steering you are going nowhere.
Tell me you don't belong on the trail without telling me.... I've demolished the front of my rig but when the tow truck shows up I'm gonna be worried about putting a t-shirt under the chain. 😂😂😂
Bronco…only thing a modern one is designed to climb over are the speed bumps at the local mall….as long as they are little ones. 🤣
Nobody rocks the glasses like this dude!😂
Turn that wheel while it's on the wrecker like you're gonna steer it where you want to go. 🤣
I totaled it on the trails. But I think the recovery guy messed it up getting it to the road for me. lol
If you can't do it with out damaging it leave it alone, it will coast you more than you will make on the recovery and tow, you need a wheel lift or a rollback for these vehicles today,, in this situation a wheel lift integrated with the boom would help a lot,
The jeep was below the bronco pulling down on it and they can't figure out why they couldn't pull it out! Really!
I had a 72, that was a great bronco. it had no AC, when it rained you got wet. I loved that thing. I dont think the new stock model is ready for serious jeep trails. Id go with a wrangler for off roading.
I understand that there's an aftermarket kit to beef up the Bronco tie rods.

another recovery well done...i do have to say this though..there are off road buggies and trucks then there is this plastic thing that they call a off road machine..if you're gonna off road a vehicle make dang sure it's built for that environment..we have built a few jeeps for off roading and trails and then we also have our nice daily drivers..gotta build for what you're gonna do with the machine
That recovery went fairly smooth. Too bad that the bronco got stuck because of weak parts for an off road rig.
Ford needs to beef up that front end
"Forgot how heavy these Broncos are"? So much for accusing them of having to much plastic. 😂
keep the clips coming
These new Broncos are just restyled old Ford Rangers.
should have filled the dirt holes the front tires made with dirt before pulling the Bronco forward instead of the Bronco slamming down on its own tailpipe. Don't really need a tow truck in this situation, when high centered put a floor jack under front side of car, Use some compact dirt or sturdy ply wood/wood block under the floor jack and the jack up the front side of car. Shovel some dirt under each front tire and pack it down. Lower down car with floor jack and repeat process until most the weight is shifted to rear tires and enough weight on front tires to push itself back and center of car is completely off ground, put it in reverse and make sure nobody is behind you lightly give it some gas and voila! I have high centered many times in my car off roading and snow, it works every time, just a bit of patience.
shes turning that steering wheel like it matters when its up in the air lol
Eric will be building a third wrecker soon. The third one wil be for Abby.

I owned the 66 half cab Bronco and a 69 full cab Bronco those were tough vehicles. With 38inch monster Mudders these new Broncos are toys compared to those old ones. Broncos went downhill when they came out with the Bronco 2
First if that remark, 'it's not a jeep" implies Jeeps cannot break parts, the guy is either drunk, has not idea what he is talking about or just really not intelligent in off-roading. Many Heepers carry a great supply of parts that can and sometimes break, as well as those who own Broncos, Tacos. etc. A broken tie rod is NOT hard to replace and get the vehicle moving....just make sure to get an alignment before a lot of highway driving. And if a Hummer hater, explain Tacos (aka Tacoma), Frontiers and others with independent front suspensions that also can keep up with Jeeps on any trail I have been on after seven years in Moab UT. Yes a solid front axle is nice, but it all comes down to the driver and in many cases the spotter.
Probably didn’t even have the front & rear lockers engaged Lol!!
