    Tip for everyone reading this. Don’t get tricked into buying $100 swords. Instead of owning a bunch of meh $100 swords, just be patient and save up for at least $200-300 sword. If you are a sneakerhead it’s like better to own a Jordan 1 High compared to owning 2 or 3 Jordan 1 Mids to make the same point. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Now if that’s going to be your only sword and you can only afford that then so be it but just don’t collect a bunch of mediocre stuff that you will regret down the road.

    I have $300 and $1200 swords, you wouldn't wear your best Jordan's to train every day. You have a pair specifically for training in rough condition. That is what this is. A training tool not a flex.

    @@VeganJutsu super steels are inferior to the steels used on the battlefield, and the traditional Japnese Katanas are made of iron. Spring steel is the ultimate melee weapons grade material at this time.

    this is because super steel are far superior in sharpness, edge retention, and corosion resistance... spring steel is however the best for light weight and high impact applications. a proper spring steel full tang blade should be able to chop wood every day for multiple life times... but you will have to sharpen it all the time and constantly fight against rust.

    I have come to the conclusion that the wakizashi is best sword if you actually plan to use it for defense or transport it from place to place. I’m a firm believer that an 18-20” machete is the best bladed weapon for untrained people to defend themselves with. A wakizashi is definitely a more classy and expensive option for those who appreciate history and have a bit of practice with swords. That’s what draws me to it.

    Great video. I've been looking for a wakizashi to compliment my katana. While researching I came across your video, it was very informative and checked the necessary boxes (t10, decent quality, and great price). Would I have rather purchased a more expensive and better quality sure but at several hundred dollars more for me this was a much better choice!!! When I get it and inspect I'll send an email Yongli stating my satisfaction and you was the tipping point that influenced my buying decision!!!

    Not quite. If you're fighting a wild animal with a sword, you want a sword with more range than a wakizashi. You want a sword longer than even a katana. Maybe a Nodachi, but it would be MUCH slower...so...maybe don't tackle wildlife with melee weapons except as a last resort.

    That's an unokubi-zukuri blade (naginata style blade) if you want to know if it's really differentially hardened blade hold it upside down by the end of the tsuka and flick the blade with your finger if it dings it's through hardened if it makes a dull "donk" sound it's differentially hardened. T10 is a good steel but the heat treatment is more important a well treated 1045 blade will outperform a badly treated T10 anyway enjoyed your video thanks and best wishes for the future

    Did it ship from China (?) and how long did that take? I love that it's lighter than 2 lbs. / 1 kg. I've been using a cold steel waki which is a bit heftier, but I want to find a pair of LIGHT matching wakis to fight 2 handed [1 waki in ea. hand] very quickly. Got any leads on a solid waki with a shorter handle for 1 handed use? Maybe a long tanto?

  • @VeganJutsu

    @VeganJutsu

    Жыл бұрын

    Hello friend first thank you for your comment. I'm not sure where it shipped from it took longer than a usual Amazon delivery. Maybe 2-3 weeks. Still shorter than times I've ordered from China. I love cold steel but alot of their products are cost prohibited for me, or they use animal products. These handles are not that long, and with a little work you can shorten them I have rehandle almost all my katana to fit my needs. Long tanto I wouldn't pursue if you want the asthetic of two sword fighting you need at least the 20-21" blade.

    Hello! I found the blade you asked for. In my opinion it's not worth buying, the 1060 steel is reported as inaccurate description and soft steel. The proportions seem off, a rather large and skinny tsuka, the tempering on the blade from my view seems fake, acid etched. For all the red flags just from the sales page I would not spend $130 for that sword. I hope this helps and if the sword suggestions look good I will buy them for further review.
