New Air Force One Presidential Boeing 747 1st Flight Delayed To 2026

The new Air Force One Boeing 747, known as the VC-25B, has suffered yet another setback. Its first flight was pushed back by more than a year and the revised date will hopefully see the upcoming presidential aircraft take its maiden flight in March 2026. It’s hardly surprising news coming from a program that is already extremely over budget and behind schedule.

At this rate, VC-25B will be eligible for its mid-life upgrade before its maiden flight.

Can confirm the hiring drive, Boeing was recruiting students to be hired onto the Air Force One program this spring at my university. They were mostly looking for safety inspectors ans quality engineers across multiple programs.
Looks like the Orange man will be on the jet first.
Lengthy delays and large cost overruns are normal when working with American contractors. Keeps the money flowing.

The 737 max fallout followed by increased oversight and scrutiny from regulators have severely strangled Boeing's manufacturing capability. The new Air Force One's delivery delay is no exception.

@@911HRW Well, does it matter? That's the reality. So any cost overruns are on Boeing's platter, not the Tax payer. I mean that's the BIG DEAL about the whole thing.
Given that it already was certified and tested, did its currency time out?

US Air Force will refuse to order any Airbus planes, because they wanted American-made plane and Lockheed no longer have plans to make airliners
They should have outsourced the work to china.
