There isnt a single british car maker armoring their cars themselves. OEM armored cars are far superior to third party, add on armor. The only car makers who still make OEM armored cars are Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Chevy.

Maybe they preferred a car, the XJ is no longer an option for the government so they would need to look towards the Germans for such a vehicle or go more premium with Bentley/Rolls Royce. Which I wouldn’t mind may I add.

The Range Rover was only ever a temporary fix. It’s not a limousine it’s a police car. The Range Rover is better following the limousine so it can ram or shield the limo from Any threat. The Audi being close to the ground wide bodied and very heavy improves survivability considerably in the event things go bang. Also the specification of armour plating that Audi provide is substantially more than Jaguar Land Rover offered the government. That Audi is a tank. You don’t need a motorcade when you are inside such a vehicle. 2 cars should be plenty. ✌️
