lol the spool doesn't "stick" to the side plate because of magnets but because there's a rubber ring on the spool shaft which fits tigher on the side plate bearing.

Its a nice reel. Im liking it more than my current steez at the moment. Hows your casting distance with the zillion and the metanium mgl? Just curious

Casting distance is very similar... I will need to actually do some "scientific" casting test to see which one actually casts further. Out of the box, Zillion did not cast as far i expected. With adjusting the "no adjust" dial, i was allowed to get maximum casting distance - same if not further than the metanium.

@@ChewyThaoFishing Had the same experience in distance with my new JDM Zillon, seems a bit "choked" while on a short outing. Hav'nt touched the "no adjust" yet though... And I might also flush and re-oil the spool bearings, read that it might do some good. Still nice to hear that yours now can compete with your Met MGL - current model? Would you say the Met is as easy to cast and adjust in head wind as the Zillion SV Boost Brake and Daiwa Air Brake?

How do you set the spool tension position ,with side to side movement ,no move ment ?

Whats the break differenz to the steez sc tw hv700? Looks the same... also everything looks same

I just received a brand new Daiwa Zillion 21 SV TW G reel ( ZLNSVG100H ) but without the cast control cap or the stem. Where can I order an authentic replacement cap and stem for it or any that is compatible? I think the Daiwa part number is H28-1201 but I’m not 100% sure on that or what the stem it covers is. This Zillion 21 is a pretty well known reel so I figured you guys might have a good idea of what would work here. Thank you!

How do you get the 0 0 back to 0 as it came out of the box

Hey Jan - i think you will be just fine between 1/4 oz and 1oz lures. Heck, you could even go 1/8 or 1/16 with the SV spool.

I have 13met, 16met and 20met...21 zillion is my first daiwa and i like the braking system better than infinity. Daiwa brakes seems more controlled to me, but I guess that's why shimano casts a little further. i usually throw 1/4 oz to 1/2 oz soft plastics. All my reels are JDM. Metanium palms a little better for me, but not by much. I still use both reels. Zillion will be for finesse applications and metanium will be for heavier baits long casting. If i were to choose only one i would go with the zillion. I probably won't be buying any more shimano's unless it's a dc reel. wanna try one out, hopefully they release a metanium b dc, i like the new smaller body. Hope that helps with your decision

jdm vs domestic comparison in our future? i got the jdm once they launched in japan months ago. at 6.1oz for the jdm...super pleased, so much so there's no need to buy a steez sv tw anymore. they nailed the size and shape, maybe the most comfortable reel out. i'm really curious if the the weight difference with domestic version is noticeable.

Yes! I will be getting the JDM version in the up-coming months and will do a review on the two. So far, this Zillion is the real deal!

I bought mine in Japan I love it 30 lb braid and cast a mile and cheaper

You didn't mention that the JDM Zillion is made in Japan, but are equipped with aluminum gears, that's why they weigh less. The US one is made in Thailand, but comes with brass gears, hence why it weighs more.

6.7 ounches for the US model with brass gears, 6.17 ounces for the JDM with aluminum gears. Daiwa does do aluminum gears better then Shimano though, so its probably not as big of a deal as it is in say a 16 Met versus a 20 Met, where they went back to brass gears.

Sharp looking reel. How does it cast against the Tat Elite?

surpasses the Tatula Elite by far. A lot smoother, casting effort is minimal for maximum casting distance. This is, basically, the same if not better than the Steez A

Does the JDM version cast farther? It has the aluminum main gear instead of brass.

@@ChewyThaoFishing yeah...thats cool. I kinda feel like a dummy. I just got the new 2021 Antares DC,no real improvement over the Anteras A70. The Zillion is better at half the price. I'm getting the 2021 Scorpion DC in about a week..maybe that will show some promise.

@@frankmesh5280 the Zillion can throw almost any bait- light to heavy. Scorpion DC is meduim- heavy bait /does better than the Zillion on windy days. Zillion feels light and hollow...Scorpion DC feels heavy and geary.

They made a jdm version it has aluminum main gear and has smaller reel handle also made in Japan of course I have the zillion had and it was made in Thailand but it’s legit!!!

When you say grindy, do you mean that you could feel vibration as you turn the reel or that you can feel the gears.
