The rider is frantically sounding the whistle there as an alternative to a siren, not to get the attention of pedestrians and stationary/slow moving traffic. If that was a marked bike performing the same maneouvure, almost certainly the siren would have been on. There are times when a siren is necessary. Supposing the VIP is somehow kidnapped. There's one bike to give chase. What's it going to do, tear after them with the whistle blowing?

The moment they have to give chase, something went way down south. The fact that they don't use them, doesn't say they don't have them, btw. I wouldn't be surprised if there are sirens fitted on those bikes. What surprises me more is the fact that there are constantly bikes speeding past the convoy and the vip cars. That is something that is not done for the escort groups in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands the bikers making way for the convoy stay ahead of the convoy all the time. The moment the convoy enters the road space they have secured they will leave and speed ahead. A lone biker or car behind the convoy will free the space for other traffic.

@@Peregrine101 they don't have sirens fitted 😉 The SEG have trained many police forces across the world. The bike holds a junction until the armed safety car passes the bike that was holding the junction then makes progress to the next junction and so on.. Simple and affective
