Since it was developed by Retro, and its entire existence was a fan-requested game (which Nintendo japan never really do), from the ground up they probably tell themselves they have to be faithful to the prime series. If it was done by Nintendo Japan, it would have severed all ties with prime series.

I wish it hadn’t taken me until just now to realize he probably has used it on most “Starting Soon” screens for a majority of his stream since when I first heard it and I should’ve watched them at any point during the last year and a half 😂
