Dang those in their 70's. 80's and whoaaaa 90's! No knee issues, nervous system still in great shape, Cardio system all intact, the spine and the rest bone structures that could take immense loads still, the heart still pumping like a nuclear plant, WTF! I got hopes. My mother always says, sitting is dying.

Greetings from London, England. I've just watched this whole video from start to finish with expletives flying out of my mouth after every single race. That was absolutely incredible! It shouldn't come as a surprise to me really but when you actually see so many people run that quickly... it is just stunning. Even the ones who finished in lowly positions, hats off to them. What most people won't realise is, all these athletes can beat 99% of the population over that 200m distance, even 99% of all the teenagers and those in their 20s. Why? Because most people never bother to train to run. As a man in my 50s and in some serious training, I've just watched women in their 60s run seconds faster than me, let alone the men! It really makes you think. Amazing video. Thanks for putting it together and posting it.

Running Raw Our INDIVIDUAL decline is indeed not cut-and-dried. But the outer envelope of human performance and decline is in fact quite fixed. For elite athletes who are taking care of themselves, the decline is quite predictable. For most of us, as you point out, because we are inside the envelope, we might be able to sustain ourselves, at least for short periods of time, by moving closer to a declining curve.
