Designed for a well-travelled client who enjoys the comfort and luxury of hotel suites, Vin Leong of Haelycyon Days adapted hotel design principles for this central Singapore apartment, creating a functional space that maximises storage and livability. Amongst Leong’s key additions to the space was a full height, integrated storage wall at the entrance clad in a dramatic dark wood green laminate as well as a hidden glass sliding door separating the entryway from the kitchen, preventing smells and smoke from escaping into the living area. Here, the original polished marble floors were honed for a more contemporary matte finish, while a neutral colour palette creates a blank canvas for carefully selected furniture to stand out. This theme continues in the bedroom, where a wall of seamless white panelling with hidden handles houses ample storage and wardrobe space. A cleverly placed mirror in the corner of the bedroom gives the illusion of added depth. With this thoughtful execution, Vin Leong has created a functional and clutter free space for his client to enjoy.

One of the most successfully 'small' apartments I've seen. It feels so spacious and luxurious without being pretentious or over the top. Just when you think it's too much, the contrast of those dark wood panels just soften the space perfectly. I'm in awe 😍

The space is MAGNIFICENT!!!!! The moody yet calming entryway is amazing. The main living space is flooded with light. Gives such an airy and light feel to the space. All the storage is a PLUS when living in a compact area. I absolutely loved the new layout. Made so much more sense. Bedrooms should be private areas of the home NOT a pass through. Architect did a PHENOMENAL job. WELL DONE!!!

I think it’s so helpful to make the entry way a separate spot. In too many small units one opens the door and wham is smack in the kitchen or living space. Even if it can’t physically be made a separate space, just defining it as such through colour is helpful.

@@kh5322 sadly, in most ASEAN countries, some apartments in the city centre are only between 150-200 sqft. And it's a whole studio apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom. So yeah...
Gosh, I would hire Vin Leong if I lived in Singapore! Beautifully executed. Very refined and functional. This is one of the best small spaces I have seen on KZread.
one on the better apartments i have seen on never too small ... clean lines, good storage and functional well done!
Love the dark entrance. And then the uber white living spaces 😍 Great design!
This is extremely well done for several reasons. Maximizing storage without it being obvious. Extremely clean lines and a feeling of luxury and calm. The only thing lacking IMO is more counter space in the kitchen; but by cooking food needing few ingredients you can get around this. I like having the bathroom sink faucet on the right-hand side. People think they need more space which isn't true. It's how to maximize space that is most important. Vin Leong you should win an award! The owner is a very lucky person who clearly knew what he wanted.
WOW I LOVE THIS!!!!! It's minimalistic yet so modern and well thought out. Gives me some fancy hotel room vibes

I've never understood why people like 'hotel room vibe'. I prefer something "homey-er". Just a bit too clinical for me. Still I do like the layout, storage, and overall appearance.
Lighting is EVERYTHING in this amazing apartment! The amount of thought that’s gone into all the design details, especially the lighting and storage has created a highly functional and beautiful modern space! Personally I’d add a few more plants ! 💐🥰
The only thing missing is a balcony, but apart from that: PERFECT.

This is the epitome of sophisticated minimalism
Okay, this is amazing. After a long time, I have seen a minimalistic space, that is well thought out and isn't bland or soulless. Everything is so well laid out, that it just makes sense. Love the idea that every space gives you a different vibe yet complement each other.

Amazing how the simple choices of colour and texture (cream tile in bathroom, cushions in living room, green-tinted coffee table) stop it from being sterile. Also items like bedding, accessories and blinds can easily be changed in some future makeover, while the walls and cabinet finishes stay the same, so that’s a good investment!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ The apartment exudes an understated elegance and sophistication without sacrificing comfort or function. Magnificent design, which allows a cohesive but practical living for a single individual or a couple.
Avoiding clutter. Great kitchen because there is No clutter! No hanging spoons, knives, pots or pans, cups or onions, and fruit bowls! Bravo to that kitchen space.
I'm kinda indifferent toward neutral color palettes apartments. I mean, at the end of the day it is pretty, but I want to see colors, I want to see spaces that are alive. "A neutral color palette is brought into the space and becomes a blank canvas for furniture pieces to stand out" when even the furniture pieces are either beige or grey is a bold statement. Nothing really stands out and everything is kind of sterile. Aside from this small rant, the layout is really clever and there's a good use of storage space.
So amazing that people can take such a small living space and make it look so amazing
this space is already generous for a one-bedder(most homes on this channel are considerably smaller) but the design, layout, flow and use lighting/hidden storage does make it look bigger and more liveable. Big kudos to the designer even though I am not a fan of the modern whitish luxury hotel look. Ironically, this look is now pretty rare in theluxury end of the hospitality sector as there is increasing preference for warmer aesthetics with organic textures/materials and decor that reflects the history, culture or a sense of place.

So much well thought out storage covering all the household needs without bending under beds and floors. Excellent choice of mirrors and furniture. Well done.
The project is calm, It feels so spacious and luxurious. The classic modern furniture from bauhaus, Le Corbusier and others are so sophisticated.
Besides how good it look, I love how much storage space it has. Sometimes design comes before practicality but not here. You can tell you can easy store all the things a house need in that apartment

This place is stunning! One of my all-time favorites. I especially love that kitchen. The architect is super talented.
Incredible! The first camera switch into the view from the bedroom to the living room really nailed the feeling of this apartment. The simplicity of using black and white, but then somehow using them to define a completely new feeling, is masterful. I am in awe of this one. Thank you!
It looks great and beautiful done. I personally spend a lot of time cooking so the kitchen would not work for me, I find it a bit oppressive but it still looks great and makes good use of the space.

While I enjoy an integrated kitchen/living area, having the smells of a kitchen contained is definitely a good thing in a small space. I can see the benefits.
one of the BEST I've seen, lots of storage space, no pull outs pull downs and everything looks like a luxe hotel
The designer Vin Leong did such wonderful job with this, love that he recreated the blank canvas layout to maximise the space to be more functional and practical vs the original design whereby folks have to access through the bedroom to get to bathroom. The minimalist has soul and class, smart choice of using mirror to give illusion of depth!! Bravo!
The way the tall cabinets flow up made the place look so tall and spacious. Great design!
I love the amount of storage space there is in this small space. The design elegantly camouflages for a beautiful clean look. Nice!

how is it a SMALL apartement, if 55 sqm is just the random size for one person?
I love the full-height sliding doors to the bedroom and bathroom. And the use of the mirrors in both the living room and bedroom. The black and white is too austere for me, especially in the kitchen. It looks 'cool' but I think it would get me down. The storage ideas were subtle and effective. Always happy when a new "Never too Small" shows up .
If you've regularly stayed in business-class hotels while traveling around the world, you know that hotel design is some of the most elegant, peaceful, and functional design you will ever encounter. A very beautiful and useful way to organize a small space, with maximum storage so the space never feels cluttered. Storage is not cheap though, but worth the cost-benefit.
this is it!! one of the perfect never too small apartments layouts and interior design i’ve seen on this channel love it sooo much
A lovely designed home that hits the client's brief, benefiting from big windows and nice to see a separate kitchen.
Amazing and a very well designed space with a great balance between the darker, cozier, more intimate colours versus the bright white open and airy spaces that one needs to not feel claustrophobic or confined. I'm not a minimalist myself, but I do admire how meditative and restful a more minimally decorated space with a neutral colour palette can be while still showcasing one's collections or personal tastes in furniture or décor to warm up the space and to make it truly unique; not cookie-cutter or sterile at all. Bravo! :)
This! I am in love with the monochromatic simplicity of the ultra modern built ins providing a perfect backdrop for the carefully curated mid-century inspired furniture. Many clever touches as well, such as the translucent sliding door and 3m narrow mirror nest to the headboard. And for once, enough storage space and a big fridge!

Unis, I agree with you about the many clever (and refined) touches in this apartment. This video is going to get a lot of positive reviews.
Perfection! Its my favorite space on NTS so far. A well thought throught floorplan, storage space and this calm vibe is what i love the most.
Everything little thing was considered. One of my pet peeves is always the shelving in showers. The solution here is perfect. Impressive.
This is one of the best apartments featured on your channel. The whole place screams for me peace and quiet lol. I totally see myself living in the space like this. Absolutely stunning
I can’t imagine myself living in the space but still loved the aesthetic! It does look like a luxury hotel room❤
Beautiful. I love the simplicity and use of light and dark to define spaces. Very sophisticated and elegant.
So beautiful! My favorite apartment was 600 sq ft but lacked the architect's touch that this one has. If this had a balcony it would be perfection.
Love it! Very smart layout connecting the entrance hall and the wet areas, preserving the privacy of the bedroom. Best “ Never too small” project so far! 👏👏👏
This feels like a sanctuary. Love the re-design by the architect. The plinth in the hallway feels less integrated/built-inefficient than it might be to showcase art and I'd lose the vintage B&O CD tower and speakers pronto because they look like clutter to me but they may have value for the owner. The owner travels a lot so where is the suitcase storage (pneumatic bed or storage cage downstairs somewhere?). I agree with an earlier commenter - the only thing missing is a balcony. Lots of storage looks empty for now which is great. I love the small kitchen, enough for 1 or 2, there won't be big dinner parties here so no need for more. Mirror details are brilliant for creating the illusion of more space/a passage through. 😀😍
Great choices of loose furniture, light fitting, accessories! Really add quality and depth to the small space.
Really like this one - classic clean lines, great lighting, a colour scheme that works, functional. My only slight concern is that the client travels a lot, lots of different hotel suites - you’d think he’d want something different at home, more of a contrast, a little bit funky perhaps - otherwise it’s just another high end same same suite he’s been used to on the road.
While I prefer a "warmer" aesthetic; I can see how a person could live here. This is an incredibly smart and well-thought out apartment. It even has a comfortable looking sofa.
Sleek space. I'm a fan of the colour palette. Perfectly balanced between form and function.
Oh wow, I usually don't like the more minimalistic spaces but there's just something very soothing about this one. I can feel the "hotel-ness" of it quite keenly, but it still seems so inviting at the same time. This is beautifully done!
This is definetly one of my favourites for a variety of reasons including fantastic use of storage & very inspirational too!
Love the sleek lines and hidden spaces..very minimalistic my kinda place…bright airy but rich in different uses of material…and lighting
Absolutely love the dark and light contrast of the space. So tastefully done ❤
Absolutely gorgeous 👌👌👌the brilliant interplay of black and white simultaneously calms and lights up the space. The seamless storage and floor to ceiling door is simply awesome💖💖💖
Amazing! The project is calm, It feels so spacious and luxurious. The classic modern furniture from bauhaus, Le Corbusier and others are so sophisticated.
I loved this apartment, design, light, bathroom. Cosy and modern!
Exquisit taste in the selection of colours. Clean lines and simplistic shapes. Beautiful and elegant!
Probabl the most beautiful & tasteful modern design tiny home. Love everything about it. Bravo and thank you for sharing!
It definitely resembles a 5 stars hotel suite as the owner intends. Kudos to small details such as USM units reflecting a sophisticated taste
Fits the brief exceptionally well. Luxury hotel vibes, yet maximum, seamless storage. Improved the layout. Worked with original floors, but updated the finish. Very restrained and neutral. Personally I would add plants and books and more texture in rug, throw and pillows for a cozier, homey vibe. But the layout and style really works. TFS
It's so calm and luxurious. I love how you maximized the space.
This is the most maximized use of small space. Everything was perfect, would love to see this layout internationally.
Love every part of the apartment. So well designed, classy and livable.
I think this is my favorite space yet featured on this channel. Fantastic! 😍 Very functional and yet cozy and modern.
I love the clean design, uncluttered, lots of storage. Well done.
Dark wood in small spaces + warm lighting gives such a cozy, solid feel
I love the light and lighting, the semi-closed floor plan, the minimal yet comfy looking furnishings. What an exceptional use of space. Genius!
So beautiful! Feels very luxe and high end. Could happily live in there. And what an incredible upgrade from the original space. Bravo 👏
Really liked this make over, the only thing I wish there was more of was counter space within the kitchen area; not for storing appliances but more prep space. But still a wonderful layout for such a small space.

I really love the expensive and calm hotel vibe. Also, a lot of light. PS A person, who models the house, is handsome. 😌
The style is very straight forward and professional. I love how the space was maximized. 💯💯
❤fantastic light design, also very good colours for ground and Walls.. perfect
I love it. It's exactly what I've been looking for. The designer hit it out the park on this one
I love this space. The storage solutions are so smart!
It is amazing how colors can set a mood. A bright foyer would have stimulated one's senses, where the dark foyer takes your senses down upon entry. Just the right size apartment with a smart use of cabinets to conceal stuff/clutter. I suspect he will trade in the B&O larger system for something smaller to blend into the new style of the apartment.
Such a clean, clear, liveable space. Love this!
so clever and warm and inviting as well as very very stylish. love love love GREAT JOB
Easily my top 5 small apartments ive ever seen on this channel or any other. This is perfection.

I agree. But the second time I watched I focused more on the owners pieces of furniture. He appears to be a collector of Bauhaus and modernist furniture pieces. The apartment design feels almost like an art gallery space, perfect for showcasing his carefully curated pieces. Either furniture is the owners form of collecting art and prefers they be the focus, or perhaps he’s more newly moved In and with time he’ll also begin to add some artwork to his collection too. Would be interesting to visit again in a year or two. Personally I think that tv wall would make for an incredible gallery wall, especially if gallery style hanging rods were added to the top, to allow for various pieces of artwork to be hung and moved and changed with great ease and depending on his mood. His travels could afford him the ability to find meaningful pieces that provide fond memories.
Superb. I love the contrasts. I love the practicality & the simplicity. Tranquil and dramatic. I’m inspired 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Love this. The black areas are amazing. Looks bigger.
I would go crazy with all these white walls around me and no pictures anywhere. 😬 I couldn't even take it just as a visitor. But well, people are different. The main thing is that the owner likes it. 🙂
Exquisitely designed home. Perfect for a small family with all amenities.
"Small" made me laugh, my three-story high house is slightly bigger. But the storage space is absolutely stunning and invisible. The use of mirrors gives the illusion all is floating. Love the dark entrance in contrast with the bright rooms, as if you enter into the light. Just like the newly created privacy for the toilet. Love it. Now if I can my house this empty 🤣
Love the use of different black materials!
Meticulous measurements to create best functionality, my personal preference would be to place the dining table closer to the kitchen, thank you for the great content, your channel has given me lots of enjoyment over the years.
looks great and functional. bathroom and kitchen are 100% perfect. i would have preferred some more wood textures for a warmer look and feel. there's a bit too much white at the moment.
