Do you think Retro Bikes are cool or a flash in the pan?

I went to a Yamaha demo ride and they had all the 2022 bikes. I went to ride the MT07 but ended up riding the XSR700. Cant stop thinking about that bike.

Yamaha really put an real effort to clean the bike up from ugly brackets and wiring that was sticking out on the old bike. -16 model was so twitchy i deemed it unsafe to ride. Also sticking on some premium rubber Bridgstone Hypersport S22. Cruise control is a gods gift to motorcycle riders. And that 6 axis imu will enhance rider safety even more.

I wille probably buy it despite it's retro looks. It is simply the new CP3 engine in a worthy chassis. But the design is definitly better than that of the new MT09 and the handlebars are not that high . I 'm simply no retro or cold coffee biker, just wan't something sporty with the cp3 engine from a company that manufatures reliable bikes for a fair price. And i guess that's what the new XSR 900 will be.

Great review. While I agree with all the pros you mention I am a bit concerned about Yamaha's price policy. They have increased the price by 1,000€ within a year in Germany. Too much praise from the journalists?

I like that they put the exhaust under the bike. I've got a 2020xsr 900 I'll probably upgrade at least to this. This is the bike I wanted back then.

@@timothyyoung8138 I guess it depends on a lot on what you want from a bike, what appeals to you personally? I am not personally into the styling of the MT-09 or MT-10 that much, part of what I love about this is the Retro look with modern performance. I am not knocking the MT line, I just dig the retro style more, takes me back to my younger days.

@@NewBikeMikeChannel the new xsr is so sharp looking IMHO and plenty quick too. I once owned a car with a turbo. It was such a blast. The supercharged Z H2 is apealing me on that note, not as much my style. Tough call. It may come down to affordability.

Well I’m not sure what you consider a long trip but I would probably look at a sport tourer or touring bike if your going to do long hauls like 300+ miles a day

I'd say yes. The riding position looks comfortable, maybe a small windscreen, tank bag, and soft bags and you're good to go. Just be mindful of going to places where gas stations are few and far between as the fuel range won't be great.

Do you think Yamaha will launch an Abarth edition like in the previous generation? That would be worst it!
